Key Takeaways — Shopify to Allegro Crosslisting

  • Shopify: your own storefront and your own catalogue, with a variant model that maps cleanly onto Allegro’s one-offer-per-variant structure.
  • Allegro: Poland’s largest marketplace — 15.5 million active buyers in Poland, 20.4 million group-wide, and separate marketplaces in Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary on one shared category tree.
  • Allegro needs a business account: offers cannot be created or edited through Allegro’s API from a regular account — a rule Allegro has enforced since 27 July 2022.
  • Two-way inventory protection: unlike a read-only source, Shopify is a full sync partner. A sale on Allegro pulls the item down elsewhere, and a sale anywhere else can be mirrored back into Shopify as an order.
  • Shopify’s own Marketplace Connect does not support Allegro, and neither does any of the major resale crosslisting tools — this is not a well-served route.
  • Cost: start with a 7-day trial for £1, then plans from £9/month (Starter — 300 products). There is no free plan; automation is included in every plan.

Why Put a Shopify Catalogue on Allegro?

Shopify gives you a storefront; it does not give you demand. Every visit to a Shopify store is one you paid for in ads, earned in SEO, or built through a list. Allegro is the opposite trade: the demand is already there and the platform takes a cut for handing it to you. For a Shopify merchant looking at central Europe, that trade is unusually favourable, because Allegro’s position in Poland has no real second place.

The numbers make the case without embellishment. Allegro’s Polish operations turned over PLN 66.4 billion of GMV in 2025 across 1.48 billion items sold, from 15.5 million active Polish buyers. Growth has not stalled either: group GMV rose 13.7% in the first half of 2026, with the international segment — Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary — up 64.8%.

That last figure is the part Shopify merchants tend to miss. Allegro runs four marketplaces on one shared category tree: allegro.pl, allegro.cz (launched May 2023), allegro.sk (February 2024) and allegro.hu (October 2024). A category may be disabled on an individual market, but the taxonomy is common. Building a mapping once is not a Poland-only investment.

How the Shopify to Allegro Connection Works

  1. Connect Shopify. FLUF connects to your store through Shopify’s Admin API, pinned to a current API version so behaviour does not drift when Shopify retires an older one.
  2. Connect Allegro. Allegro uses OAuth 2.0. You are redirected to Allegro, you approve FLUF Connect, and Allegro issues a token. Access tokens last 12 hours and refresh transparently for three months, so a working connection stays working.
  3. Import the catalogue. Products and variants come across with prices, stock levels, images, SKUs and options.
  4. Resolve categories. Allegro offers can only be created in leaf categories, and each leaf has its own required parameter set. FLUF maps from your product data, then falls back to Allegro’s own category suggestion service where a mapping does not yet exist.
  5. Fill required parameters. Allegro’s API exposes, per category, exactly which parameters are required and which become required conditionally. FLUF fills them from your product options and metafields and reports by name anything it cannot supply.
  6. Crosslist. Images are uploaded to Allegro’s own image host, then the offer is created referencing them. You get back the offer ID and its live Allegro URL.

One structural point worth knowing: Allegro asks integrators to run a single application key for all their sellers rather than making each merchant register their own — its own developer team calls the one-Client-ID model “the model we want”. That is how FLUF is built, which is why connecting is an approval click rather than a developer onboarding exercise.

The Business-Account Gate

Allegro splits accounts into konto zwykłe (regular) and konto firmowe (business), and the split has teeth for anyone using software.

A regular account can sell on Allegro through the website. What it cannot do is create or edit offers through the API or by file upload. Allegro announced this in April 2022 and enforced it from 27 July 2022, giving the EU Omnibus Directive 2019/2161 — which requires marketplaces to disclose whether a seller is a trader — as the reason. Allegro Lokalnie, the classifieds arm private sellers are directed to, carries an equivalent clause in its own annex barring listing creation via the API.

For a Shopify merchant this is rarely a blocker, because you are already a business. It does mean the account must be a properly registered and verified one. Allegro’s terms are stricter for entities outside the EEA, Switzerland, Ukraine and the UK: those need Allegro’s prior consent to register at all, and Allegro can refuse. Registration for an EEA or UK company follows a standard path — create the account, verify the bank account, set your returns and complaints terms, list a first offer, then confirm identity and company data before payouts are released. Bank verification runs by transfer, a bank document, or an open-banking check.

