Crosslist from Vendora to Depop — The 10% Greek Sellers Still Pay

Depop's fee removal covers the UK, US and Australia and nobody else. From Greece you pay 10%, you are paid through PayPal, and your location is a published ranking factor. Here is what the route really costs.

Key Takeaways — crosslisting from Vendora to Depop

  • A Greek seller pays Depop’s 10% selling fee. The 2024 fee removal applies only to sellers based in the UK, US and Australia. Depop’s own wording: the selling fee applies to sellers outside those three countries selling in a currency other than GBP, USD or AUD.
  • You will be paid through PayPal, not Depop. Depop Payments is a requirement for UK, US and Australian sellers and unavailable elsewhere. No Depop Balance, no bank payout, and PayPal’s own processing fee on top — a rate Depop does not state.
  • Depop is now owned by eBay, not Etsy. The $1.2bn acquisition closed on 30 July 2026. Any guide describing Depop as an Etsy company is out of date.
  • Photos shrink hard. A Vendora ad carries up to 12 photos. Depop’s own listing guide says four photos and one video. Choose the four before you crosslist, not after.
  • Depop has no title field. The description does that job, plus up to five hashtags and two brand hashtags. Your Greek ad text has to become English copy that opens with the words a buyer would search.
  • Your location is a ranking factor. Depop says it mainly shows buyers listings from the country set in their preferences, so a Greek shop is structurally deprioritised for the UK and US buyers who make up its demand.
  • Vendora costs nothing to sell on — listing is free and there is no sale commission. The only charge is withdrawing from the Wallet: €0.99 plus 5.1% plus VAT.
  • Cost: FLUF Connect crosslists to 45 marketplace channels from one dashboard. £1 for 7 days, then plans from £9/month (Starter). There is no free plan.

Why a Greek seller looks at Depop at all

Vendora is a good place to sell in Greece and only in Greece. Founded in Athens in 2017, it carries over 3.6 million live ads across Greek, Cypriot and Bulgarian front ends, and in 2026 added a unified EU marketplace at vendora.eu. Listing is free, and the platform takes nothing from the sale itself.

What it cannot do is find a buyer in Manchester who wants your 1990s Moschino jacket. Depop can. It reported 7 million active buyers at the end of 2025, with nearly 90% of them under 34, more than 3 million active sellers, and around $1bn of GMV in 2025.

Note the ownership, because it changed recently and matters for what Depop becomes. Etsy bought Depop for $1.62bn in 2021 and sold it to eBay, with the deal announced in February 2026 and closing on 30 July 2026 at roughly $1.4bn including adjustments. Depop keeps its own brand and platform. Any guide still calling Depop an Etsy company predates the summer.

So the case for this route is straightforward: Vendora gives you a free, frictionless domestic listing; Depop gives you access to a young, international, fashion-native buyer base that Greece simply does not contain. The case against it is everything in the next section.

The 10% nobody warns Greek sellers about

Almost every article about Depop’s fees describes the same thing: Depop scrapped its 10% selling fee in 2024 and moved to buyer-paid fees. That is true, and it does not apply to you.

Depop’s own seller fees page is precise about the boundary: “The selling fee applies to sellers outside of the UK, US, or AUS and selling in a currency other than GBP, USD, or AUD.” A seller based in Greece, listing in euros, is squarely inside that description. You pay 10%, on the item sale price excluding taxes, plus the shipping cost where no Depop shipping label was used.

The 0% regime covers the UK, US and Australia. Nothing else. And the buyer-side Marketplace fee that replaced it — up to 5% of the item price plus up to £1 or $1 — is charged only to buyers in the UK or US paying in GBP or USD, so it does not offset anything for you; it simply raises what your UK buyer pays at checkout on top of the 10% you already paid.

Boosted Listings, if you use them, cost 8% outside the UK and US against 12% inside — the one place the geography works in your favour — and that is on top of the 10%, not instead of it.

