If you sell second-hand things in Norway, FINN.no is where most of your buyers already look. Its Torget section is the country’s general marketplace for used goods, from sofas and bikes to clothes and camera gear. Ads are cheap or free for private sellers, they now stay up for a year, and Fiks ferdig lets a buyer pay up front while the item travels by Helthjem, Posten or PostNord. FINN only serves sellers in Norway, so this guide is for people selling from a Norwegian address.

In short

  • New Torget ads run for 365 days. FINN allows one active ad per item and removes duplicates.
  • Private ad prices are shown when you create the ad, and some ad types are free.
  • Fiks ferdig: the buyer pays item and shipping up front, you have 48 hours to accept, and the money reaches your account 2 to 5 working days after the deal completes.
  • FLUF Connect can publish your FLUF products as FINN Torget ads and take them down when they sell somewhere else.

Who FINN suits

FINN was launched in 2000, and its owner Vend Marketplaces (formerly Schibsted) calls it Norway’s top site. Torget is the part of FINN for everyday goods, separate from its car, property and job sections. Furniture, electronics, sports gear, children’s things and clothes all sell there, and bulky items suit it well because many buyers still collect in person.

If your stock is mostly second-hand fashion, Tise is the Norwegian app built for it, and plenty of sellers run both. For large local items, Facebook Marketplace is the other place Norwegian buyers check.

What an ad costs and how long it lasts

FINN does not publish one price list for private sellers. Its help centre says the price appears when you create the ad, that some ad types are free, and that extra visibility products are offered just before you publish.

New Torget ads now last 365 days instead of 60. Ads published before the change still expire after their original 60 days, and an active ad cannot be extended. Once one expires, you can publish it again from Min FINN, under Mine annonser and then Utløpte annonser (My ads, then Expired ads).

The same help article sets a rule that matters if you sell on several sites: FINN allows only one active ad per product at a time, and duplicate ads are found and removed. Posting the same jacket three times to stay near the top will cost you the extra ads.

Fiks ferdig: shipping and payment through FINN

Fiks ferdig is FINN’s own way to sell at a distance. According to FINN’s guide to how it works, the buyer sends a purchase request and pays for the item and shipping in advance, by card or Vipps. You then have 48 hours to accept. Once you do, the money is held by FINN’s payment partner, Adyen, and Helthjem, Posten or PostNord give you the sending details. After delivery the buyer has 24 hours to check the item. If they do not put the deal on hold in that time, it completes.

The Fiks ferdig questions and answers list what shipping costs. The buyer pays it unless you choose to cover it, in which case it comes off your payout.

Parcel size Weight limit Price by carrier
Small Up to 5 kg Helthjem 38 kr, PostNord box 39 kr, Posten 55 kr, PostNord pick-up point 65 kr
Small plus (PostNord only) Up to 5 kg PostNord box 69 kr, PostNord pick-up point 89 kr
Medium Up to 10 kg PostNord 109 kr, Posten 123 kr
Large Up to 20 kg PostNord 179 kr, Posten 229 kr
Extra large Up to 35 kg PostNord 229 kr, Posten 259 kr

The same page sets out the rest. Small parcels are insured for up to 2,500 kr and the larger sizes for up to 10,000 kr. A parcel over its size or weight can be refused by the courier or bring a surcharge. Payment normally shows in your bank account 2 to 5 working days after the deal completes, longer over a weekend. You can use Fiks ferdig once per ad, and animals cannot be sent with it.

Say you sell a pair of hiking boots for 600 kr in a small parcel by Helthjem and offer to cover shipping. Your payout is 600 kr minus 38 kr, so 562 kr.

Ratings and BankID

FINN shows ratings on Torget profiles. After a Fiks ferdig sale, both sides are invited to rate the deal. For a sale paid and handed over outside FINN, you can only rate each other if you marked the ad as sold on FINN and talked to the buyer through FINN’s messages. Ratings appear once both have given one, or after three weeks.

Verifying your account with BankID puts a badge on your profile, and FINN says it can be required in some categories or for activity that needs extra security. You need a registered Norwegian address to get BankID, and one BankID can verify only one FINN account. Business advertisers do not need to verify. The steps are in FINN’s verification guide: open Min FINN and choose Verifiser med BankID (Verify with BankID).

What you cannot sell

FINN’s rules on what is allowed ban copies and replicas of branded goods, software, games, music and collectibles. That includes designer furniture copies bought from replica sellers abroad, which are illegal to resell in Norway. Weapons are allowed within the law, but stun guns, pepper spray, flick knives, knuckle-dusters and similar items are not.

Selling on FINN with FLUF Connect

FLUF Connect publishes your FLUF products to FINN Torget, so an item you already sell elsewhere can go to FINN without typing it again. When it sells on another channel, FLUF takes the FINN ad down, which also keeps you inside FINN’s one-ad-per-item rule.

Two things to sort out before your first ad. FINN needs the Norwegian postcode you sell from, and FLUF uses the one saved on your FINN account. If you have never set one, add it in Min FINN or publish one ad there by hand, then reconnect FINN in FLUF. And if FINN reviews an ad and rejects it asking you to verify, verify with BankID in Min FINN, then edit and save the ad on finn.no to send it back for review.

FLUF also connects eBay and Tise, so stock that sits too long on FINN can reach buyers beyond your region. Start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.
