Whatnot to Causee: Sell Your Leftover Stock Between Shows
How a UK Whatnot seller can put items that did not sell in a show on Causee, which charges sellers no fee, and how to keep both listings in step.
On Whatnot, most sales happen during a live show. Items that nobody bid on wait in your marketplace listings until the next one. Causee is a UK resale marketplace where buyers browse and buy at any hour, and sellers pay no fee. FLUF Connect can copy Whatnot items to Causee so they can sell while you are not live.
In short
- Send Causee the items that did not sell in a show: clothing, toys, books and small electricals that post well.
- Causee takes no fee from sellers. Whatnot takes commission by category and adds payment processing.
- A Whatnot sale comes into FLUF and the Causee listing comes down.
- FLUF does not see Causee sales. Mark the item sold in FLUF and the Whatnot listing comes down.
What Causee adds for a Whatnot seller
Causee says on its homepage that it gives its profits to charity once its running and growth costs are covered. Its FAQ says it is not a registered charity and that sellers keep the price they sell for. It has no subscription and no listing fee, and the FAQ allows sellers to list the same items on other marketplaces.
Both serve UK sellers, and the fit is timing. A show sells a run of items to whoever is watching for an hour. Causee shoppers buy one item at a time, whenever they look, so the slower stock that a show passes over gets a second route to a buyer.
| Send to Causee | Keep on Whatnot only |
|---|---|
| Clothing and shoes left after a show | Mystery boxes, breaks and lots built for a live audience |
| Toys, books and small electricals | Graded cards and items that need a live demo |
| Single items with a fixed price | Items you plan to run as auctions |
What each costs
Whatnot’s seller fees page sets a commission rate by category, and for marketplace listings that rate follows the product’s category. It is worked out on the item price, without postage or tax. In the UK the rate is subject to VAT, and payment processing is charged on top. Your seller hub shows the rate for each order.
Causee charges the seller nothing. Its protection fee page explains the fee the buyer pays at checkout. Payment goes through Stripe, and Causee holds it until the item is delivered.
| A £20 item | Whatnot, marketplace listing | Causee |
|---|---|---|
| Seller fee | Category commission plus VAT, and payment processing | £0 |
| How buyers find it | In your shows and in Whatnot search | Browsing and search on Causee |
| When you are paid | On Whatnot’s payout schedule | After delivery |
How to send Whatnot items to Causee
- Connect Whatnot in FLUF Connect so your listings appear in your FLUF inventory.
- Connect Causee from its card on the Channels screen and finish Causee’s payment set-up, without which its listings cannot take an order.
- Filter the inventory to Whatnot and select the items left over from your last show.
- Choose Causee as the destination, check the title and price, and publish.

Causee’s listing form has no brand field, so put the brand first in the title. Whatnot titles are often short because the host describes the item on camera. Add the size, condition and any flaw before you publish, because a Causee buyer has only the listing to go on.
After a sale
| What happens | What FLUF does | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| It sells on Whatnot, in a show or from your listings | The sale comes into FLUF and the Causee listing comes down | Ship with the Whatnot label |
| It sells on Causee | FLUF does not see the sale | Mark it sold in FLUF, which takes the Whatnot listing down, then post the item |
Check Causee for sales before you go live. An item that sold there an hour earlier should be marked sold in FLUF so it does not appear in your show.
What FLUF costs
Crosslisting, inventory sync and order sync are on every FLUF plan. Relisting, offer management and smart pricing come with Pro and above. Plans are on the pricing page, and you can start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.