What the two platforms actually cost, on a €60 jacket

Vendora Depop from Greece
Listing €0.00 €0.00
Selling fee €0.00 €6.00 (10%)
Payment processing €0.00 on the sale PayPal’s own fee — Depop does not state the rate
Getting the money out €0.99 + 5.1% + VAT on Wallet withdrawal Included in the PayPal fee above
Optional promotion Boosted Listings at 8%

Vendora’s cost structure deserves a note because it is unusual. There is no fee on the sale at all. The charge lands when you take money out of the Vendora Wallet: €0.99 fixed plus 5.1% of the withdrawal amount, plus VAT, with a €5 minimum withdrawal and payout in three to five business days. Topping up costs €0.25. There is an inactivity fee of €30 a year after 24 consecutive months of inactivity, charged by the payment provider Mangopay. And you can avoid the withdrawal charge entirely by converting the balance to a partner gift card, which Vendora states carries no additional charges.

So the honest comparison is not “free versus 10%”. It is: Vendora charges you around 5% to convert sales into bank money, and nothing if you spend the balance in kind; Depop charges 10% plus PayPal. Depop is still the more expensive channel, by a clear margin, and it should be earning that through higher prices or a sale that would not otherwise have happened.

Getting paid: PayPal, and only PayPal

This is the structural consequence of not being in the UK, US or Australia, and it shapes the whole operation.

Depop Payments is not available to you. Depop states that it is a requirement for US, UK and Australian sellers, and that PayPal “is available only to users outside the US, UK, and Australia”. So there is no Depop Balance, no card processing through Depop, and no bank payout. Money arrives in PayPal and you pay PayPal’s processing fee, which Depop declines to quantify: “PayPal’s fee may vary depending on your location and PayPal account setup.” We are not going to invent a percentage for it — check your own PayPal account’s merchant rate, because it varies by account type and by whether the payment is cross-border.

For contrast, sellers who do get Depop Payments pay 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK, 3.3% + $0.45 in the US and 2.6% + A$0.30 in Australia. Your PayPal rate will not be better than that, and cross-border surcharges usually make it worse.

Two operational details that follow. Refunds reverse all fees, but outside the UK, US and Australia the selling-fee refund requires raising a support ticket rather than happening automatically. And your listing currency is set in My Depop → Preferences, where changes apply to new items only — existing listings have to be relisted to change currency. Decide before you start.

Shipping from Greece, without Depop labels

Depop provides shipping labels in the UK, through Evri, and in the US, through USPS. Not in Greece.

Depop’s worldwide shipping guidance for sellers outside the US and UK is essentially “arrange it yourself”: use your preferred method, enter a domestic or worldwide shipping price when you list based on the item’s size and weight, ship tracked, keep proof of postage, add any required tax codes such as IOSS, then mark as shipped and add the tracking number. Depop Protection is void if you ship to any address other than the one on the receipt.

Vendora, by comparison, integrates BOX NOW, ELTA Courier, ACS, DHL Greece, Speedex, Γενική Ταχυδρομική and DPD, generates the voucher for you, and adds island surcharges automatically — BOX NOW island shipments carry an extra €1. For EU-wide delivery a Greek seller enables Γενική Ταχυδρομική or DPD via ACS drop-off.

The practical consequence for crosslisting: your Vendora shipping setup does not transfer in any form. You are quoting a flat worldwide price on Depop, absorbing the variance yourself, and doing your own customs paperwork. Price that in before you list, because a €60 jacket that costs €18 to send tracked to the UK is a different proposition from one that costs €4 to send to Thessaloniki.

Rebuilding a Vendora ad as a Depop listing

These are not the same object, and the transformation is more than translation.

Vendora field Depop field Transfer Notes
Title (Greek) — no title field ⚠️ Rewritten Depop has no separate title. The description does the work, and its opening words are what a buyer sees
Description (Greek) Description ⚡ Translated Depop search matches the description, brand, category and colour — so this is your keyword field
Photos (up to 12) 4 photos + 1 video ⚠️ Trimmed Depop’s own listing guide says four. Pick them deliberately — a hanging shot, a detail, the label, and any flaw
Price (EUR) Price ✅ Automatic Currency is a preference set once and applies to new items only
Category Category ⚡ Smart mapped Vendora’s classifieds taxonomy is broader than Depop’s fashion one
Brand (free text, Greek script) Brand ⚡ Mapped Must be transliterated to Latin script and to Depop’s canonical spelling
Size (EU) Size ⚡ Converted Depop’s taxonomy is UK and US oriented
Condition (prose) Condition attribute ⚡ Mapped Structured on Depop, not free text
Hashtags (5 + 2 brand) ⚠️ Manual No Vendora equivalent. Must be English search terms, not Greek
Courier selection Shipping price ❌ No equivalent Depop takes a price, not a carrier. See above

The description is the whole listing. Depop’s own ranking guidance confirms search matches against the description, brand, category and colour, and there is no title field to carry keywords separately. So the first line has to read like a title — “Vintage 90s Moschino denim jacket, oversized, size M” — and the rest carries condition, measurements and fit. A translated classifieds ad that opens with “Πωλείται…” is not going to be found by anybody.

