Sell on StockX: how asks, fees and authentication work
StockX sells catalogue products, not your own listings. Here is how an ask works, what StockX charges, and how it fits alongside eBay, Depop, Vinted and Grailed.
- StockX is a catalogue marketplace. You place an ask on an existing product and size. You do not write a title, take photos or write a description.
- Good fit: new, unworn sneakers, apparel, accessories, electronics, trading cards and collectibles that already exist in StockX’s catalogue.
- Poor fit: anything used, anything not already listed on StockX, and one-off items you would normally describe yourself.
- Fees add up to 10–12% of the sale price: a transaction fee that falls as you sell more, plus a flat 3% processing fee.
- With FLUF Connect, you can place and update a StockX ask and FLUF removes it when the item sells on a channel FLUF watches. StockX sales are not picked up automatically: mark the sale in FLUF yourself, and FLUF ends the other listings. 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.

Is StockX the right channel for your stock?
StockX is not a place to write your own listing. It is a catalogue of specific products and sizes, and you place an ask against one that already exists. There is no field for your own title, your own photos or your own description.
That makes it a good fit for new, unworn stock that already has a page on StockX, from everyday releases to the biggest hype grails: sneakers, streetwear and apparel, accessories, electronics, trading cards and collectibles. StockX’s condition guidelines for the Verified Marketplace require items to be brand new, unworn and complete with original packaging and accessories. A worn pair of trainers, a used bag or an item with a damaged box does not qualify. If you already sell to a sneaker or streetwear audience on eBay, Depop, Vinted or Grailed, StockX is another outlet for the boxed, unworn part of that same stock.
It is a poor fit if your item is not already in the StockX catalogue, if it is used, or if you rely on your own photos and description to sell it, the way you would on eBay, Depop, Vinted or Grailed. If you sell mostly one-off or worn pieces, those channels stay the better fit and StockX becomes a channel for the parts of your stock that are new and boxed.
Who StockX is not for
Skip StockX if most of your stock is second-hand: a worn, faded coat, a used handbag with a scuffed corner, or a one-off vintage find. None of that has a place in the Verified Marketplace’s deadstock rules. Skip it too if your item is a small brand, a regional release or anything obscure enough that StockX has never stocked it: without a catalogue page, there is nothing to ask against. If most of your business is that kind of niche, one-off stock, keep your effort on channels built for a seller’s own description and photos.
How a StockX ask works
You do not create a listing from scratch. You choose the exact StockX product and the exact size, and you set an ask price. StockX supplies the product photos that buyers see; your own photos and your own title are not used.
If StockX cannot find the item in its catalogue, or there are several close matches, FLUF asks you to pick the right StockX product and size yourself before the ask goes live. Once the ask is set, you can change the price, and StockX matches it against buyer bids on its own.
If you already have live asks on StockX from before you connected FLUF, you can bring those into FLUF too.
StockX prices work by ask and bid, not a fixed sticker price. Your ask is what you are willing to sell for, and you choose how long it stays active. Buyers can only buy from the lowest ask on a product and size, so if yours is the lowest, a buyer meets it and the sale happens. You can lower your ask at any time to move up the queue.
Because the price is set against the product and size rather than your individual item, two sellers with the same trainer in the same size compete on price alone. There is no photo or description to set your ask apart from anyone else’s on the same page.
Sneaker product pages show US, UK, EU and centimetre size conversions side by side, so check which scale you are setting your ask against before you list.
Verified Marketplace, not Listings or Live
Everything above describes the Verified Marketplace, the deadstock, catalogue-only side of StockX. StockX also runs a Listings Marketplace for used and unique sneakers, shoes, apparel and accessories, where you pick a condition, write your own notes on wear or missing accessories, and add your own photos. There is also a Live Marketplace, a real-time auction inside the StockX app that you have to apply for. FLUF Connect only places and updates asks on the Verified Marketplace catalogue. If you want to sell a used or one-off item through StockX’s other marketplaces, do that directly on StockX rather than through FLUF.
