Sell on Cultura: Joining the Cultura.com Marketplace for Books, Games and Hobbies
Who Cultura accepts, the reported €39.99 subscription and three free months, the 48-hour dispatch and reply expectations, second-hand goods, and what FLUF Connect can list once you are approved.
- Cultura, the French chain for books, music, creative hobbies and games, runs a marketplace on cultura.com where approved businesses sell new and second-hand products alongside Cultura’s own range.
- Integrators report that it is open to companies registered in the European Union, with a warehouse in the EU and an EAN barcode on every product.
- Lengow reports a monthly subscription just under €40 before VAT, waived for a new shop’s first three months, plus a commission agreed in each seller’s contract.
- Sellers are expected to ship within 48 hours, deliver in three to five days and answer customers within 48 hours, to mainland France and Corsica.
- An approved seller can connect their account in FLUF Connect and list stock whose barcodes already exist in the Cultura catalogue. FLUF does not create catalogue products and does not import Cultura orders.
This guide is for a shop that sells books, records, art supplies, sewing and craft materials, board games or video games and wants to reach the shoppers who go to Cultura for exactly those things. Cultura shares its seller conditions with applicants rather than on an open page. The conditions below come from the Lengow guide to Cultura, an integrator that connects sellers to the marketplace, read in October 2026. Confirm each figure with Cultura when you apply. If you sell second-hand books or games as a private person, Cultura is not open to you; Vinted or Leboncoin will take your listings today.
Why sellers in culture and hobbies look at Cultura
Most French retail marketplaces sell a bit of everything. Cultura’s audience is narrower, and that is its appeal for a specialist. Lengow describes the marketplace as particularly suited to books, music, creative hobbies, fine art, sewing, stationery, educational and board games, gaming, video, and wellbeing titles. It also cites 80 million visits a year to cultura.com and 8 million members of the Cultur’addict loyalty programme. Cultura has not published those numbers itself, so treat them as indicative.
The second difference is second-hand goods. Lengow notes that Cultura is one of the few French retail marketplaces that takes both new and used products. For a dealer in used vinyl, collectible board games or pre-owned consoles, that opens a retailer’s shop window that most of its rivals keep closed.
The same source puts the average basket at about €30, below other marketplaces. That shapes what works: a €12 paperback carries its postage badly, and a shop that bundles or sells mid-priced items will find the economics easier.
Who can sell
According to Lengow, companies registered in the European Union can apply. The same page lists three practical conditions that rule many sellers in or out quickly:
- A logistics warehouse inside the EU. A UK or Swiss business shipping from home does not qualify.
- An EAN code on every product you list. That suits new books, records and boxed games, which nearly always carry one, and is harder for handmade or antique stock.
- Delivery to mainland France and Corsica.
Cultura reviews applications itself. Have your company registration, VAT number, categories and a sample of your catalogue with barcodes ready.
Fees
Lengow reports a subscription of €39.99 a month excluding VAT, with the first three months free once your shop goes live. Commission “depends on the contract”: it is agreed with Cultura and not published. Ask for the rate on each of your categories, how it is calculated and when you are paid before you sign. On a €30 basket, a few points of commission make a real difference to whether an order is worth shipping.
Service standards
Lengow lists three expectations: dispatch within 48 hours, delivery within three to five days, and a reply to customer messages within 48 hours. Cultura shoppers buy gifts and school supplies against a date, so a late parcel in December or at the start of the school year costs more goodwill than usual.
Returns follow French consumer law. A shopper has 14 days from delivery to withdraw from a distance purchase, and as the seller you handle the return. Check Cultura’s seller terms for any longer period or extra obligations when you receive them.
Is Cultura right for you?
It suits an EU-registered specialist with barcoded stock in books, music, games, creative supplies or used tech and gaming, who can ship within two days. It suits less well a generalist with no cultural range, a seller of unbarcoded handmade work, or a business outside the EU. For broader French retailers, read Sell on E.Leclerc and Sell on Auchan. For handmade work, Etsy is a better match.
Using FLUF Connect with Cultura
Cultura selects its sellers, so FLUF has no application link for it. On the Channels screen in FLUF Connect, the Cultura card is marked “Invite only” and covers one country, France. Once Cultura has accepted you and your products are in its catalogue, choose “Already approved? Connect” on the card.

FLUF can then list items from your inventory that already exist in the Cultura catalogue, matched by barcode. This fits Cultura’s own EAN rule: a book or record with its barcode in your FLUF inventory can be offered there, while an item without one stays on your other channels.
| Task | On Cultura through FLUF Connect |
|---|---|
| Apply and get accepted as a seller | You do this with Cultura |
| Connect your approved seller account | Yes, from the Channels screen |
| List stock that the catalogue already holds, by barcode | Yes |
| Create new products in the catalogue | No |
| Detect Cultura sales or import orders | No. Manage orders in your Cultura seller account. |
| Relisting or offer management | No |
Because FLUF does not see Cultura orders, a sale there does not lower the quantity on your other channels. Used stock is often a single copy, so this matters: if a first-edition comic is also listed on eBay, mark it sold yourself as soon as the Cultura order arrives, or keep one-offs off Cultura and use it for titles you hold in depth.
FLUF’s plans for businesses selling on several channels are on the pricing page. Start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month to see the Channels screen with your own stock.
