Key takeaways

  • Bidra is a new Australian marketplace run by Bidra Pty Ltd. It is for buyers and sellers in Australia, aged 18 and over.
  • Standard listings are free and Bidra takes no percentage from the seller. On a Bidra Pay sale the buyer pays a fixed A$0.20 service fee plus card processing, and you receive the full listed price.
  • You sell with Buy Now or a Timed Offer. A Timed Offer never closes on its own: you choose whether to accept the highest offer.
  • Bidra has its own page for sellers who manage stock with FLUF. Once your Bidra account is connected, FLUF Connect can list your items there and keep stock in step with your other channels.

This guide is for Australian sellers who already list on eBay Australia, Gumtree Australia or Facebook Marketplace and want one more place to be found without paying a commission for it. Bidra is young. It does not publish buyer numbers, so treat it as a cheap extra channel rather than a replacement for the sites you already sell on. If you are outside Australia, it is not for you: Bidra says plainly that only Australian sellers can connect.

What Bidra is

Bidra calls itself “Australia’s marketplace”. It is run by Bidra Pty Ltd (ACN 702 221 074) and covers local buying and selling: general listings, a Wanted section where buyers post what they are looking for, and a directory where businesses can list themselves. Pickup, postage and delivery are all possible, and the details are agreed between buyer and seller in Bidra Messages.

Bidra’s terms say who can use it: adults aged 18 and over with accurate account details. Every seller has to say whether they are a private or a business seller. If you sell in trade, the Australian Consumer Law applies to you as it would anywhere else, including consumer guarantees, tax and record keeping.

Bidra is a venue, not a party to the sale. The terms state that the contract is between buyer and seller, and that Bidra is not an auctioneer, an escrow holder, a shipping provider or a pickup scheduler.

Bidra fees

Bidra’s fees page (last updated 27 September 2026) is short:

Charge Who pays Amount
Standard listing Seller Free
Browsing, messaging, making offers Anyone Free
Bidra service fee on a Bidra Pay sale Buyer A$0.20 per purchase
Card processing on a Bidra Pay sale Buyer Passed on at cost, shown at checkout
Percentage fee on the sale Seller None
Cash pickup sale Nobody 0% marketplace fee, no processing fee
Paid Featured (optional promotion) Seller A$4.99 for 7 days

A worked example: you list a pair of work boots at A$80 and a buyer pays with Bidra Pay. The buyer pays A$80, plus A$0.20, plus the card processing shown at checkout. You receive A$80, less only a refund if one is due later. Sell the same boots on eBay and the final value fee comes out of your A$80, so on Bidra you can price a little lower and still take home more.

Paid Featured is the only charge a seller can choose to pay. It runs for seven days and then stops by itself, so there is no subscription to remember to cancel.

Buy Now and Timed Offers

Bidra has two ways to sell, described on its How it works page:

  • Buy Now. The buyer commits at your listed price. Bidra treats this as a real commitment, not a casual hold.
  • Timed Offer. Buyers make offers during a window you set. Their maximum offers stay private. When the window closes, the highest offer is not accepted automatically: you decide whether to take it.

There are no auctions in the eBay sense. A Timed Offer is closer to a sealed bid that you are free to turn down, which suits one-off items whose value you are unsure of. For stock you already price elsewhere, Buy Now is simpler.

Getting paid: Bidra Pay or cash pickup

Each order records how the buyer will pay. Bidra Pay is the card checkout inside Bidra, run on Stripe. To take Bidra Pay you first complete the seller payout onboarding. Cash pickup is the other option, where you offer it.

The difference matters if something goes wrong. Bidra Pay refunds and disputes follow the order record. A cash pickup is still recorded as an order, but Bidra is clear that it carries no Bidra Pay protection, and any refund is between you and the buyer, subject to Australian consumer law. Bidra does not hold money in escrow. Its advice for local handovers is to inspect the item before paying and to keep the payment and handover details in the order conversation.

After payment, Bidra walks both sides through pickup, postage or delivery, handover confirmation, completion and feedback.

Postage and pickup

Bidra is not a shipping provider and does not sell postage labels. You agree pickup, postage or delivery with the buyer, and the listing shows which you offer. Price postage the way you would on Gumtree Australia: Australia Post’s own rates, or a flat rate that covers your usual parcel size. Local pickup with cash is the cheapest sale on the site for both sides, since neither pays a Bidra fee.

Listing well on Bidra

  • Write the title a local buyer would search. Brand, item, size or model, condition.
  • Show the location. Buyers check photos, condition, location and the pickup or postage options before they commit, according to Bidra’s own guide.
  • Pick Buy Now for priced stock. Use a Timed Offer when you would rather see what buyers will pay.
  • Check the prohibited list. Bidra keeps one on its prohibited items page.
  • One item per listing. Bidra’s import guidance says each published listing offers one item.

Selling on Bidra with FLUF Connect

Bidra has a Sell with FLUF page for sellers who already manage their stock in FLUF. You need an eligible Bidra seller account in Australia and your own FLUF account; the two are separate, and Bidra’s normal verification and listing rules still apply.

To connect, open the Channels screen in FLUF Connect, choose Bidra and follow the steps. Bidra asks you to approve FLUF’s access from inside your Bidra account. After that, this is what FLUF does on Bidra:

What you want On Bidra with FLUF Connect
List items you already sell elsewhere Yes, as Buy Now listings in Australian dollars
Bring in the Bidra listings you already have Yes
Change price or details from FLUF Yes
Item sells on another channel FLUF takes it off Bidra
Item sells on Bidra The order shows in FLUF and the item comes off your other channels
Buyer’s order cancelled before payment FLUF puts the item back on sale
Timed Offers, automatic relisting, offer handling No

Bidra asks every seller to confirm photos, description, condition, price, stock and location before selling, and that applies to listings sent from FLUF too. Look over your first few on Bidra before you send the rest.

Crosslisting and inventory sync are on every FLUF plan. Relisting, offer management and smart pricing are included from the Seller plan upwards, and none of them runs on Bidra today. You can start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month, and add Bidra next to the Australian channels you already use. The Australia page lists the others.

No. Bidra is an Australian marketplace and its FLUF connection is for Australian sellers only. Listings and payments are in Australian dollars.

Not in the eBay sense. You can use a Timed Offer, where buyers make private offers during a set window. When it ends you decide whether to accept the highest one; nothing is accepted automatically.

By card through Bidra Pay, which runs on Stripe, or in cash at pickup where you offer it. Bidra Pay needs you to finish payout onboarding first. Cash pickup sales are recorded as orders but have no Bidra Pay protection.

No. Bidra's fees page and terms both say it does not operate escrow. Refunds and disputes on Bidra Pay orders follow the order record.

It lists your items on Bidra as Buy Now listings, imports the Bidra listings you already have, and keeps stock in step: a sale elsewhere takes the item off Bidra, and a Bidra sale shows in FLUF and comes off your other channels. Timed Offers and automatic relisting are not supported.

Yes, FLUF and Bidra are separate. Crosslisting and inventory sync are on every FLUF plan, so the cheapest plan covers Bidra.
