Key takeaways

  • Tesco Marketplace is the third-party section of tesco.com, launched in June 2024. Products come from sellers Tesco describes as “specially selected partners”, so it is a curated channel for UK businesses, not an open sign-up.
  • It has grown fast: about 150,000 products in its first months, over 400,000 by April 2025 and over 600,000 by October 2025, across home, garden, pet care, toys, furniture and electronics.
  • Tesco is paid by commission when your item sells. The rates are not public; they come with the seller agreement.
  • FLUF Connect does not get you onto Tesco Marketplace. Once Tesco has accepted you, you can connect the seller account and put stock on products already in its catalogue, matched by barcode.

This guide is for a UK retailer or brand with a barcoded non-food range: homeware, garden furniture, pet supplies, toys, small electricals. You may already sell those on Amazon, eBay or your own site. Tesco Marketplace puts them in front of people who already do their online grocery shop at Tesco and can add a garden bench to the same habit. If you sell second-hand clothes as an individual, this is the wrong channel; Vinted and eBay are the right ones. The facts below come from Tesco PLC’s own results statements, read in October 2026.

What Tesco Marketplace is

Tesco added a marketplace to tesco.com in June 2024. Its interim results for 2024/25 describe it as “offering customers an even broader range of products from our specially selected partners”, with over 150,000 products “across categories including garden, homeware, pet care and toys” and “a strong pipeline of further sellers being added over the coming months”.

The full-year results in April 2025 put the range at more than 400,000 third-party products “across homeware, furniture and electronics”, and give the commercial logic in one line: the marketplace helps Tesco “expand our online range in a capital-light way, with commission earned on the value of each order”. In other words, Tesco does not buy or hold your stock. You list it, you own it, and Tesco takes a share when it sells.

By the 2025/26 interim results the count had passed 600,000 products, and Tesco was presenting its new F&F clothing site as complementing “our broader Tesco Marketplace proposition”.

Who can sell

Tesco chooses its sellers. Every statement it has made about the marketplace uses the same words, “specially selected partners”, and talks about a pipeline of sellers being added rather than a form anyone can fill in. Expect to be a registered UK business with a range that fits the categories Tesco is building, stock you can ship reliably, and the customer-service capacity a supermarket brand expects. If Tesco approaches you or accepts your application, the commercial terms arrive with the agreement.

That is why the Tesco card in FLUF Connect is marked “Invite only”. The connection only works once Tesco has given you a seller account.

What it costs

Tesco takes its cut as a percentage of each sale. There is no public rate card, no published monthly fee and no list of category percentages. Before you sign, ask three things: the commission for each category you plan to list, whether any fixed monthly charge applies, and when payouts land. Then build that commission into your Tesco prices from day one.

Why the Clubcard matters

The marketplace sells to Tesco’s existing online customers, and Tesco has tied it to the loyalty scheme they already use. In its April 2025 results Tesco listed “the capability to offer customers Clubcard Prices when they shop on Tesco Marketplace” as one of the foundations it had built. For a seller, your product page sits in a shop where customers are signed in, carry a Clubcard and expect member pricing. They will also compare your item with what Tesco and other partners charge one click away, so price with that in mind.

Using FLUF Connect with Tesco

Once your seller account is live, connect it from the Channels screen in FLUF Connect. FLUF can then list items from your inventory that already exist in Tesco’s catalogue, matched by barcode (EAN), and keep their price and stock in line with the other places you sell.

In practice: when a Tesco order comes in, fulfil it from your Tesco seller account and mark the item sold in FLUF, which ends its listings on your other channels. When the same item sells somewhere else first, FLUF takes it off Tesco, so you do not end up with an order for something that has already gone.

Tesco is a business channel. The FLUF plans for a business selling across several retail marketplaces are on the pricing page.
