Cardmarket to Shopify: run your card shop and your own store
Move your sealed product and best singles from Cardmarket onto a Shopify store you control, and keep both stock counts straight with FLUF Connect.
- Why run both: Cardmarket‘s catalogue brings you buyers who are already searching for a specific card. Shopify is a store with your own name on it, no per-sale commission, and somewhere to send your social followers.
- The catch: FLUF neither sees a Cardmarket sale nor ends a Cardmarket listing. Sell a card on Shopify and you take it off Cardmarket by hand. Sell it on Cardmarket and you mark it sold in FLUF, which then zeroes the Shopify stock.
- Cardmarket commission: 5% for a private seller, 3% for a professional seller, capped at €100 per article.
- Shopify has no per-sale commission of its own, just the monthly plan and a card-processing rate.
- Singles vs sealed: Shopify caps a product at three options, which is enough for condition and language on a single card but not much more.
- Cost: 7 days for £1, then from £9/month. Starter covers this pair.

Why run a Shopify store alongside Cardmarket
Cardmarket exists to match a buyer who wants one exact card to the cheapest seller who has it. That is useful traffic, but it comes with a 5% commission on every private sale and a page you do not control. A Shopify store is the opposite: nobody finds it by searching a card name in a marketplace, but once someone is on it, the store, the layout and the price are entirely yours, and Shopify does not take a cut of the sale itself.
The usual reason a Cardmarket seller opens a Shopify store is one of three things: they want a place to send their own social following without Cardmarket’s price-sorted list burying their listing, they want to sell sealed product and bundles that a per-card catalogue handles badly, or they are tired of paying commission on sales that came from their own marketing, not from Cardmarket’s search.
Keep both running rather than picking one. Cardmarket still delivers buyers you would not otherwise reach. A card with no obvious catalogue entry, or one you would rather present with your own photos and a story, belongs on Shopify instead.
A price list against a shop you build yourself
On Cardmarket you search for a card, pick the set, the language and a condition from its seven-step scale, and your row joins a list sorted by price. Buyers compare your €4.20 against someone else’s €4.15. Your own photos and words barely register.
On Shopify you build the product page: your own photos, your own description, your own layout. Nobody else’s listing sits next to yours. That is slower to set up than adding a Cardmarket row, and it is also the entire point of running a store with your name on it.
Singles vs sealed on Shopify
Shopify allows up to three options per product, such as condition, language and set, with up to 2,048 variants under them. For a single card, condition and language as two options covers most of what a buyer needs to choose, and leaves a third option free for something like foil or non-foil. For a product line with more than three meaningful choices, you need a separate product per extra choice, or a Shopify app that adds more.
Sealed product is simpler: a booster box or a bundle rarely needs more than one or two options, since there is no condition to grade on something still shrink-wrapped.
Carry your Cardmarket condition wording across rather than the abbreviation. A buyer on your store will not know what “LP” means, so write “Light Played” in full, and describe what that means for the specific card if it affects the price much.
What each one takes
| Cardmarket | Shopify | |
|---|---|---|
| Sales commission | 5% private seller, 3% professional seller, capped at €100 per article | None |
| Monthly plan | None | From €24/month on annual billing, €32/month billed monthly, for the Basic plan (excl. VAT) |
| Card processing | Included in the commission | A processing rate on each order via Shopify Payments, or a third-party transaction fee of 2% on Basic if you use another provider |
| Listing fee | None | None |
Take a graded card you sell for €150. On Cardmarket as a private seller the 5% commission is €7.50, so you keep €142.50. On Shopify there is no commission on that sale at all; you pay the monthly plan and a processing rate on the transaction, whatever traffic sends you the order.
That makes the comparison less about a single sale and more about volume and traffic. A slow month on a new store still costs the Basic plan’s monthly fee, where Cardmarket only ever charges when something sells.
Shopify Payments across the EU
Shopify Payments is available for merchants trading from most EU countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Austria, Poland and the Nordics. Check your own country on that page before you commit, since coverage and the exact processing rate depend on where your business is registered, and a country outside the list needs a third-party payment provider instead.
Shipping cards from the EU
Cardmarket’s own shipping tool sets the postage automatically by country of origin, country of destination, weight and dimensions, and requires tracked, registered shipping once an order passes €25, or for a new seller’s orders above €10. Below that, a plain untracked letter is normal for single cards sent within the EU.
Shopify has no equivalent built-in postage calculator for cards. You set your own shipping rates and buy postage through whichever carrier you use, such as your national postal service or a courier like DPD, GLS or UPS. Match Cardmarket’s habit of tracking anything above about €25, since a lost untracked parcel is your loss on either platform, not the carrier’s.
What FLUF Connect does for this pair
| Cardmarket | Shopify | |
|---|---|---|
| Import and crosslist listings | Yes | Yes (as the destination) |
| FLUF detects a sale here | No | Yes |
| FLUF ends the listing here when the item sells elsewhere | No | Yes |
| Relisting and offer management | No | No |
| FLUF browser extension | Needed to connect | Not needed |
When it sells on Shopify: FLUF records the sale and would normally end the listing on your other channels. Cardmarket is the exception, so open Cardmarket and remove that copy yourself.
When it sells on Cardmarket: FLUF never sees it. Open the item in FLUF and mark it sold, and FLUF then zeroes the stock on Shopify.
Build that second step into your routine from day one. A card that sells on Cardmarket and stays live on Shopify is a sale you cannot fulfil.
How to crosslist from Cardmarket to Shopify
- Connect Cardmarket. Install the FLUF browser extension, sign in to Cardmarket, then add Cardmarket from Channels in FLUF. Your listings come in.
- Connect Shopify from the same screen and sign in when Shopify asks. No extension needed on that side.
- Pick the stock worth its own product page. Sealed product, graded cards, and singles you want to present with your own photos.
- Set up condition and language as options on any single-card product, and keep a third option in reserve for foil or edition.
- Write the product page properly. Your own photos, front and back for anything graded, and the condition spelled out in full.
- Crosslist a handful first, check the pages look right on your store, then use bulk operations for the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions
Only one way. FLUF Connect does not see a Cardmarket sale, so a card sold there stays live on Shopify until you mark it sold yourself. A Shopify sale is picked up automatically and ends the FLUF-managed side, but Cardmarket has no automatic removal either, so you take that listing down by hand.
It can happen, because Cardmarket sales are not detected. Mark the item sold in FLUF the moment you see the Cardmarket order, and check your Shopify orders for the same window before you ship anything twice.
Cardmarket charges a private seller 5% and a professional seller 3%, capped at €100 on any one article. Shopify takes no commission on the sale itself; you pay a monthly plan and a card-processing rate instead.
Yes. Sealed product usually needs only one or two options, such as language or edition. A single card can use condition and language as two of Shopify's three allowed options, with a third left over for something like foil.
Yes, for Cardmarket. Install it and sign in to Cardmarket before you connect the channel in FLUF. Shopify connects with your store login, no extension needed.
In most EU countries, yes, including Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Austria, Poland and the Nordics. Check your own country before you set up checkout, since a country outside that list needs a different payment provider.
A 7-day trial for £1, then plans from £9/month on Starter. Starter includes unlimited listings, crosslisting, inventory sync, order sync and bulk operations, which covers everything this pair uses.
No. Shipping stays with each platform: Cardmarket calculates its own postage by country and weight, and Shopify uses whatever rates and carrier you set up on your store. FLUF moves the listing and the stock count, not the parcel.