Seller levels and fees
StockX runs a Seller Program with five levels. Your level is set by how much you sell in a calendar quarter, by sales count or by total value, whichever you reach first. Reaching a level keeps its benefits for the rest of that quarter and the whole of the next one.
| Level | Quarterly sales to qualify | Transaction fee |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | None | 9.0% |
| 2 | 12 sales or $1,500 | 8.5% |
| 3 | 40 sales or $5,000 | 8.0% |
| 4 | 200 sales or $25,000 | 7.5% |
| 5 | 800 sales or $100,000 | 7.0% |
On top of the transaction fee, StockX charges every seller a flat 3% payment processing fee. Together that is 10% to 12% of the sale price, depending on your level. UK sellers pay a minimum transaction fee of £4.50 per sale, whatever the sale price. Levels 3 to 5 carry an extra condition: if you fail to ship 5% or more of your orders within a month, StockX adds a penalty fee the following month for each order you missed, on top of the transaction fee.
Worked example: a pair of trainers at Level 1
You sell a pair for £150 (GBP) as a new Level 1 seller. The same maths applies in dollars or euros; only the currency and the minimum fee change.
- Transaction fee, 9% of £150: £13.50.
- Payment processing fee, 3% of £150: £4.50.
- Total fees: £18.00 (12% of the sale).
- You receive £132.00 before your own shipping cost to StockX.
At Level 3 (40 sales or $5,000 in a quarter), the same £150 trainer carries an 11% total (8% plus 3%): £16.50 in fees and a £133.50 payout. At Level 5 it drops to a 10% total (7% plus 3%): £15 in fees and a £135 payout. The gap between Level 1 and Level 5 on one sale is small; it adds up once you are shipping dozens of pairs a month. Build that margin into your price rather than working it out after the fact: an item that is not unopened and pristine in the box will not pass authentication regardless of price.
Shipping and authentication
On the Verified Marketplace, StockX gives sellers two business days to ship after a sale, or five business days if the item sold on its release day. You pay for shipping to the StockX authentication centre yourself; a prepaid label is available through StockX Pro. UK sellers ship to StockX’s authentication centre in London.
StockX’s packaging instructions ask for the invoice inside the box, a box no more than two inches larger than the item on each side, bubble wrap or packing paper around the contents, and any hazardous-material labels removed from the outside. Seal every seam and flap with wide packing tape before you attach the StockX label and drop it off.
If you need more time, StockX lets you request a short extension on the order before the window closes. Miss it anyway and StockX cancels the order, refunds the buyer, and charges you a $15 penalty fee or the local-currency equivalent. Repeated late shipments can lead to a higher transaction fee, account restrictions or suspension.
If the item that arrives does not match the listing, or turns out to be counterfeit, StockX can charge a penalty fee, taken from your payout or your card on file. StockX is not obliged to return a non-conforming item, and a counterfeit can be destroyed or handed to the authorities at your expense.
VAT for EU sellers
If you are VAT-registered and ship from the Netherlands, StockX requires you to apply 21% Dutch VAT to your sales; StockX raises a self-billing invoice, but you remain responsible for paying and reporting that VAT to the Dutch tax authorities yourself. VAT-registered sellers elsewhere in the EU shipping to a StockX verification centre are zero-rated instead, and StockX self-accounts for the VAT. If you are not VAT-registered, no VAT invoice is needed. Enter your VAT number in your StockX account settings so it is applied correctly.
Getting paid
StockX releases your payout on the day the item passes verification and ships, as part of a consolidated payout run each evening. Payout methods are PayPal, bank transfer, and, for US sellers only, Venmo or a debit card. International sellers are paid through Hyperwallet, a PayPal service; US sellers use StockX’s own wallet. Prepaid cards are not accepted.
What sells on StockX
StockX’s categories are sneakers and shoes, apparel and streetwear, accessories, electronics, trading cards, and collectibles. Every item still needs to exist in StockX’s own catalogue before you can list it.
- Sneakers and shoes: Nike, Adidas, Jordan, Yeezy, New Balance, ASICS and Puma, plus Birkenstock, Crocs, Timberland and UGG.
- Apparel and streetwear: labels such as Supreme, BAPE, Kith, Off-White, Balenciaga, Denim Tears and Travis Scott collaborations.
- Accessories: watches such as Rolex, and designer bags from houses such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Goyard and Givenchy, plus belts, sunglasses and headwear.
- Electronics: games consoles such as the PlayStation and Xbox, portable consoles such as the Nintendo Switch, phones and earbuds such as the iPhone and AirPods, laptops such as the MacBook, and computer parts such as graphics cards.
