Vintage Studio Pottery Brown Drip Glaze Vase Utensil Jar Signed WL Stoneware

A striking vintage hand-thrown studio pottery vessel finished in a rich dark chocolate brown glaze with attractive olive green running drip decoration. The simple cylindrical form with gently waisted sides highlights the craftsmanship, while the glossy glaze contrasts beautifully with the exposed terracotta foot.

The base bears an impressed 'WL' signature and the number 86, although I have been unable to identify the maker with certainty.

A versatile piece that would work equally well as a utensil holder, vase, brush pot or simply displayed as part of a studio pottery collection.

Condition:
Very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are the usual kiln and firing marks to the base and minor signs of age consistent with a handmade studio pottery piece.
