Where Whatnot will accept you as a seller
Whatnot operates in the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, and in the European Union: Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. If you are not in one of those countries, Whatnot has no shop for you yet. Cardmarket, eBay and other platforms cover more ground.
Getting approved to sell on Whatnot
StockX issues credentials upfront. Whatnot requires an application first.
The application asks for three things: a government-issued photo ID, an active bank account in the right currency, and a short video (30–60 seconds) showing your products. Whatnot wants evidence that you have real stock, not perfect descriptions. The video does not need to be polished.
Approval takes 5–14 business days typically, longer for high-demand categories like sneakers. Usually you get instant access after approval. Sometimes Whatnot asks follow-up questions via email. Start the process well before you plan your first show.
The sneaker category on Whatnot
The Sneakers & Streetwear category on Whatnot requires that you be approved to sell in it. Once approved, there are no hidden restrictions. Whatnot’s sneaker guidelines ask that you state the condition of each pair clearly, either in the title or by describing it on camera, and disclose any flaws. That is the level of detail buyers expect when they are watching you live.
Unlike Luxury Bags & Accessories, which requires third-party authentication certificates, sneakers do not carry that requirement on Whatnot. What Whatnot takes from your sneaker sales
Whatnot’s fee structure differs between the US and the UK/EU.
In the United States and Canada, the commission is 8% of the sale price, plus 2.9% plus $0.30 payment processing, totalling roughly 10.9% to 11% all in.
In the UK and EU, the rates are 6.67% plus VAT (8%), plus 2.42% plus £0.25 or €0.25 plus VAT, bringing the total closer to 11% as well, depending on VAT.
One note: since 14 January 2026, Whatnot charges no commission on the portion of an order above £1,500, $1,500 or €1,500 in some categories, but Sneakers is not listed as one of them. Plan for the full fee.
What transfers when you crosslist from StockX to Whatnot
FLUF copies your StockX listing to Whatnot, then you review it before it goes live. StockX handled photography for you. Whatnot will not. That is the main shift in what you provide.
Whatnot listings are about your specific pair, not interchangeable product copies. Photographs matter. Take shots of both sides, sole, insole (size label), style code, and box label. For worn pairs, add close-ups of the damage you are disclosing.
When a pair sells on one side
A Whatnot sale is seen by FLUF, and the StockX ask ends. A StockX sale is not seen, so you mark the pair sold in FLUF and the Whatnot listing ends.
Timing matters because StockX gives you two business days to ship a sold pair to verification. If that pair also sells on Whatnot before you have marked it sold in FLUF, you have two orders and one shoe. The cancellation costs you standing on whichever platform you disappoint. Build the habit: when a sale arrives, open FLUF and mark it sold right away.
