FINN.no vs Facebook Marketplace: Where to Sell Second-Hand in Norway
FINN Torget has Fiks ferdig shipping with the money held until delivery; Facebook Marketplace is free, local and arranged in Messenger. Fees, parcel prices, payouts, buyer rights and how FLUF Connect runs both.
If you sell second-hand in Norway, FINN.no Torget is the better choice for anything you can post. Its Fiks ferdig service lets a buyer in Tromsø pay for your jacket in Oslo, with the money held until the parcel arrives. Facebook Marketplace is a lighter, local option: no ad review, no shipping service, just you and a buyer arranging a pickup in Messenger. If you use both, put shippable items on FINN with Fiks ferdig and use Facebook for bulky things that need collecting nearby.
Is this for you?
This comparison is for private sellers and small resellers in Norway with used goods: clothes, electronics, furniture, children’s things, hobby gear. If you sell mostly fashion and want a younger audience, look at Tise as well. If you sell cars, boats or property, FINN has separate services for those, and neither section below applies.
How selling works on each
On FINN Torget you create an ad, choose between giving the item away or selling it, and fill in the fields. When everything required is filled in, the ad goes through FINN’s ad review and is then published, as described in FINN’s guide to creating a Torget ad. New Torget ads stay up for 365 days instead of the old 60, and FINN allows only one active ad per item, removing duplicates, according to FINN’s announcement of one-year ads.
Facebook Marketplace launched in Norway in August 2017, one of 17 European countries in the first rollout, Meta announced. You list from your personal Facebook profile, buyers message you, and you agree the price, payment and handover between you. Buyers can see your public profile and how long you have been on Facebook, which is the main trust signal.
What each one costs
Most private Torget ads cost nothing to publish. FINN shows the price for your ad type when you create it, and says some ads are free (FINN: what does advertising cost?). The exception is the category for car, boat and motorcycle equipment, which includes car parts, boat parts and camping gear. There an ad costs 29 kr when the price is under 2,000 kr and 79 kr above it, while “give away” ads stay free (FINN: ad fee on Torget). Extra visibility, such as a bump to the top of the results, is sold separately.
Facebook charges nothing to list on Marketplace. Its 10% selling fee applies to orders shipped through Facebook’s own checkout, which Value Added Resource reported when the rate doubled in April 2024. A local sale where the buyer pays you directly carries no Facebook fee.
Shipping and payment: Fiks ferdig
This is the biggest difference between the two. With Fiks ferdig, the buyer sends a purchase request at a price they choose and pays for the item and the shipping in advance, by card or Vipps. You have 48 hours to accept. Once you do, the money moves to a secure account with FINN’s payment partner Adyen, and you send the parcel with Helthjem, Posten or PostNord (FINN: how Fiks ferdig works). The buyer then has 24 hours after delivery to check the item. If they raise nothing, the sale completes.
The buyer pays the shipping, which FINN prices by parcel size and carrier in its Fiks ferdig questions and answers:
| Parcel | Max weight | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Small (35 × 25 × 12 cm) | 5 kg | Helthjem 38 kr, PostNord box 39 kr, Posten 55 kr |
| Medium | 10 kg | PostNord 109 kr, Posten 123 kr |
| Large | 20 kg | PostNord 179 kr, Posten 229 kr |
| Extra large | 35 kg | PostNord 229 kr, Posten 259 kr |
The buyer also pays a “Trygg betaling” (safe payment) fee that rises with the item’s price and is not refunded. Once the sale is complete, FINN sends the money to the account number in your profile, normally visible within 2 to 5 working days. Large furniture, fridges, washing machines and beds cannot go through Fiks ferdig, because parcels stop at 35 kg and 120 cm. You can use Fiks ferdig once per ad.
A worked example. You sell a winter jacket for 600 kr in a small parcel by Posten. The buyer pays 600 kr plus 55 kr shipping plus the Trygg betaling fee, and you receive 600 kr a few working days after they confirm. The same jacket on Facebook means agreeing a meeting point and taking 600 kr by Vipps when the buyer turns up, or arranging postage yourself and trusting them to pay first.
What buyers can claim
A sale between two private people on FINN gives the buyer no right of withdrawal, no exchange and no open purchase. If the item differs significantly from the ad, the buyer can ask for a price reduction, a fix or, for a major deviation, to cancel the sale. A return happens only if you agree (FINN: Fiks ferdig buyer rights). If you and the buyer cannot agree, FINN helps decide the case. On Facebook there is no one in the middle of a local sale: the buyer inspects the item before paying, and that is usually the end of it.
Trust and verification
FINN lets you verify your account with BankID, which shows a badge to other users. Most people do it voluntarily, but FINN can require it, for example to contact sellers in some categories or for activity that needs extra security. BankID needs a registered address in Norway, and one BankID can verify only one FINN account (FINN: why verify your account?). Businesses selling on FINN do not need to verify. Verify before you start listing in volume so a request does not hold up your ads.

Connecting FINN.no and Facebook in FLUF Connect
Both connect from the Channels screen through the FLUF browser extension or the FLUF mobile app, using the accounts you already sell from. Write the item once in FLUF, with photos, price and description, and send it to FINN, Facebook or both.

Neither marketplace reports its sales back to FLUF. When something sells on FINN or Facebook, mark it sold in FLUF straight away, and FLUF takes it off the other one and any other channel it is on. Start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | You save | Crosslisted products |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | £9/month | £85/year | 21% | Unlimited |
| Pro | £29/month | £155/year | 55% | Unlimited |
| Priority | Custom pricing — tell us what you need | Unlimited | ||
Automatic relisting, offer management, smart pricing and listing boosts are included from Pro upwards. Starter covers unlimited crosslisting, inventory sync, order sync and Instagram posting without them. Accounting integrations are included from Pro upwards. Yearly billing is charged once a year. New accounts get 7 days for £1, then move onto a plan.
Running both
Split by size. Anything that fits a 35 kg parcel goes on FINN with Fiks ferdig, so buyers across Norway can pay safely without meeting you. Sofas, white goods and other bulky items go on both FINN and Facebook with pickup only, since that is where local buyers look. Keep one ad per item on FINN, and when a buyer collects, mark the sale in FLUF before you do anything else.
