Crosslist from Allegro to Etsy — Which Polish Stock Is Actually Eligible

Most Allegro catalogues are not Etsy-eligible at all. But the slice that is happens to be the exact slice Allegro's own cross-border programme refuses to export — which is the real argument.

Key Takeaways — Allegro to Etsy Crosslisting

  • Start with the uncomfortable part: most Allegro catalogues are not eligible for Etsy at all. Not “will struggle” — ineligible. Etsy’s Seller Policy, effective 9 July 2026, requires that “everything listed for sale on Etsy must be made, designed, handpicked, or sourced by a seller“, and states that “dropshipping and reselling are not allowed on Etsy“. A Polish business reselling new branded consumer goods has no route in.
  • The framing changed in 2026. “Handmade, vintage or craft supplies” is no longer the operative wording — it is now the four-lane Creativity Standards. The 20-year vintage rule survives intact inside them.
  • But the slice that is Etsy-legal is exactly the slice Allegro cannot export for you. Allegro’s cross-border programme requires the condition parameter to be Nowy — used and refurbished are barred outside Motoryzacja — and it reaches only Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. On a private Konto Zwykłe, nothing reaches any buyer outside Poland at all. Etsy, by contrast, takes 74% of its gross merchandise sales from US buyers.
  • Allegro’s own Rękodzieło categories map cleanly onto Etsy’s lanes: handmade jewellery, clothing, textiles, cards and ornaments at 11% commission capped at PLN 210; amber craft supplies at 14%.
  • The trap that catches Polish sellers: resold Bolesławiec pottery is not Etsy-legal. It is a commercially available item under 20 years old. Only a seller who makes it, or who curates genuinely 20-year-old pieces, qualifies. Etsy names this failure mode explicitly.
  • You will be paid in euros, not złoty. PLN is not one of Etsy’s supported payment currencies — Polish sellers have fees deducted and deposits made in EUR. List in EUR or pay a 2.5% conversion fee on top.
  • No Etsy shipping labels in Poland. Etsy offers labels only in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US. There is no Poczta Polska or InPost integration; you buy labels from the carrier and paste tracking in by hand.
  • Cost: FLUF Connect is £1 for 7 days, then plans from £9/month (Starter — 300 products). There is no free plan.

Etsy’s eligibility gate, and who fails it

Etsy is the only major marketplace that decides who may sell before it decides what they may charge, and the rule was rewritten in 2026. The Seller Policy effective 9 July 2026 states that “everything listed for sale on Etsy must be made, designed, handpicked, or sourced by a seller”, and that “dropshipping and reselling are not allowed on Etsy, except in the specific cases outlined in this Help article, such as craft supplies.”

The detail lives in Etsy’s Creativity Standards, which define four lanes:

Lane What qualifies What explicitly does not
Made by a seller Handcrafted, hand-altered or hand-assembled; produced by the seller on their own laser cutter, 3D printer, CNC or Cricut from their own design “A commercially available base item with only superficial alteration, such as addition of a simple, mass-produced stick-on adornment”
Designed by a seller Original designs made by a disclosed production partner; digital downloads; seller-prompted AI creations, which must be disclosed Designs the seller did not originate
Handpicked by a seller Vintage: items 20+ years old that the seller personally curated or collected. Etsy may ask for photo documentation, source, age, designer or materials “Resold commercially available items that are newer than 20 years old, even if the item is designed to appear vintage
Sourced by a seller Craft supplies, party supplies, buyer-personalised print-on-demand “Resold blank items that are ready to use without craft intervention, such as blank t-shirts, hats, or tumblers”; generic cooking tools, chemical compounds, automotive parts, office, construction, gardening, cosmetic or home DIY supplies

Etsy’s help centre puts it more bluntly still: “Reselling mass-produced items is not allowed on Etsy“, and the prohibited list includes “selling handicrafts or fair trade items that were not made or designed by the seller”.

Now line that up against what Allegro is. Its largest commission categories are Elektronika, Motoryzacja, Dom i ogród, Moda and Książki — electronics, phones, appliances, branded fashion, books, tools, car parts, cosmetics, home DIY. That list is close to Etsy’s prohibited list, item for item.

