Key takeaways

  • Carrefour’s marketplace on carrefour.fr is for independent professional retailers selling food and non-food products to French consumers. Private sellers cannot join.
  • Sellers apply by email to Carrefour, which sends a registration form and its seller terms, then decides who is listed. The marketplace charges a monthly subscription plus a commission on each sale; the amounts are given to applicants, not published.
  • Once live you must accept each order within 48 working hours or it is cancelled, and Carrefour tracks four performance indicators every month: order validation time, dispatch time, delivery time and customer-service quality. Missing them can get your shop deactivated.
  • Carrefour approves sellers itself. FLUF Connect does not get you in, but once you are approved you can connect your seller account and publish offers on products Carrefour’s catalogue already holds, recognised by their EAN.

This guide is for a French or EU-registered business, with a catalogue of barcoded products, that wants its goods in front of Carrefour’s online shoppers. A toy importer, a small-appliance wholesaler, a regional food producer or a DIY and garden supplier is the profile Carrefour describes. If you sell second-hand clothes as an individual, this is not your marketplace; Leboncoin and Vinted are. What follows comes from Carrefour’s own marketplace terms, read in October 2026, and from the FLUF Connect channel itself.

What the Carrefour marketplace is

Carrefour.fr is the online shop of France’s best-known supermarket group. Alongside the products Carrefour sells itself, the site hosts a marketplace which its terms of use describe as “dedicated to listing independent retailers who sell food and/or non-food products to consumer customers”. The marketplace is operated by Carrefour Drive, a Carrefour company registered in Caen, and is reachable from carrefour.fr and its mobile apps.

The same terms set out how Carrefour positions itself: as an online platform operator and technical intermediary, hosting the sellers’ offers, without any capital or legal link to the sellers it lists. Every product page tells the shopper whether the item is sold by a marketplace seller or by a Carrefour group company. Products are ranked by category and by a “best sellers” score that weighs total sales and the traffic a product generates, so a new seller starts from zero visibility and builds it with sales.

The category menu on carrefour.fr shows the non-food range the marketplace feeds: toys and games, bikes and leisure, DIY, fashion and luggage, car and motorbike, baby and childcare, books and culture, alongside the home and garden aisles.

Who can sell

Only businesses. The terms define a seller as “any professional seller who has subscribed to the services offered by Carrefour” and whose products are sold to customers on the marketplace. The customers, in turn, are defined as consumers, so this is a business-to-consumer channel.

Registration starts with an email to [email protected]. Carrefour replies with a registration form and its seller terms, which you have to accept to be listed. The criteria Carrefour uses to list, delist and rank sellers are published in a dedicated section of the site. In practice the marketplace is by approval: Carrefour reviews each application and chooses who it lists, which is why the Carrefour card in FLUF Connect reads “invite only, available by approval”.

What it costs

Carrefour’s terms state that the marketplace is paid for by “a monthly subscription paid by every listed seller and a commission taken on the sales of products made by sellers to customers”. The amounts are not on the public page: the terms direct prospective sellers to ask Carrefour for the detail of the services and the financial conditions, and that information arrives with the seller terms during registration. Budget for both a fixed monthly cost and a percentage of each sale, and ask for the commission grid by category before you sign.

Charge What Carrefour’s terms say
Monthly subscription Paid by every listed seller; amount provided on application
Commission Taken on each sale to a customer; rate provided on application
Payments Collected and paid out through a licensed payment institution that Carrefour has appointed

How orders work

The order flow is written into the terms. When a customer orders, you have 48 working hours to accept. The marketplace then emails the customer with your acceptance, and only at that point is the customer charged. If you do not answer within 48 working hours the order is cancelled automatically and the customer is never debited. That rule makes stock accuracy a daily job: an order you cannot accept because the item sold elsewhere is a cancelled order on your record.

Your shop is managed from a seller area where, according to the terms, you create and publish your product offers, update offer information, follow orders and deliveries, and see your sales history. That area is switched off if your seller agreement is suspended or ended.

The performance indicators

Carrefour collects customer reviews on the marketplace and, separately, measures each seller on four indicators: the time taken to validate an order, the time taken to dispatch it, the time taken to deliver it, and the effectiveness of the seller’s customer service. The indicators are defined in the seller terms and in a best-practice guide Carrefour gives sellers, they are followed monthly, and the terms say that failing to meet them can lead to the deactivation of the seller’s shop. Treat them as contract terms rather than targets.

Using FLUF Connect with Carrefour

Carrefour decides who sells. FLUF Connect comes in afterwards. Once your seller account is approved, you connect it from the Channels screen in FLUF Connect. FLUF can then list items from your inventory that already exist in Carrefour’s catalogue, matched by barcode (EAN), and keep their price and stock in step with the other marketplaces you manage in FLUF.

When a Carrefour order arrives, accept it in the seller area within the 48 working hours and mark the item sold in FLUF. FLUF then ends the same item’s listings on the other channels it manages for you. When the item sells on another channel first, FLUF removes the Carrefour offer so you are not left with an order you cannot accept.

Carrefour is a business channel, and the FLUF plans that fit a business selling on several professional marketplaces are on the pricing page.
