- Empik.com is Poland’s best-known books, music and media retailer, and its marketplace is the fastest-growing part of the Empik Group: over 1 billion zł of sales in 2025, up 40%.
- Only businesses registered in an EU country for at least a month, and shipping from the EU, can apply. Empik verifies each one before it can sell.
- There is no listing fee and the Standard plan costs nothing. You pay a commission per category when an order is accepted, plus a 0.45% platform fee. PLUS and MAX plans cost 99 zł and 499 zł net per 30 days.
- Payouts are twice a month in Polish złoty, and new sellers start with 0% commission for up to three months.
- FLUF Connect connects your approved seller account and offers your stock against products already in Empik’s catalogue, matched by barcode. Empik orders are handled in your Empik seller panel.
This guide is for a business that sells barcoded products in Poland: books, music, films and games first, then toys, cosmetics, home goods, small appliances and electronics. If you already sell on Allegro or Amazon, Empik is the Polish retailer whose customers walk into one of its 386 shops every week and buy the same categories online. A private seller clearing shelves should list on Vinted instead; Empik only accepts companies. The facts below come from Empik’s own marketplace page, its seller help centre and the Empik Group’s 2025 results, all read in October 2026.
What the Empik marketplace is
Empik started as a chain of bookshops and is now a lifestyle retailer with 386 physical stores, an online shop and a marketplace where outside sellers list beside Empik’s own range. The group’s 2025 results (22 April 2026) put total gross merchandise value at nearly 4.9 billion zł, up 16%, with the marketplace alone passing 1 billion zł, up 40% in a year. The same release counts more than 12 million customers, half of them using the Empik app or the Empik Premium subscription, and more than 20 million products on offer. A July 2026 trade report in Wirtualny Wydawca puts registered sellers above 30,000, with 7,200 joining in 2025.
For a seller the useful part of that is the customer base. Empik Premium members pay for free delivery and shop more often, and Empik’s marketplace page says a seller who joins the Premium programme can lift sales by up to 27%. Empik’s own figure, so treat it as a ceiling, but it tells you where the buyers are.
Who can sell
Empik’s marketplace page sets four conditions. Your business must be active, registered in a European Union member state, registered for at least one month, and ship orders from an EU country. A company younger than a month can fill in the form and Empik contacts it once the month has passed. Private individuals cannot sell.
Registration is three steps on the same page: fill in the application form and confirm your email, wait for Empik’s verification and activation link, then open a dedicated Empik account with the payment operator Przelewy24, complete your company details and add products. After that you work from the Seller Management Centre (Centrum Zarządzania Sprzedawcy), where you watch sales and update stock.
What it costs
Empik’s marketplace page states that running an account and listing products are free, and that charges only appear as commission and a platform fee when you accept an order. Three subscription plans sit on top of that:
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 0 zł | Base commission; preferred-sale commission at 0.25 of the base rate |
| PLUS | 99 zł net per 30 days | Preferred-sale commission at 0.15 of the base rate; your logo on the product card; basic sales analytics |
| MAX | 499 zł net per 30 days | Preferred-sale commission at 0.10 of the base rate; logo on product cards and offer lists; extended analytics |
The paid plans also list priority support, a regular technology audit, discounts on brand-zone and Rich Content packages, and help with Empik Ads. The seller help centre says which plan includes which.
“Preferred sale” (sprzedaż preferowana) is Empik’s term for orders won through its own promotions, so the multipliers matter most to sellers who join those campaigns.
Commission (prowizja) is set per category and quoted net of VAT. The commission grid published on Empik’s site (2024 edition) gives, for example, 3.75% on smartphones, 2.2% on laptops, 8.5% on electronics in general, 8% on games and software, 9% on cosmetics, 10% on toys and 12% on home and garden. Some categories step down above a price threshold: vacuum-cleaner accessories pay 10.5% up to 60 zł, then 6.30 zł plus 6.5% on the amount above. Empik revises the grid, and the current version sits in the seller help centre, so check your categories there before you price.