If you are a Polish business reselling new branded goods on Allegro, this page will not help you and no crosslisting tool can. Etsy will remove the listings, keep the non-refundable listing fees, and may suspend the shop. Etsy also said in July 2026 that it is making “expanded use of large language model based technologies” for enforcement, so the odds of quietly getting away with it are falling rather than rising.

The slice that qualifies — mapped to Allegro’s own categories

The good news is that Allegro has real handmade and vintage categories, and they map onto Etsy’s lanes with unusual precision.

Allegro category Allegro commission Etsy lane
Kolekcje i sztuka → Rękodzieło → Przedmioty ręcznie wykonane — bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings, handmade clothing, textiles, cards and invitations, seasonal ornaments 11%, capped at PLN 210 Made by a seller
Kolekcje i sztuka → Rękodzieło → Biżuteria – półprodukty → Bursztyn (amber), beads, stones 14% Sourced by a seller — craft supplies
Kolekcje i sztuka → Design i Antyki → Ceramika, Antykwariat 11%, capped at PLN 210 Handpicked — only if genuinely 20+ years old
Rękodzieło → Decoupage, Makrama, Szycie, Dziewiarstwo, Scrapbooking, Filcowanie, Quilling supplies Varies Sourced by a seller

Two traps worth calling out before you plan around this.

Bolesławiec pottery bought from the manufacturer and resold is not Etsy-legal. It is a commercially available item under twenty years old. Only a seller who makes it, or who curates genuinely 20-year-old pieces, qualifies — and Etsy names this exact scenario in its prohibited list. The same logic applies to any Polish craft brand you stock rather than make.

Amber is two different things. Finished amber jewellery you made yourself is “Made by a seller”. Loose amber beads and cabochons are craft supplies, which is “Sourced by a seller” and equally fine. Amber jewellery you bought wholesale and resold is neither.

The amber VAT trap — a Poland-specific fact worth more than the rest of this section

If amber is your category, there is a rule that catches almost everyone and it has nothing to do with Etsy.

Poland’s small-business VAT exemption — raised to 240,000 PLN of annual turnover from 1 January 2026 — does not apply to suppliers of goods listed in Annex 12 of the VAT Act. And Annex 12 names, explicitly, wyroby z bursztynu — amber articles — alongside jewellery of precious metal or metal clad with precious metal (ustawa o VAT, consolidated text Dz.U. 2025 poz. 775, art. 113 ust. 13 and Annex 12).

So a Polish seller of amber goods, or of amber set in silver, cannot use the exemption at all, at any turnover. They must register as a VAT czynny taxpayer before the first sale, charge 23% VAT and file from day one. Poland’s flagship craft export is on the excluded list by name.

Two qualifications. Amber on a leather cord or in base metal appears not to be caught, but that boundary is exactly the kind of question worth an interpretacja indywidualna rather than an assumption. And this is a VAT question only — the income-tax działalność nierejestrowana regime described below is separate, so you can be inside it while being a fully registered VAT payer.

Why Etsy, when Allegro is so much bigger

Allegro is enormous in its own market. Group gross merchandise value was PLN 69.7bn in 2025, with 20.4 million active buyers across the group and 15.5 million in Poland, and more than 146,000 selling partners (Allegro Q4 2025 results; Q1 2026 results). By audience reach in July 2026 it had 18.3 million real users in Poland against Amazon’s 7.6 million, with roughly eighteen times the average time on site.

So why look elsewhere? Because of a ceiling that has nothing to do with size.

A private Allegro account cannot sell abroad at all. Allegro’s terms are explicit: a user with a Konto Zwykłe “may not create Offers with delivery outside Poland”, and such offers “are shown in search results only to Users who have selected a delivery location in Poland.”

And a business account’s cross-border reach is three countries and new goods only. Allegro’s international markets are Czechia (May 2023), Slovakia (February 2024) and Hungary (October 2024). To share an offer onto them, Allegro requires the Kup teraz format, a link to the product catalogue, a translation, a price in local currency — and a condition parameter of Nowy. Offers with other condition values, “for example Używany (used) or seller-refurbished, are permitted only in the Motoryzacja category” (Allegro help centre).