Photos are the sharpest loss. Twelve down to four is a real constraint, and Vendora’s minimum image size of 600×600 pixels means your existing photos are technically fine — you simply have to choose. For secondhand fashion the four that sell are: the garment worn or hung in full, one detail of fabric or hardware, the brand and size label, and an honest photograph of any flaw. Leave the flaw out and you buy yourself a not-as-described dispute.

One Vendora-side constraint worth knowing while you are editing: every Vendora ad is reviewed by a human, and ads get paused for unclear titles or descriptions, unspecified real-versus-synthetic fur, watermarks or advertising in photos, ambiguous pricing, contact details or prompts to transact off-platform, and mixed-category listings. Vendora notifies you each time. If you are rewriting listings for Depop and pushing the same text back, keep that list in mind.

The location problem, stated plainly

Depop publishes its ranking factors, and one of them is uncomfortable for this route: seller location. In Depop’s words, it mainly shows buyers listings from the country set in their preferences.

Depop’s demand is concentrated in the UK and the US. A shop located in Greece is therefore working against a structural headwind for exactly the buyers worth reaching — not blocked, but not surfaced by default either. The other published factors are relevance, popularity in views, likes and bag-adds, buyer habits, recency, seller sales history, boost status and policy compliance.

Three things follow. Your description quality matters more than it would for a UK seller, because relevance is the lever you fully control. Boosted Listings at 8% are more defensible here than they would be elsewhere, because they buy visibility you are otherwise structurally short of. And you should not judge this route on a fortnight — sales history is itself a ranking factor, so early performance understates the steady state.

We would rather say that than pretend the geography is neutral. It isn’t.

What FLUF Connect syncs, and what it does not

What works. Depop is one of the best-supported channels in FLUF Connect: crosslisting, relisting, offer management, messaging, order sync and sold-detection all work. A sale on Depop is picked up and can drop the item from your other channels automatically.

What does not. Vendora supports sold-detection in FLUF Connect but not order sync or relisting — it is close to a create-and-publish channel. In practice that means the Depop-to-Vendora direction is the reliable one, and you should not assume a Vendora sale will clear your Depop listing without checking. For one-of-one secondhand clothing that is the failure mode to watch: the same jacket bought twice, once locally and once in London, with a Depop cancellation and its effect on your seller history as the consequence.

The other thing that does not travel is the shipping arrangement, as above. Vendora hands you an integrated courier voucher; Depop hands you a text field for a price. No integration can bridge that, because there is nothing on the Depop side to bridge to.

The Greek trader test and DAC7

The trader test is stricter than most sellers expect. Under άρθρο 21 ν.4172/2013, a business transaction is any transaction or systematic conduct of acts in the market aimed at profit — and three similar transactions within six months constitute systematic conduct. That is a low bar. Three jackets bought to resell inside half a year is, on the face of the statute, business activity generating taxable business income. Talk to a λογιστής before you scale, not after.

DAC7 applies to both platforms independently. Vendora states its thresholds as 30 or more sales, or total sales over €2,000, in a fiscal year, at which point it asks for your tax identification number and exact address and may restrict account features until you supply them. Vendora is explicit that the thresholds are for reporting, not taxation. Depop is subject to the same regime, and its own tax help article offers no Greek guidance at all — it points sellers to their local tax office and links UK and US authorities. Do not assume Depop will explain your Greek obligations to you; it will not.

The crosslisting angle: splitting volume across two platforms does not halve your exposure. It creates two separate threshold tests, each of which can trigger its own report to the authorities.

