Description
Mireille Barrard (1930-2005) was a French artist who specialized in ‘lyrical’ art that reflected her interest in music. Her signature is on this scarf (not hand-signed) and the scarf features the flourishes and designs of her work. Emphasis on 1789 and the words fraternity, equality and liberty (in French). Hand-rolled, very good vintage condition. But very rare. I have quite a few rare scarves, but this may be my rarest— because it is ‘signed’ by a well-known French woman artist and highlights 1789, the start of the French Revolution.