Read those two rules together and the conclusion is sharp: vintage cannot leave Poland on Allegro at any account level. Handmade can, in principle, because handmade is new — but only to three neighbouring countries.

Etsy’s answer to that is 74% of gross merchandise sales from US buyers, against a marketplace that took $2.58bn of GMS in Q2 2026, up 7.5% year on year — its third consecutive quarter of growth after two years of decline (Etsy Q2 2026 results, 5 August 2026). For a Polish maker or vintage curator, that is the entire argument.

Be realistic about the other side of the ledger, though. Etsy’s active sellers fell 1.5% in 2025 to 5.6 million, and the company cut around 220 roles — roughly 12% of its workforce — in August 2026. It is a marketplace that has stabilised, not one that is booming.

Fees on both sides

Allegro (Rękodzieło) Etsy (Polish seller)
Listing fee Free. “Listing an offer is free. The only basic fee is the sales commission.” $0.20 per listing, charged on publish whether or not it sells; expires after 4 months, auto-renews at $0.20
Commission 11% capped at PLN 210 for handmade; 14% for amber craft supplies 6.5% transaction fee, on a base including shipping and gift wrap
Payment processing No separate seller fee disclosed 4% + €0.30 per order, on the total including shipping and tax — and itself subject to VAT
Advertising Allegro Ads from PLN 0.50–0.75 minimum CPC; minimum daily budget PLN 3. Wyróżnienie PLN 19.90 per 10 days (PLN 5.90 in fashion and jewellery) plus 0.75× the category commission Offsite Ads 15%, or 12% and mandatory for the lifetime of the shop once you have ever passed $10,000 in a trailing year. Capped at $100 per attributed order
Currency conversion None domestically 2.5% where shop currency differs from the payout currency
Regulatory operating fee None in Poland — it applies in nine countries and Poland is not one
Optional subscription Abonament from PLN 49 to PLN 3,000 per 30 days, business accounts only Etsy Plus $10/month

Worked comparison on a handmade PLN 200 piece, roughly €47: Allegro takes about PLN 22 and nothing to list. Etsy takes 6.5% plus 4% plus €0.30, so around 10.5% plus €0.30, plus $0.20 to list — before any Offsite Ads charge.

The base rates are broadly comparable. The differences that matter are structural rather than arithmetic: Etsy charges you every four months whether or not the item sells, and the Offsite Ads fee stops being optional the moment you cross $10,000 — permanently, voiding any earlier opt-out.

One Allegro detail worth knowing since you are keeping that channel too: a promotion fee is not just the sticker price. Wyróżnienie costs PLN 19.90 for ten days and adds 0.75 times the category commission on top. That second component is easy to miss.

Getting paid: euros, not złoty

This surprises nearly every Polish seller and it changes how you should configure the shop.

Poland is an Etsy Payments country, so no Payoneer detour is needed. But PLN is not one of Etsy’s supported payment currencies. Etsy states that sellers located in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Romania “will have all fees deducted from their payment account in their designated payment account currency, the Euro.”

Three consequences:

  • You are paid in EUR into a Polish bank account, so your bank’s FX spread applies on every deposit, on top of whatever Etsy charges.
  • If your shop currency is not EUR, Etsy adds its own 2.5% currency conversion fee. The cheapest configuration is therefore to set the shop currency to EUR.
  • The EUR daily deposit minimum is €20, with weekly deposits by default.

Shipping from Poland, without Etsy labels

Etsy’s own help centre is unambiguous: “We offer shipping labels for sellers in Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US.” Its carrier list runs Australia Post, Canada Post, FedEx, Global Postal Shipping, UPS, USPS, Royal Mail and Evri. There is no Poczta Polska and no InPost integration.

Practically, a Polish seller buys labels from the carrier directly and pastes the tracking number into Etsy by hand. That also forfeits the dispatch-score credit Etsy grants for labels bought on-platform, which feeds Star Seller status.