Sources and verification

What we could not verify, and therefore left out. PayPal’s exact processing rate for a Greek Depop seller, which Depop does not state and which varies by account. Depop’s published list of eligible seller countries — no such article exists in its help centre, so we have framed Greece through the fee page’s “outside the UK, US or AUS” wording instead. Depop’s description character limit and any minimum price. The frequently repeated “35 million users” and “80% Gen Z” figures, which come from stat blogs rather than Depop; we have used the acquisition announcement’s numbers instead. And Vendora’s founding and ownership detail, which appears only in Greek press rather than on a company page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The 2024 removal of Depop's selling fee applies only to sellers based in the UK, the US and Australia. Depop's own wording is that the selling fee applies to sellers outside those three countries who are selling in a currency other than GBP, USD or AUD — which describes a Greek seller listing in euros exactly. You pay 10% on the item sale price excluding taxes, plus the shipping cost where no Depop shipping label was used. Almost every article about Depop's "no seller fees" is describing a regime you are not in.

Through PayPal, and only PayPal. Depop Payments is a requirement for US, UK and Australian sellers and is not available elsewhere; Depop states that PayPal is available only to users outside those three countries. So there is no Depop Balance, no card processing through Depop and no bank payout — money lands in your PayPal account and PayPal's own processing fee applies on top of Depop's 10%. Depop does not publish that rate, saying only that it varies by location and account setup, so check your own PayPal merchant rate rather than trusting a figure from a guide.

No. Etsy bought Depop for $1.62bn in 2021 and sold it to eBay. The deal was announced in February 2026 at around $1.2bn and closed on 30 July 2026, at roughly $1.4bn including adjustments. Depop keeps its own brand and platform. Any guide describing Depop as an Etsy company was written before the summer of 2026.

Nothing on the sale itself. Listing is free and there is no commission. The charge comes when you take money out of the Vendora Wallet: €0.99 fixed plus 5.1% of the withdrawal, plus VAT, with a €5 minimum and payout in three to five business days. Topping up costs €0.25, and there is a €30 annual inactivity fee after 24 consecutive months of inactivity, charged by the payment provider Mangopay. You can avoid the withdrawal charge entirely by converting your balance into a partner gift card, which Vendora states carries no additional charges.

Four photos and one video, according to Depop's own listing guide — a significant drop from Vendora's twelve. Some third-party 2026 guides claim eight, which conflicts with Depop's own page, so plan for four. For secondhand fashion the four that sell are the garment worn or hung in full, a detail of the fabric or hardware, the brand and size label, and an honest photograph of any flaw. Vendora's 600-by-600-pixel minimum means your existing images are technically fine; the work is choosing.

No, and this catches out everyone coming from a classifieds platform. Depop has a description, up to five hashtags and up to two brand hashtags, and no separate title. Depop's own ranking guidance confirms that search matches against the description, brand, category and colour, so the description is your keyword field and its opening words are what a buyer actually sees. Write the first line as if it were a title — "Vintage 90s Moschino denim jacket, oversized, size M" — and let the rest carry condition, measurements and fit.

Structurally, yes, and it is worth knowing rather than discovering. Depop publishes its ranking factors and seller location is one of them: it says it mainly shows buyers listings from the country set in their preferences. Depop's demand is concentrated in the UK and the US, so a Greek shop is not surfaced by default to the buyers most worth reaching. Three things follow: description quality matters more for you than for a UK seller because relevance is the lever you control; Boosted Listings at 8% are more defensible here than elsewhere; and early results understate the steady state, because sales history is itself a ranking factor.

No. Depop provides labels in the UK through Evri and in the US through USPS, and nowhere else. Its guidance for sellers elsewhere is to use your preferred method, enter a domestic or worldwide shipping price when you list, ship tracked, keep proof of postage, add any required tax codes such as IOSS, then mark as shipped and add tracking. Depop Protection is void if you ship to any address other than the one on the receipt. None of your Vendora courier setup — BOX NOW, ACS, Speedex, DPD and the automatic island surcharges — transfers in any form.

Sooner than most people expect. Under άρθρο 21 ν.4172/2013, a business transaction is any transaction or systematic conduct of acts in the market aimed at profit, and three similar transactions within six months constitute systematic conduct. That is a low bar: three jackets bought to resell inside half a year is, on the face of the statute, business activity generating taxable business income. Speak to a λογιστής before you scale rather than afterwards.

It creates two separate threshold tests rather than splitting one. Vendora states its thresholds as 30 or more sales, or total sales over €2,000, in a fiscal year, at which point it asks for your tax identification number and exact address and may restrict account features until you supply them. Depop is subject to the same regime independently. Crucially, Depop's own tax help offers no Greek guidance at all — it points sellers to their local tax office and links UK and US authorities — so do not expect it to explain your obligations to you.