- Trading cards: Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, and sports cards for basketball, football and baseball, both graded and ungraded.
- Collectibles: figures, plushes, art prints, skate decks and blind boxes from brands such as LEGO, Bearbrick, KAWS, Funko Pop and Pop Mart, plus graded comic books, which StockX requires to carry a CGC Universal Grade of 6.0 to 10.0 with no holder damage.
The condition bar differs a little by category, though the theme is the same across all of them: no sign the item has been used. Sneakers and shoes need the original box. Electronics need sealed packaging and every accessory that came in the box, with no sign of damage or tampering. Apparel needs to be unworn, with any tags or extra pieces that came with it. Collectibles such as figures and blind boxes cannot have marks, discolouration or a damaged box.
StockX Pro
StockX Pro is StockX’s own dashboard for sellers, separate from the regular stockx.com site. It is open to any seller and adds bulk listing, bulk shipping and a shipping-label tool alongside your regular account. Higher-volume sellers also get access to Flex and Sponsored Asks through StockX Pro. FLUF Connect works alongside your normal StockX seller account; you do not need StockX Pro to connect FLUF, though nothing stops you using both.
Where you can sell from
StockX runs seller accounts in a wide range of countries, including the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and much of the EU, and the list grows over time. Check StockX’s own eligibility page for your country before you set up an account.
Selling on StockX with FLUF Connect
This is what it does today:
| Task | Supported |
|---|---|
| Place an ask on an existing StockX product and size | Yes |
| Update the ask price | Yes |
| Bring in asks you already had on StockX | Yes |
| Detect a StockX sale automatically | No. Mark it sold in FLUF yourself. |
| Remove the StockX ask when the item sells elsewhere | Yes, on channels FLUF watches for a sale |
| Relisting, offers, smart pricing | No. StockX has no equivalent. |
The two directions work differently, so treat them separately rather than assuming one covers the other.
A sale on eBay, Depop, Vinted or Shopify ends your StockX ask automatically, because FLUF detects sales on those channels. A sale on Grailed does not: FLUF does not detect Grailed sales, so a Grailed sale never triggers anything on StockX by itself. You would end the StockX ask, or mark the item sold in FLUF, by hand.
The reverse case is the one to remember: FLUF never sees a StockX sale on its own. When something sells on StockX, mark it sold in FLUF. FLUF then ends the listing on the other channels it can remove from, including eBay, Depop, Vinted and Grailed.
You set your ask price in FLUF; the StockX product photos and description stay StockX’s own, and you review the match before it goes live.
How to connect
- In FLUF Connect, open Channels and choose StockX. You sign in to StockX directly; no browser extension is needed for this channel.
- Add your products in FLUF as usual. For each one, FLUF looks for a match in the StockX catalogue.
- Confirm the match. Where FLUF finds no match, or more than one, choose the exact StockX product and size yourself.
- Set your ask price and list one item first to see how the match and the price line up before you list the rest.
- Mark StockX sales as sold in FLUF so your listings on other channels come down when something sells there.

No. StockX only sells items already in its catalogue, in new and unworn condition. If a product or size is not in the catalogue, or you cannot match it exactly, you cannot list it there.
A transaction fee that starts at 9% for a new seller and drops as you sell more, plus a flat 3% payment processing fee on every sale. There's a minimum charge either way, so check it against low-value items before you list them.
No. StockX supplies the product photos and description from its own catalogue page. Your ask sets the price against the exact product and size.
Not automatically. Mark the sale as sold in FLUF yourself, and FLUF then ends the item's listings on the other channels it can remove from.
It does if FLUF detects sales on that channel, which covers eBay, Depop, Vinted, Shopify and others. Grailed sales are not detected by FLUF, so a Grailed sale will not remove a StockX ask on its own.
Two business days after the sale, or five if the item sold on its release day. Missing the window can cancel the order and add a $15 penalty fee.
No. StockX has no relisting or offer feature, so FLUF does not offer it there either. Those tools work on channels like Vinted, Depop, eBay and Etsy on plans above Starter.
You can try it with a 7-day trial for £1. After that, Starter starts at £9/month with unlimited listings, and crosslisting, inventory sync, order sync and bulk operations are included on every plan.