FLUF checks the account type before it uploads a single photo, so a private account fails fast with a clear message rather than after a wasted upload. It checks two more things at the same time: that a delivery price list exists on the account, and that a dispatch location can be resolved. Allegro takes shipping from an account-level price list rather than per offer, and FLUF inherits the dispatch address from your own existing Allegro offers rather than inventing one.

Field and Category Mapping — Shopify to Allegro

Shopify field Allegro field Transfer status Notes
Product title Offer name ⚡ Trimmed Allegro validates 12–75 characters including spaces, minimum three words, and rejects rather than truncates. Watch short SKU-style titles against the 12-character minimum.
Body (HTML) Standardised description ✅ Automatic Allegro’s description is a set of sections holding text or image items; the whole description caps at 40,000 bytes.
Product images Offer photos ⚡ First 16 Business accounts get 16. Minimum 500px on the longer side; any aspect ratio and any background colour are accepted.
Variant price Offer price ✅ Automatic Converted to your Allegro account’s shop currency.
Variant inventory quantity Offer stock ✅ Automatic Per-variant, so each Allegro offer carries its own real stock figure.
Variant SKU Seller signature ✅ Automatic Your SKU survives the round trip.
Barcode EAN parameter ⚠️ Conditional Mandatory when the offer’s condition parameter is “new” in selected categories; 8–14 digits.
Product type / collections Allegro leaf category ⚡ Smart mapped Leaf categories only. Category IDs may be integers or UUIDs — a detail that breaks naive integrations.
Options (size, colour) Category parameters ⚡ Mapped Allegro’s parameters are typed and constrained per category — dictionaries, integers, floats and strings each with their own restrictions.
Vendor Producent / brand parameter ⚡ Mapped Where the category defines one.
Weight Delivery price list ⚠️ Set once on Allegro Shipping is account-level on Allegro, not per offer.
Compare-at price ❌ Not carried Allegro handles promotions through its own tooling.
Responsible person / safety information ⚠️ Manual on Allegro Allegro enforces the EU General Product Safety Regulation through dedicated responsible-person and responsible-producer records you create once on Allegro.

Category Mapping Examples

Shopify product type Allegro category Commission and gotchas
Apparel → T-shirts Moda → Odzież, Obuwie, Dodatki → Odzież damska → T-shirty 11.5% to 110 zł, then 12.65 zł + 7.5% above. No cap. Size and colour become required parameters.
Electronics → Laptops Elektronika → Komputery → Laptopy 2.5% — one of the lowest rates on the platform. EAN mandatory if listed as new.
Home → Furniture Dom i Ogród → Meble 13% to 90 zł then 8%; many leaves cap at 250 zł.
Anything unmapped … → Pozostałe 17%. Every department has an “Other” leaf at the top rate — a bad mapping is expensive, not just untidy.

Variants, Currency and Stock

Allegro has no concept of a parent product with child variants in the way Shopify does. Each sellable thing is its own offer with its own price, stock and photos. FLUF expands your Shopify variants accordingly: a jacket in three colours and four sizes becomes twelve Allegro offers, each carrying its own stock figure, rather than one offer with an ambiguous quantity.

Currency is handled at the account level. Allegro marketplaces run in PLN, CZK, EUR and HUF depending on the market, and FLUF converts from your product’s currency into the currency of the connected Allegro account. If you sell in GBP or USD on Shopify, that conversion happens on the way out — which means your Allegro prices should be reviewed against local expectations rather than treated as a straight arithmetic translation of your storefront price.

Allegro also caps how many offers an account may run at once. A new business account starts at 20,000 concurrently published offers, rising to 200,000 after thirty days at a sales-quality rating of neutral or better, with no product-linking violations and no bad GTINs. Accounts registered on a tax ID from outside the EEA, Switzerland, Ukraine or the UK start at 500. Large Shopify catalogues should plan the first push around that ladder rather than pointing everything at Allegro on day one.

Product archived in Shopify The Allegro offer stays live until delisted N/A
The Shopify difference

Shopify is one of the few channels FLUF can both read from and write to. That makes the overselling story genuinely two-directional here: a sale on Allegro decrements Shopify, and a sale on Shopify withdraws the Allegro offer. Shopify’s own Marketplace Connect app does not support Allegro at all, so this is not a duplicate of something you already have — it is a route that otherwise does not exist without a Polish integrator such as BaseLinker sitting between the two.

Allegro’s Fees, From a Shopify Seller’s Angle

Coming from Shopify, where your costs are a monthly plan plus card processing, Allegro’s model reads differently: nothing to list, a percentage when you sell, and everything else optional.