Because calculated shipping is US and Canada only, Poland uses fixed-cost shipping, and Etsy requires a processing time and a transit time on every listing or shipping profile. Your obligation is the ship-by date with valid proof — which, with no Etsy labels, is manual proof.

How to crosslist from Allegro to Etsy

  1. Audit for eligibility first. Before anything technical, work out which of your Allegro offers sit inside one of Etsy’s four lanes. For most sellers this is a small fraction, and knowing that now saves a shop.
  2. Create a FLUF Connect account and start the £1 seven-day trial.
  3. Connect Allegro via OAuth. A useful quirk: reading your Allegro catalogue works from any account type. The business-account requirement bites on creating Allegro offers through the API, not on reading them — so a private Allegro seller can still index their catalogue and push it to Etsy.
  4. Connect Etsy via OAuth and set your shop currency to EUR.
  5. Import and filter. Bring the catalogue into FLUF, then select only the eligible slice.
  6. Rewrite for a different buyer. Allegro listings are catalogue entries built around parameters; Etsy listings are stories built around 13 tags and a 140-character title. A parameter dump will not sell.
  7. Set up shipping profiles with a processing time and a transit time, and decide your international destinations deliberately.
  8. Publish a handful first. Etsy’s listing fee is charged on publish and is not refundable, so a mistake made at scale costs real money before a single sale.

What transfers, field by field

Allegro field Etsy field Transfer status Notes
Offer title Title ✅ Automatic Etsy allows 140 characters, and the listing URL is frozen from the first published title and never changes
Description Description ✅ Automatic Translate it — Etsy translates categories and attributes automatically but title, description and tags are manual
Price (PLN) Price ⚡ Re-priced Set the shop currency to EUR to avoid the 2.5% conversion fee
Photos Photos ✅ Automatic Etsy allows up to 20 — more than most sources say — plus two videos of 5–15 seconds
Category Category ⚡ Smart mapped Allegro’s tree is far deeper and more parameter-driven
Stan (condition) ⚠️ Determines eligibility Not a field so much as a gate: “used” only qualifies via the 20-year vintage lane
Category parameters Attributes ⚡ Partially mapped Etsy attributes are shallower and category-dependent
Warianty Variations ⚡ Mapped Etsy allows 3 variation types; up to 2,500 combinations with three types, 4,900 with one or two
Stock quantity Quantity ✅ Automatic Note Etsy charges another $0.20 for each additional unit sold from a multi-quantity listing
Tags ⚠️ Manual 13 tags, 20 characters each. Allegro has no equivalent, so this is new work and it is where Etsy search lives
“How it’s made” and production partner ⚠️ Mandatory Required, and the honest answer here is what keeps the shop open
Cennik dostawy Shipping profile ⚡ Rebuilt Etsy needs processing and transit times; no labels available in Poland
GTIN / EAN ❌ Not used Etsy has no catalogue-linking requirement
Warunki zwrotów, reklamacji, faktury ❌ Not transferred Etsy has its own returns policy model

One structural difference worth understanding. Allegro requires that every offer be linked to a catalogue Product — an unlinked offer “is invisible on Allegro and has no effect”. Handmade and art categories get an exemption via produkty tymczasowe, temporary products created for unique items. Etsy has no catalogue at all: a listing is free-standing. Coming this direction that is a release rather than a constraint, but it means the parameter discipline Allegro enforced for you is now yours to maintain.

VAT, OSS and the reverse-charge trap

Orientation, not advice — take proper advice.

Etsy does not collect EU VAT for you. This is the opposite of what many sellers assume. Etsy’s position is that “for non-EU sellers, Etsy will charge and remit the VAT due on the seller’s behalf” — as a Polish seller you are inside the EU and therefore liable yourself.

Etsy’s own summary of the thresholds: sales to other EU countries below €10,000 a year may be charged at your domestic rate and reported in your normal Polish return; above €10,000, the One-Stop Shop lets you settle EU-wide VAT in a single return.

