Gumtree to Quibly: Post the Items Your Local Buyers Are Not Finding

Which Gumtree items suit Quibly, what each side costs, how FLUF Connect sends your Gumtree stock to Quibly, and what to do when it sells.

70+ marketplaces, one dashboard Auto inventory sync WhatsApp, email & in-app support

A Gumtree ad reaches people who can come to you. That is perfect for a sofa and slow for a pair of boots, a games console or a box of books, which sit until someone nearby happens to search. Quibly, a UK marketplace for pre-loved goods that opened in September 2026, sells the same kind of item with a postage label or a local handover. FLUF Connect can send items from your Gumtree inventory to Quibly so you do not photograph and describe them a second time.

In short

  • Send Quibly the Gumtree items that post easily. Keep furniture and other collection-only items on Gumtree alone.
  • Gumtree charges sellers nothing. Quibly charges a platform fee when an item sells, and its entry plan, with no monthly charge, includes 10 listings a month.
  • A Quibly sale comes into your FLUF orders. The Gumtree ad is yours to delete.
  • When a Gumtree buyer takes an item, record the sale in FLUF and Quibly’s listing comes down.

Which Gumtree items to send

Gumtree is built around distance. Buyers filter by how far they will travel, and many ads say “collection only”. Quibly’s homepage offers Evri or DPD postage with a label created for the seller, or local collection, so it can sell an item to someone at the other end of the country.

  • Good on Quibly: clothing and shoes, small electricals, games and consoles, books, toys, kitchenware, anything that fits a standard parcel.
  • Keep on Gumtree only: furniture, white goods, bikes, garden equipment and anything too heavy or awkward to post.
  • Either: mid-size items such as a pram or a monitor. List them on Quibly with collection and let the first buyer win.

Quibly’s entry plan, which has no monthly charge, includes 10 listings a month, so start with the ten Gumtree ads that have had the fewest messages. Those are the items Gumtree’s local audience is not finding.

What each side costs

Gumtree’s fees page says sellers pay nothing when a buyer pays through Gumtree. The buyer pays a protection fee of £0.70 plus 5% to 10% of the price, and delivery. Cash on collection costs nobody anything.

Quibly’s homepage says “platform fees apply when an item sells”. Its terms (section 9.1) point to the help centre for the current rates, and Quibly must give 15 days’ notice of a change (section 9.2). Check the rate before you price a batch.

Gumtree UK Quibly
Seller fee None Platform fee on each sale
Listings Free ads; promotion is optional and paid 10 a month on the entry plan; paid plans give more
How buyers get the item Collection, or delivery when paid through Gumtree Evri or DPD with a label, or local collection
When you are paid On the doorstep, or after the buyer pays through Gumtree 48 hours after confirmed delivery for a private seller

Before you send anything

Quibly’s terms require sellers to be 18 or over (section 3.1) and to finish an identity check before listings go live or money is released (section 14.5). Do the check first. Otherwise the items you send wait unseen.

Each item needs at least two photos for Quibly. Gumtree ads often have one wide shot of the item on a carpet. Add a close-up of the label, the model number or any wear before you send it, because Quibly’s buyers cannot inspect it on the doorstep the way a Gumtree buyer can.

Quibly also asks at registration whether you sell as a private individual or a business (section 4.2). Private sellers do not have to accept change-of-mind returns (section 11.1), which is close to the Gumtree arrangement most sellers are used to.

Think about the price. A Gumtree price usually leaves room for haggling on the doorstep. On Quibly the buyer also pays for postage, so a price that looks fair for collection in Leeds can look high to a buyer in Bristol once delivery is added.

When it sells

What happens What FLUF does What you do
It sells on Quibly The sale comes into your FLUF orders and the item comes off your other channels that FLUF can update Delete the Gumtree ad, then pack and post
A Gumtree buyer takes it Nothing until you tell it Mark it sold in FLUF and the Quibly listing ends
You change the price in FLUF Updates the Quibly listing Edit the Gumtree ad yourself if you want them to match

The Gumtree side is where double sales happen. When a Quibly order arrives, delete the ad straight away and reply to anyone who has already messaged about it. When a Gumtree buyer is on their way, mark it sold in FLUF before they arrive rather than after they leave.

Gumtree UK only

FLUF’s Gumtree channel is Gumtree UK. Gumtree Australia is a separate business with its own accounts and its own channel in FLUF, and Quibly only trades in the UK anyway.

What FLUF costs

Crosslisting and inventory sync are on every FLUF plan, from £9 a month for Starter. Relisting, offer management and smart pricing come with Pro and above, but none of them is available on Gumtree or Quibly. You can start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.
