What Does Bumped Mean on Vinted? (And Is a Bump Worth It?)
A bumped item is one the seller has paid to show higher in feeds and search for 3 or 7 days. Here is how Bumps work, what they cost and when they are worth it.
Short answer: “Bumped” on Vinted means the seller has paid to push that item higher in members’ newsfeeds and search results for 3 or 7 days, or until it sells. It says nothing bad about the item: a bumped listing is bought, paid for and protected exactly like any other.
What “Bumped” means on Vinted
An item Bump is a paid feature a seller can add to a single listing. While the Bump runs, the item appears higher in the newsfeed and in search results, and Vinted shows it to the members most likely to be interested in it, based on their preferences. That is why you may notice the same bumped item several times while scrolling.
A Bump lasts for 3 or 7 consecutive days, depending on which the seller picked, or until the item sells, whichever comes first. Bumps only reach buyers in the seller’s own registered country.
If you are buying: is a bumped item safe?
Yes. A Bump is advertising, nothing more. The item goes through the same checkout, carries the same Buyer Protection fee and has the same refund cover as any other item on Vinted. The only thing a Bump tells you is that the seller wants it to sell, so it can be a good item to make an offer on.
If you are selling: how a Bump works
- Cost: the price depends on the item’s price and on the duration you choose (3 or 7 days). Vinted shows the exact cost before you pay.
- One at a time: you can only have one Bump on an item at a time, and a Bump cannot be moved to another item.
- Price changes: while a Bump is active you can lower the item’s price but not raise it. If you lower it, the Bump cost stays the same — there is no partial refund.
- Cancelled sale: if an order is cancelled before it ships and you re-upload the item with Vinted’s “Re-upload item” button, the Bump carries on until its original end date.
- Results: your profile shows how many people saw and interacted with each bumped item.
To bump an item, open it from your wardrobe, choose the Bump option, pick 3 or 7 days and pay.
Keep older Vinted listings fresh without paying for every Bump
Is bumping on Vinted worth it?
A Bump buys attention, not a sale. It works best on an item that is already listed well, so get these right before you pay:
- The price. You cannot raise the price during a Bump, so set it first. An overpriced item gets more views and still does not sell.
- The photos. The first photo decides whether people tap. Use daylight, a plain background and the whole item in frame.
- The title and details. Brand, size, condition and colour filled in properly put the item in front of the members filtering for exactly that.
- Demand. Bumping helps an item people search for. It does little for something nobody is looking for at any price.
Bumps are best kept for your better items that have slipped down the feed, rather than spread across a whole wardrobe.
Bump, Showcase, relisting or a price drop?
| Option | What it does | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Item Bump | One item higher in feeds and search for 3 or 7 days | Paid per item, set by the item’s price and the duration | A single good item that needs a push |
| Showcase (formerly Wardrobe Spotlight) | Highlights up to 15 of your listings to likely buyers for 7 days; needs at least 5 items listed | Paid per week | Promoting your whole wardrobe at once |
| Relisting | Puts an older item back in front of buyers as a new listing | No Vinted fee; your time, or automated with FLUF | Wardrobes with many older items |
| Lowering the price | Makes the item better value against similar listings | Comes off your sale price | Items priced above what similar ones sell for |
Relisting instead of bumping
Many sellers relist items that have been sitting for a few weeks instead of paying for Bumps across their wardrobe. Doing it by hand takes a few minutes per item. Our Vinted relisting guide covers the manual method step by step.
FLUF Connect relists your older Vinted items automatically, using rules you set — for example, by how long an item has been listed or by its price. Auto-relisting is included from the Seller plan.
More buyers, not just a higher spot
A Bump only reaches Vinted members in your country. The same item listed on eBay, Depop or Vestiaire Collective is in front of a different set of buyers every day. FLUF lists an item on Vinted and your other marketplaces from one listing, and takes it down everywhere else the moment it sells, so you never sell it twice. Vinted connects through the FLUF browser extension or the FLUF mobile app.
Vinted charges sellers no selling fee — the buyer pays a Buyer Protection fee instead. To see what you would keep from the same sale elsewhere, try the Vinted fee calculator, which ranks every marketplace in your country side by side.

You can lower it while the Bump is active, but you cannot raise it. Lowering the price does not reduce what the Bump cost.
It can be for a well-photographed, fairly priced item that people search for and that has slipped down the feed. It rarely helps an overpriced item or one with little demand. Relisting older items is a common alternative that has no Vinted fee.