Allegro’s fee page is explicit that listing an offer is free and commission is the only basic charge. Rates run 1% to 17% net of Polish VAT by leaf category, per the schedule effective 2 March 2026. There is no minimum commission. Caps exist in many categories — 250 zł across much of Dom i Ogród, 140 zł across Motoryzacja, up to 500 zł in Firma i usługi — but fashion has none, using a taper instead.

Two mechanics differ from Shopify’s and are worth budgeting for. First, commission is charged on the item price plus buyer-paid delivery. Allegro’s own example: a 100 zł item with 18 zł of delivery at a 6% rate costs 7.08 zł, not 6 zł. If the buyer pays nothing for delivery, delivery is excluded. Second, if you join Allegro Smart! — and Smart! buyers are the ones who convert, with more than nine million of them group-wide — you part-fund the free delivery on a five-band scale by order value, from 0.99 zł on a low-value locker parcel up to 14.99 zł on a high-value courier parcel. Below a 30 zł order value there is no Smart! parcel fee at all.

Invoicing is monthly, issued by the fifteenth of the following month with fourteen days to pay, and on a business account Allegro collects its fees automatically from your payout balance. That is not something you can switch off, so treat the Allegro balance as a settlement account rather than a payout stream.

Automation Features for Shopify and Allegro Sellers

Auto-Crosslisting Rules

Rules by collection, price band or vendor push new Shopify products to Allegro without you touching the dashboard. For a store that publishes new products continuously, this is what keeps the Allegro presence current rather than a stale snapshot of last quarter’s catalogue.

Bulk Operations

Bulk crosslisting with filters, bulk price adjustment and find-and-replace across your listings. Find-and-replace earns its keep here, because Allegro’s description rules forbid contact details, marketing words such as gratis or promocja, and references to your other products — all of which appear routinely in Shopify product copy written for your own storefront.

Order Mirroring

Sales made on connected channels can be mirrored into Shopify as orders, so your Shopify admin stays the single place you look at revenue and fulfilment rather than one of several.

What Allegro Does Not Support

Allegro has no automated relisting and no offer management through FLUF. Both features work on other channels you may connect — see auto-relisting and offer management — and run independently of your Allegro listings.

How Much Does It Cost to Crosslist from Shopify to Allegro?

Yes for any integration. Since 27 July 2022 Allegro has blocked offer creation and editing through its API and by file upload on regular accounts, so a konto firmowe is required. Registration for an EEA or UK company follows a standard path — create the account, verify the bank account, set your returns and complaints terms, then confirm identity and company data before payouts are released.

Yes, in both directions. Shopify is one of the few channels FLUF can both read from and write to. A sale on Allegro is ingested, clears the item from your other channels and can be mirrored into Shopify as an order; a sale in Shopify withdraws the Allegro offer within minutes.

Each variant becomes its own Allegro offer. Allegro has no parent-product-with-variants model — every sellable thing is a separate offer with its own price, stock and photos — so a jacket in three colours and four sizes becomes twelve Allegro offers, each carrying its own real stock figure.

Prices are converted from your product's currency into the currency of the connected Allegro account. Allegro's marketplaces run in PLN, CZK, EUR and HUF depending on the market. Because that is an arithmetic conversion rather than a pricing decision, it is worth reviewing your Allegro prices against local expectations rather than accepting the converted figure.

A new business account starts at 20,000 concurrently published offers, rising to 200,000 after thirty days at a sales-quality rating of neutral or better with no product-linking violations and no bad GTINs. Accounts registered on a tax ID from outside the EEA, Switzerland, Ukraine or the UK start at 500. Large catalogues should plan the first push around that ladder.

As a percentage of the item price plus buyer-paid delivery, charged the moment the buyer commits rather than when the money clears. Rates run from 1% to 17% net of Polish VAT depending on the leaf category, there is no minimum commission, and many categories cap the fee. If delivery is free to the buyer or covered by Allegro Smart!, delivery is not added to the calculation.

No. Neither Shopify's Marketplace Connect nor any of the major resale crosslisting tools supports Allegro. In Poland the usual route is a local integrator such as BaseLinker; FLUF Connect is an alternative that also covers every other channel you sell on.

About 30 seconds per product once your categories are mapped, with offers live on Allegro within minutes. Auto-crosslisting rules push new products across without you opening the dashboard.

Yes. The same Shopify import feeds every channel you connect, and every plan covers all supported channels rather than charging per marketplace.
