Crosslist from Discogs to Vinted: fees, photos and what sells

Is Vinted right for your Discogs stock?
Vinted suits records, CDs and cassettes that a buyer could come across while scrolling. It suits rare pressings less. Discogs buyers usually search for a specific release and compare copies of it. On Vinted, people browse a feed and buy what catches their eye at a price they like.
So a rare first pressing usually belongs on Discogs, in front of a collector who knows what it is worth. Major-label reissues, greatest-hits compilations, soundtrack LPs and boxes of CDs and cassettes are better candidates for Vinted.
The other question is whether you sell as a trader. Vinted’s guide for Pro sellers says that if you are a professional, you must declare yourself as a Pro seller. In the UK, sole traders, companies and non-profit organisations registered in the UK can sign up. Vinted can ask you to create a Pro account if it has information showing you meet the criteria, and it can block your access if you do not.
Pro accounts come with their own limits. Vinted’s page on what you can sell as a Pro seller rules out selling a large number of brand-new items, and offering items bought in bulk for resale. If your Discogs shop runs on sealed new releases or job lots bought to resell, read that page before you connect Vinted. Stock from your own collection, or second-hand records you sell one at a time, is a closer match.
Photos and condition: what changes on Vinted
On Discogs you list against a release in the Discogs database, so many listings show only the release images. Discogs does let you upload photos of the item itself, but plenty of sellers never do. On Vinted, a stock cover image gives a browsing buyer little reason to trust the item. Photograph the sleeve front and back, the disc, and any ring wear, scuffs or seam splits.
Discogs sellers grade the media and the sleeve separately, using the Goldmine standard from Mint down to Poor. “VG+/VG+” means a lot to a collector and very little to a casual buyer. Write both grades out in plain words in the Vinted description, and show the marks in the photos.
Where records, CDs and cassettes go on Vinted
Vinted’s Entertainment category page lists CDs, cassettes, vinyl and other physical formats as music you can sell. E-books and digital audiobooks are not allowed. In the UK catalogue, records sit under Books & Media, then Music, in a Vinyl records category, with a separate CDs category.
What each side charges
Discogs charges sellers a 9% selling fee on the item price and the shipping, with a minimum of $0.10 and a maximum of $150 per sale.
Vinted UK has zero selling fees. The buyer pays a Buyer Protection fee of 5% of the item price plus £0.70 on top.
Worked example: a record priced at £15 with £3 shipping on Discogs costs you 9% of £18, which is £1.62. The same record at £15 on Vinted costs you no selling fee. The buyer pays £1.45 in Buyer Protection (5% of £15 plus £0.70) on top of your price.
Parcel sizes for records on Vinted UK
Vinted’s parcel size limits set 2kg as the weight limit for standard items on every carrier. The size limits vary by carrier: 64 x 38 x 41cm for InPost, 61 x 46 x 46cm for Royal Mail 2nd Class Medium Parcel, and a combined measurement (length plus twice the width plus twice the height) of up to 245cm for Evri. Heavy items can go up to 20kg with Royal Mail or 15kg with Evri. Vinted picks the parcel size automatically from the listing details, such as category and item size. Box sets and bundles of LPs get heavy fast, so check that the size Vinted picked fits the packed parcel.
Offers and bundles
Buyers on Vinted can make an offer below your price. You can accept it, decline it, or send a different price back. An accepted offer does not reserve the item until the buyer presses Buy now.
Buyers can also bundle several of your listings into one order, up to 100 items, and make an offer on the whole bundle. That helps with cheap records, where postage on a single item can eat the margin. If you list a run of albums from one collection, expect some buyers to pick several at once.
