Original Signed & Numbered Etching — "Vilnius" | Monika Urmanavičiūtė-Jonaitienė
Description
An original hand-colored etching titled Vilnius by Lithuanian graphic artist and painter Monika Urmanavičiūtė-Jonaitienė (1935–1999). The work depicts a panoramic rooftop view of Vilnius's historic Old Town — a skyline of Baroque church towers, tiled rooftops, and Gothic spires that defined the city's centuries-old character.
Urmanavičiūtė-Jonaitienė was a Vilnius-based artist known for her precise, calligraphic etchings of the city's architecture. She produced most of her Vilnius cityscape series during the 1990s — a period of profound significance, as Lithuania had just reclaimed independence after Soviet occupation. These prints carry the weight of that moment: a people reclaiming their own history in ink.
The piece is hand-signed by the artist, numbered 194 out of an edition of 200, and dated 1990. It comes framed in a dark wood frame with cream mat.
