MATERIAL ISSUE Diane 7" UK MERCURY MER349 1991 RARE LABEL ERROR / MISPRESS

MATERIAL ISSUE – DIANE / THE BOXER (LIVE) – UK 7" MERCURY MER 349 – LABEL ERROR
Scarce UK 7" single by Material Issue, released on Mercury in 1991.
A-side: Diane
B-side: The Boxer (Live)
Catalogue: MER 349
Format: 7" vinyl single
Country: UK
Year: 1991
The B-side is a live cover of the Simon & Garfunkel song “The Boxer.”

What makes this particular copy unusual is that the B-side has no paper label fitted at all. The vinyl itself is pressed normally, but the entire B-side label is absent, leaving the moulded centre area exposed.

I have not found another MER 349 copy with this same factory label-omission variation, so this appears to be an unusual manufacturing error rather than a standard issue.

The A-side has the normal Mercury label and the record comes with the original picture sleeve.

A very unusual copy of an already collectable early-90s power-pop single, and of particular interest to Material Issue collectors, pressing-error collectors and Mercury label collectors.

Superb condition
