StockX vs Vinted: Where to Sell Your Trainers, New or Worn

Which pair goes where
StockX’s condition rules say all trainers and other footwear sold there are in brand new condition, including the shoebox, and used items are not accepted. That settles most of the decision before price comes into it.
- Deadstock in the original box, a model StockX already carries: either platform. Compare what you would keep on each, below.
- New but the box is damaged or gone: Vinted. StockX’s rule covers the box too.
- Worn, even once: Vinted.
- A pair StockX does not list: Vinted, because a StockX ask has to sit on an existing StockX product.
So the real comparison only applies to new, boxed pairs. For everything else on your shelf, Vinted is the only one of the two that will take it.
How selling differs
On StockX you never write a listing. Each shoe and size has one product page, and you place an ask, which is the price you will accept. When a buyer meets it, the sale happens, you post the pair to StockX, and StockX checks it before it goes on to the buyer. Buyers never see your photos, and you never talk to them.
On Vinted you are the listing. Your photos, the size, the condition notes and the brand are what a buyer judges. Buyers can message you and make offers, so price is a conversation. You post the pair to the buyer yourself, and your reviews build up over time.
That difference shapes the work. StockX suits a reseller with a stack of identical boxes and no wish to answer messages. Vinted suits someone happy to photograph each pair and reply to questions, in return for keeping the whole price.
What you keep on a £150 pair
StockX sellers pay a 3% payment processing fee plus a transaction fee set by Seller Level. The transaction fee is 9% at Level 1 and falls in half-point steps to 7% at Level 5. In Great Britain the minimum fee is £4.50.
Vinted charges no fee for uploading or selling items, and the full item price goes to your Vinted Balance once the sale completes. The buyer pays a Buyer Protection fee, usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, added to their total.

At the same price, Vinted leaves you £18 more. StockX only comes out ahead when its buyers pay enough extra for that model to cover its fees, and that varies from one release to the next. Check the recent StockX sales for your size before you choose, and price the Vinted listing with that figure in mind.
Authentication and buyer trust
Every StockX sale goes through StockX’s own check, and that is the main reason buyers trust it with expensive pairs. Vinted has an optional version. Item Verification covers clothing, bags, accessories, jewellery and shoes priced £85 or more. It costs the buyer £10 per item, it is free for the seller, and the fee includes postage from you to the verification hub.
For a £300 collaboration pair, that option narrows the gap. A cautious buyer on Vinted can pay for a check, and you keep your whole sale price. For a £60 pair it does not apply, and trust comes from your photos and reviews.
Using both for the same stock
Listing a new, boxed pair on both gives you StockX’s buyers and Vinted’s fee-free sale at the same time. The risk is selling it twice. FLUF Connect covers the Vinted side for you and needs one step from you on the StockX side.

If FLUF cannot find the exact StockX product, or finds several close matches, it asks you to choose the right product and size before the ask goes live. When a pair sells on StockX, mark it sold in FLUF as you confirm the sale, and FLUF ends the Vinted listing.
