This guide is for UK businesses that sell physical products through a Wix store and want TikTok Shop as a second checkout: a candle maker, a small skincare brand, a print studio, a clothing label. TikTok Shop lets people buy without leaving the app, which is a different thing from sending them to your website from an ad. If you sell outside the UK, or sell services, bookings or digital downloads, this route is not for you.
Ads integration or shop: know which one you are setting up
TikTok’s own announcement of the Wix integration describes it as a link between your Wix website and TikTok for Business, “making it easy to create, manage, and optimize ad campaigns from one place”. It sets up the TikTok Pixel, conversion tracking and a product catalogue for advertising. Buyers who click still check out on your Wix site.
TikTok Shop is a separate account with its own Seller Center, orders and payouts. Products listed there can be bought inside TikTok, in videos, LIVE streams and the shop tab. You can run both. The ads integration measures and promotes your site, and TikTok Shop is where in-app orders happen.
What TikTok Shop charges
TikTok Shop’s UK commission fee guide describes the fee as a percentage of each completed order, deducted from the settlement. In its worked example, shoes under fashion carry a 9% rate including VAT, and a computer carries 5%. The base is the net sale price plus the shipping the customer paid plus any platform discount.
Applied to a Wix seller: a £28 candle with £3.95 customer-paid postage gives a base of £31.95. At 9% the commission is about £2.88. On your Wix store the same order costs only your payment processing fee, so TikTok Shop pays its way through sales you would not have made from your site.
If creators promote your products through TikTok’s affiliate programme, their commission is a separate deduction at a rate you choose.
Setting it up
- Open a TikTok Shop UK seller account in TikTok Shop Seller Center and complete its checks.