The UK is handled differently. Where the package value excluding delivery is £135 or less, “Etsy is solely responsible to collect and remit VAT to HMRC” and neither you nor the carrier should collect it. Above £135, Etsy does not collect and duties fall to import.

The United States matters most, given 74% of Etsy GMS. Etsy provides a US estimated tariffs calculator to non-US sellers whose shipping profile includes the US, and recommends shipping delivered-duty-paid.

The reverse-charge trap on Etsy’s own fees. If you have not given Etsy a VAT ID, Etsy charges VAT on your seller fees and invoices you monthly. If you have submitted one, Etsy does not charge it — which is the reverse-charge position, and means you must account for the VAT on those services yourself in Poland. Sellers frequently read “you won’t be charged” as “there is nothing to do”. There is.

Polish tax and DAC7 — the 2026 changes

Działalność nierejestrowana is now a quarterly limit. From 1 January 2026 the threshold for unregistered activity is set per quarter, at PLN 10,813.50 — 225% of the gross minimum wage of PLN 4,806 (biznes.gov.pl). Other conditions: no business activity in the preceding 60 months, and on exceeding the limit you have 7 days to register in CEIDG. Even unregistered, you owe a simplified sales register, an annual PIT-36, consumer rights including the 14-day distance-selling withdrawal right, and invoices on request.

The statutory test for full działalność gospodarcza is activity that is organised, profit-making, continuous and conducted in your own name.

DAC7 applies on both platforms, and Etsy enforces it hard. Etsy reports an EU seller when any of these is true in a calendar year: 30 or more transactions in physical goods; €2,000 or more in physical-goods sales after taxes and fees; or any sale of a made-to-order digital item. Reported data for individuals includes name, address, date of birth, bank account number, tax identification number and VAT number where held.

The enforcement mechanism is worth knowing in advance: if you do not supply the data, Etsy forces your shop into Vacation Mode — listings drop out of search and you cannot receive orders. Allegro’s terms carry the same obligation, citing the Polish implementing act of 23 May 2024.

What syncs and what does not

Behaviour Supported Detail
Read your Allegro catalogue Yes Works on any Allegro account type, private included
Create, edit and delete Etsy listings Yes Via Etsy’s API
Sells on Etsy → Allegro stock reduced Yes Protects you from selling a one-off twice
Sells on Allegro → cleared from Etsy Yes Allegro mark-as-sold is supported
Etsy relisting Yes Etsy is a relisting-enabled channel
Etsy order sync Yes Etsy orders are read into FLUF
Allegro order sync No Allegro revenue does not appear in FLUF’s order figures
Creating Allegro offers from FLUF Business accounts only A private Allegro account can be read but not listed to — the API refuses offer creation from a Regular account

That last row is the one to plan around if you are considering the reverse direction. Reading works for everyone; writing to Allegro requires a Konto Firma. Coming from Allegro to Etsy, as this page describes, it does not affect you.

Mistakes that cost listings

Pushing the whole catalogue. Etsy’s listing fee is charged on publish and is not refundable, so an ineligible bulk push costs money before the removals arrive.

Listing resold Polish craft brands. Commercially available and under twenty years old is not vintage, however traditional the object.

Leaving the shop currency in a non-EUR setting. A pointless 2.5% on every order, given you are paid in euros regardless.

Copying Allegro titles. A parameter-dense catalogue title is not an Etsy title — and remember the URL is frozen from the first one you publish.

Ignoring the 13 tags. Allegro has no equivalent, so it is easy to skip. It is also where Etsy search actually happens.

Assuming Etsy handles your EU VAT. It does that for non-EU sellers. You are an EU seller.

Submitting a VAT ID and then forgetting the reverse charge. “You won’t be charged” is not “nothing to do”.

Missing the DAC7 data request. Vacation Mode is not a warning shot; your shop stops trading.

What FLUF Connect costs

FLUF Connect is £1 for 7 days, then plans from £9/month (Starter — 300 products). The rest of your first month is charged after the seven days, so you are not paying more, just not all of it up front. There is no free plan.

Automation — relisting, offer management and bulk operations — is included in every plan, not sold as a paid add-on. Etsy is one of {channel_count} channels FLUF drives. Full details on the pricing page.