On top of commission, Empik’s help centre article on settlements and invoices describes a platform fee of 0.45% of the gross order value, product plus delivery, charged monthly and only in months with sales.
A worked example at the Standard plan: a board game sold for 150 zł plus 12 zł delivery in the toys category pays 10% commission on 150 zł, which is 15 zł net, plus 0.45% of 162 zł, about 0.73 zł. You keep roughly 146 zł of the 162 zł the customer paid, before VAT on the fees and before your own shipping cost.
New sellers get a welcome package: 0% commission for up to three months from joining, and the PLUS plan free for 30 days. The marketplace page points to the regulations for the conditions, so read them before you count on the full three months.
How and when you get paid
The same settlements article says Empik pays out twice a month, on the 15th and on the last day of the month, in złoty. Sellers with good service metrics can be moved to a payout every five days, and sellers with Super Seller status to a daily payout. Commission is deducted from the payout first; if a month’s fees exceed what Empik owes you, the difference is invoiced. From 1 April 2026 Empik’s invoices to sellers go through KSeF, Poland’s national e-invoicing system, so your accountant needs access to it.
Delivery, stores and Empik Premium
You ship every order yourself. Empik’s marketplace page lists the delivery options you can offer: parcel lockers, DPD Pickup, courier, and delivery to one of nearly 400 Empik stores for the customer to collect. Store collection is the option the others do not have, and it is what makes Empik feel local to a buyer in a town with an Empik on the high street.
Joining Empik Premium, where members get free delivery, has entry conditions on the marketplace page: an order acceptance rate above 90%, an average rating of at least 4.3, and at least one of the InPost, Poczta Polska, Żabka, DPD Pickup or Empik store delivery methods. Empik co-funds part of the free delivery for Premium orders. The page also lists Empik Ads for sponsored placement, seasonal trade campaigns (akcje handlowe) at no charge, and an Outlet section for used, refurbished and damaged-packaging stock.
How listing works
Empik works from one product card per product. If the book, game or appliance you sell is already on empik.com, you attach your offer to the existing card with your price and stock, matched by its barcode (EAN or ISBN). If it is not, a new card has to be created with a category, attributes, title, description and photos, and Empik checks it before the offer goes live. Barcodes are required; only an exclusive distributor or the manufacturer can ask Empik for an exception.
Using FLUF Connect with Empik
FLUF Connect does not get you approved. Once Empik has verified your company, connect your seller account from the Channels screen in FLUF Connect. The Empik card is marked invite only and lists one country, Poland, because Empik approves the account first.

After you connect, FLUF can offer items from your inventory that already exist in Empik’s catalogue, matched by barcode, and keep their price and stock in line with your other channels.
| Task | On Empik through FLUF Connect |
|---|---|
| Apply and be verified as a seller | You do this with Empik |
| Connect your seller account | Yes, from the Channels screen |
| Offer your stock on products already in Empik’s catalogue (barcode match) | Yes |
| Create new product cards in Empik’s catalogue | No |
| Detect Empik orders | No. Handle them in your Empik seller panel. |
| Relisting or offer management | No |
When an Empik order arrives, fulfil it from your Empik seller panel and mark the item sold in FLUF so its listings on your other channels end. If the item sells somewhere else first, FLUF removes the Empik offer, so nobody buys stock you no longer have.
Empik is a business channel. FLUF plans for businesses selling on several retail marketplaces are on the pricing page. The same inventory can run on Allegro and Amazon alongside, which is how most Polish sellers use it.
Is Empik right for you?
Yes, if you are an EU company with barcoded stock in Empik’s categories, can ship from the EU within Empik’s service levels and want the Premium buyers who already shop there for books, media and lifestyle goods. The free Standard plan and the three-month 0% start make the test cheap. No, if you are outside the EU, sell unbarcoded or handmade goods, or are not a registered business.
