Crosslist from OnBuy to TikTok Shop: A UK Seller’s Guide
Fees, dispatch rules and photos for OnBuy sellers adding TikTok Shop UK.
7 days for £1, then from £9/month.
- OnBuy buyers arrive by searching for a product. TikTok Shop buyers mostly find products in videos, LIVE streams and creator posts.
- TikTok Shop UK charges a 9% commission on most orders, with some categories such as computers at 5%. OnBuy charges a monthly subscription plus a sales fee.
- FLUF sees TikTok Shop sales and ends the OnBuy listing. It does not see OnBuy sales, so you mark those sold in FLUF and it takes the TikTok Shop stock down.
- Both connections are for UK sellers only, and every TikTok Shop product needs at least one photo.

Is TikTok Shop worth adding to OnBuy?
It depends on whether your products look good on camera. An OnBuy listing wins when a buyer types a product name and yours is the best offer. TikTok Shop sells the other way round: someone sees the product in use and buys on impulse. Gadgets, beauty tools, kitchen kit, toys and anything with a satisfying demo tend to do well. Replacement filters and cables do not.
If you already sell new, branded stock on OnBuy, most of the work is done: the product data exists, you ship from the UK, and you know your margins. What TikTok Shop adds is the need for photos and, ideally, short videos or a creator willing to feature the product.
What each marketplace charges
OnBuy’s seller terms list a Monthly Subscription Fee and a Sales Fee on each sale, plus optional Boost and OnBuy Ads fees. The terms do not give amounts; your seller control panel shows the rates for your account and category.
TikTok Shop has no subscription. Its commission fee is 9%, including VAT, worked out on net sales plus the shipping the customer paid. TikTok’s own example charges 5% on a computer. On a £20 phone stand with £2.99 customer-paid shipping and no discounts, the commission is 9% of £22.99, or £2.07.
Creator commission is on top, and you choose the rate. If a creator sells that £20 stand at a 10% rate, they earn £2. Sellers invited to TikTok’s Shop Ads feature can set a separate creator rate for ad-driven sales, anywhere from 1% to 80%. Work out your floor before you offer a rate, because the platform commission and creator commission come out of the same sale.
Dispatch and payment
TikTok Shop measures how quickly you ship. Its Late Dispatch Rate counts packages that take more than 2 working days to be marked shipped after the order is placed. If your OnBuy handling time is longer than that, shorten it for the products you move across.
On OnBuy, you can withdraw funds no later than 7 days after the end of the Delivery Timeframe, and OnBuy starts the payout by the end of the next business day. Its terms also require you to answer customer enquiries within 48 hours and to message customers only through OnBuy.
Photos and product pages
TikTok Shop will not publish a product without a photo, and FLUF needs at least one to create the listing. Clear photos on a plain background work, but a short clip of the product in use is what makes TikTok buyers stop scrolling. Check your OnBuy items before you move them, and add photos where they are missing.
What FLUF does on each side
| OnBuy | TikTok Shop | |
|---|---|---|
| How you connect | Your OnBuy seller account details | Sign in with your TikTok Shop seller account |
| Bring existing listings into FLUF | Yes | Yes |
| FLUF sees a sale here | No, mark it sold in FLUF | Yes |
| FLUF ends the listing here when it sells elsewhere | Yes | Yes, it lowers or ends the stock |
| Relisting and offer management | No | No |
| Who can connect | UK sellers only | UK sellers only |
When a TikTok Shop order comes in, FLUF ends the OnBuy listing for you. After an OnBuy sale, open FLUF and mark the item sold; FLUF then reduces TikTok Shop stock and updates any other channel you have connected. On a product with plenty of units this is routine. On your last unit, do it as soon as the OnBuy order arrives.