Sources and verification

Some things we deliberately do not claim. There is no credible measured figure for Allegro’s share of Polish e-commerce by value, so we cite audience reach instead and say which it is. Etsy publishes no country-level seller or buyer counts, so we give none for Poland. And we make no claims about export demand for amber, Bolesławiec ceramics, folk art or linen, because we could not source them — the eligibility and cross-border arguments on this page stand on their own without them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only the part that clears Etsy's eligibility gate, which for most Allegro sellers is a small fraction. Etsy's Seller Policy requires everything to be made, designed, handpicked or sourced by the seller, and states that dropshipping and reselling are not allowed. A Polish business reselling new branded consumer goods is not eligible at all — Etsy removes the listings, keeps the non-refundable listing fees and may suspend the shop.

Kolekcje i sztuka, Rękodzieło, Przedmioty ręcznie wykonane — handmade jewellery, clothing, textiles, cards and ornaments at 11% commission capped at PLN 210 — maps to Etsy's "Made by a seller" lane. Amber and other jewellery half-products at 14% map to "Sourced by a seller" as craft supplies. Design i Antyki and Antykwariat map to "Handpicked", but only where the item is genuinely 20 or more years old.

Only if you make it yourself, or if the pieces are genuinely 20 or more years old and you personally curated them. Pottery bought from the manufacturer and resold is a commercially available item under 20 years old, which Etsy's Creativity Standards exclude explicitly — and Etsy's prohibited list names selling handicrafts that were not made or designed by the seller. The same logic applies to any Polish craft brand you stock rather than make.

Because Allegro's international reach is narrow and excludes exactly what Etsy wants. A private Konto Zwykłe may not create offers with delivery outside Poland at all. A business account can share offers to Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary only, and only where the condition parameter is Nowy — used and refurbished are barred outside Motoryzacja. So vintage cannot leave Poland on Allegro at any account level, while 74% of Etsy's sales come from US buyers.

Euros, not złoty. PLN is not one of Etsy's supported payment currencies, and Etsy states that sellers in Poland have all fees deducted and deposits made in EUR. Two consequences: your bank's FX spread applies on every deposit, and if your shop currency is not EUR you also pay Etsy's 2.5% conversion fee. Setting the shop currency to EUR is the cheapest configuration.

No. Etsy offers shipping labels only in Australia, Canada, the UK and the US, and there is no Poczta Polska or InPost integration. You buy labels from the carrier directly and paste the tracking number into Etsy by hand, which also forfeits the dispatch-score credit Etsy grants for on-platform labels. Because calculated shipping is US and Canada only, Poland uses fixed-cost shipping with a required processing and transit time.

Not as an EU seller. Etsy charges and remits VAT on behalf of non-EU sellers; as a Polish seller you are liable yourself. Below €10,000 of sales to other EU countries you may charge your domestic rate and report normally; above it, One-Stop Shop settles EU-wide VAT in one return. For the UK, Etsy does collect where the package value excluding delivery is £135 or less.

Etsy stops charging VAT on your seller fees — which is the reverse-charge position, not an exemption. You then have to account for the VAT on those services yourself in Poland. Sellers frequently read "you won't be charged" as "there is nothing to do", and there is. Without a VAT ID, Etsy charges the VAT and invoices you monthly.

From 1 January 2026 the działalność nierejestrowana limit is set quarterly rather than monthly, at PLN 10,813.50 — 225% of the PLN 4,806 gross minimum wage. You must also have had no business activity in the preceding 60 months, and on exceeding the limit you have seven days to register in CEIDG. Even unregistered you owe a simplified sales register, an annual PIT-36 and consumer rights including the 14-day withdrawal right.

Yes, if any one of three triggers is met in a calendar year: 30 or more transactions in physical goods, €2,000 or more in physical-goods sales after taxes and fees, or any sale of a made-to-order digital item. Note the enforcement mechanism — if you do not supply the requested data, Etsy forces your shop into Vacation Mode, so listings drop out of search and you cannot receive orders. Allegro carries the same obligation.
