Sell on Nature & Découvertes: Marketplace Fees, Product Rules and Seller Requirements
How the Nature & Découvertes marketplace works for sellers: the €29.90 subscription and commission, the new-products-only and environmental rules, the two-day order window, and connecting an approved account to FLUF Connect.
- Nature & Découvertes, the French chain for nature, wellbeing, outdoor and gift products, has run a marketplace on natureetdecouvertes.com since 2014, with selected professional sellers listing next to its own range.
- Its seller terms set a subscription of €29.90 a month before VAT plus a commission agreed in each contract, at a rate the retailer does not publish.
- Only new products are accepted, and they must fit the shop’s existing ranges and its environmental criteria.
- You have two working days to confirm each order, you set your own delivery terms, and returns come back to you.
- An approved seller can connect their account in FLUF Connect and list stock whose barcodes already exist in the Nature & Découvertes catalogue. FLUF does not create catalogue products and does not import orders.
This guide is for a business that makes or stocks things a Nature & Découvertes shopper already buys there: essential oils and diffusers, natural cosmetics, garden and birdwatching kit, telescopes, wooden toys, teas, books about the outdoors. If that is your range and you can ship from the EU, the marketplace puts your products in front of a loyal, gift-buying audience. If you sell second-hand goods, it is closed to you, because the seller terms admit new products only.
What the marketplace is
Nature & Découvertes opened its marketplace in 2014 (FashionNetwork, May 2014). The retailer is part of the Fnac Darty group, which bought it in 2019. Its marketplace terms of use describe the sellers as “specially selected professional partners” and make clear that Nature & Découvertes is not a party to the sale: the contract is between you and the buyer.
The marketplace now carries a large share of the brand’s online trade. Its marketplace lead told mind Retail in July 2024 that it had grown from 36% to 42% of digital revenue in six months. In 2024 it added 167 sellers and reached 53,000 listings, according to an interview in Les Clés du Digital (February 2025). Those figures come from the press rather than the retailer’s own pages, so treat them as a guide to scale.
What you can sell
The marketplace page lists the ranges open to sellers:
- Aromatherapy and wellbeing
- Cosmetics and jewellery
- Garden and outdoor
- Games and toys, and childcare
- Books
- Home and fashion
- Optics and astronomy
- Teas and fine food
The listing rules add three conditions. Products must be new. They must not present a danger to health, safety or the environment. And they must fit the product ranges already on the site, which the page sums up as “doivent correspondre aux univers produits déjà existants sur le site” (they must match the product worlds already on the site). The brand describes a strict specification covering design, sourcing, manufacturing and durability, but publishes no checklist, so expect questions about materials and origin when you apply.
That last point is where Nature & Découvertes differs from the general French retail marketplaces. A seller of plastic gadgets will be turned away however well they sell elsewhere. The retailer is a certified B Corp and a French société à mission, a company whose articles commit it to a social and environmental purpose, and it applies that lens to its marketplace.
Who can sell
The seller terms require you to be a professional established in a European Union member state and to prove it, then to sign a contract once your application is approved. The marketplace page itself is stricter: it asks for registration on the French trade register (RCS). The two documents disagree, so if your company is registered elsewhere in the EU, ask before you spend time on an application.
You apply through the “Nous rejoindre” (join us) form on the marketplace page. It asks for your legal structure, the type of seller you are, your categories, how many products you would list and how you plan to send them.
Fees
The terms of use set out two charges: “un abonnement mensuel : 29,90 € HT” (a monthly subscription of €29.90 before VAT) and “une commission contractuellement déterminée calculée sur le montant TTC du prix public des produits augmenté des frais de port” (a commission set in your contract, calculated on the VAT-inclusive public price plus shipping). No rate is given there, and the integrator e-tailize also notes that no rate card is public. The terms are dated November 2022, so confirm the subscription figure as well when you apply.
Because the commission is charged on shipping as well as the item, set delivery prices that cover it. On a €40 order with €5.90 postage, the commission applies to €45.90.
Orders, payment and returns
- Order confirmation: you must confirm each order “dans un délai maximum de deux jours ouvrés” (within two working days at most). An order you do not confirm in time is cancelled automatically.
- Delivery: you set your own sale and delivery terms and ship at your own risk.
- Payment: the buyer pays at checkout, and the payment provider Hipay collects the money on your behalf.
- Returns: the buyer has 14 days to withdraw from the purchase, returns go to you and not to the retailer, and you refund within 14 days.
- Performance: the retailer monitors ratings, sales, how fast you accept and ship orders, and your customer service. Falling short can get your products removed, and either side can end the contract with one month’s notice.
Is Nature & Découvertes right for you?
It suits a small brand or specialist shop with new, well-made products in its ranges, a French or EU company, and the stock depth to confirm orders within two days. Gift seasons matter here: the shops are a destination for Christmas and birthday presents, so plan stock for November and December.
It suits less well a reseller of used items, a seller of mass-market goods with no environmental story, or anyone outside the EU. For broader French retail marketplaces, read Sell on Cultura and Sell on E.Leclerc. For handmade work, Etsy is a closer fit, and second-hand stock is better placed on Vinted or Leboncoin.
Using FLUF Connect with Nature & Découvertes
Nature & Découvertes approves its own sellers, so FLUF has no application link for it. On the Channels screen in FLUF Connect, its card is marked “Invite only” and covers one country, France. Once you have been accepted and your products exist in the retailer’s catalogue, choose “Already approved? Connect” on the card.

FLUF can then list items from your inventory that already exist in the Nature & Découvertes catalogue, matched by barcode. A diffuser or a field guide with its barcode in your FLUF inventory can be offered there, while products without one stay on your other channels.
| Task | On Nature & Découvertes through FLUF Connect |
|---|---|
| Apply and get accepted as a seller | You do this with Nature & Découvertes |
| Connect your approved seller account | Yes, from the Channels screen |
| List stock that the catalogue already holds, by barcode | Yes |
| Create new products in the catalogue | No |
| Detect sales or import orders | No. Confirm and manage orders in your seller account. |
| Relisting or offer management | No |
FLUF does not see orders from this marketplace, so a sale there does not lower the quantity on your other channels. With the two-day confirmation window, that is worth a routine: when an order arrives, check the item is still in stock before you accept it, and mark it sold in FLUF if it was your last one.
FLUF’s plans for businesses selling on several channels are on the pricing page. Start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month to see the Channels screen with your own stock.
