Crosslist from Mercari to Poshmark — Automatically
Move your Mercari listings to Poshmark in minutes. Field mapping, the condition gap, the brand trap that hides listings from Posh Parties — and the policy Poshmark just retired.
- Mercari: 10% seller fee, listing costs nothing, no payment processing fee, and weight-banded prepaid labels up to 50 lb.
- Poshmark: $2.95 flat under $15, 20% at $15 and above, with a $6.49 buyer-paid flat shipping label — recently changed from $7.97 Priority to Ground Advantage.
- This just got much safer. Poshmark retired its Excessive Listing Removal policy on 23 July 2026 — the rule that punished crosslisters for deleting listings. Almost every guide and forum thread on this pair predates that.
- Fields that transfer: title, description, up to 12 photos, price, brand, size and category. Three do not exist on Mercari at all — colour, original price and a SKU.
- Condition is lossy by design: Mercari’s five grades collapse into Poshmark’s two-and-a-blank. Worth understanding before you bulk-publish.
- Cost: from £19/month. There is no free plan.

The policy change that changed this pair
If you researched Mercari-to-Poshmark crosslisting before late July 2026, the picture you formed is out of date.
From May 2025, Poshmark ran an Excessive Listing Removal policy that flagged sellers for deleting too many listings. It was aimed at people listing items they no longer had — but it landed hardest on crosslisters, who delete a Poshmark listing precisely because the item sold on eBay or Mercari. Sellers described being stuck choosing between a warning for deleting, a warning for marking not-for-sale, and a warning for cancelling.
Poshmark retired it on 23 July 2026. In its own words: “We’re removing the Excessive Listing Removal policy… the Seller Community made it clear how much this policy weighed on day-to-day inventory management, and we took that seriously. Moving forward, you can delete listings freely and run your closet however works best for your business.”
That removes the single biggest structural argument against crosslisting to Poshmark. Almost every competitor page, and every Reddit thread you will find on this topic, was written while that policy was live.
The Seller Cancellation Policy remains, and it is now the only mechanism by which an oversell hurts you on Poshmark: cancel more than 3% of orders in a rolling 90 days and you face restrictions or suspension. Buyer-requested and bundle cancellations are excluded. Poshmark’s new seller-recognition programme sets an even stricter bar at 2%.
So the risk has moved from deleting listings to cancelling orders — which is an argument for proper inventory sync rather than against crosslisting.
Why sell on both Mercari and Poshmark?
Because they attract different buyers and reward different effort. Mercari is browse-driven, low-friction and largely passive once listed. Poshmark is social — visibility is a direct function of how much you share your closet — and its buyers are more brand-led.
Sellers who run both describe the split consistently. One who crossposts an 8,000-listing catalogue reported Mercari making up under 15% of total sales but still being worth the work. Another put the category logic plainly: “Mercari is good for things you want gone quickly and cheaply. $30 shorts and leggings will not move there.”
Fee comparison on a $30 item
| Mercari | Poshmark | |
|---|---|---|
| Listing fee | $0.00 | $0.00 |
| Seller fee on $30 | 10% = $3.00 (plus 10% of buyer-paid shipping) | 20% = $6.00 |
| Payment processing | $0.00 | Included |
| Buyer pays on top | 3.6% protection fee + shipping | $6.49 flat shipping |
| You keep, roughly | $26.25 (on a 1 lb buyer-paid label) | $24.00 |
| Under $15 | 10% | $2.95 flat — cheaper than Mercari below about $29.50 |
Note the crossover: Poshmark’s $2.95 flat fee under $15 is significantly cheaper than a percentage. On a $12 item you keep $9.05 on Poshmark and $10.80 on Mercari — but on a $14.99 item Poshmark keeps you at $12.04 against Mercari’s $13.49. Above $15 Poshmark’s 20% is the most expensive fee of any major US resale platform.
Sellers in Texas should note an additional Texas Seller Fee Tax deducted from earnings since 1 October 2025.
How to crosslist from Mercari to Poshmark with FLUF Connect
- Sign in to FLUF Connect and open the Channels page.
- Connect Mercari. Mercari is an extension-first channel — the FLUF browser extension needs to be installed and signed in.
- Connect Poshmark, likewise through the extension.
- Import your Mercari listings, including photos, price, brand, size, condition and category.
- Fill the three gaps. Poshmark needs an original price, a colour and a size in its own vocabulary — none of which Mercari records in a directly usable form. Set defaults once rather than per item.
- Select and publish.
What transfers — field and category mapping
| Mercari field | Poshmark field | Transfer status | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Title | Title | Automatic | Poshmark caps at 80 characters. |
| Description | Description | Automatic, cleaned | Poshmark caps at 1,500 characters and accepts no HTML or special characters. Formatting is stripped. |
| Photos (up to 12) | Covershot + up to 15 alt images | Automatic | Poshmark allows 16, so nothing is lost going this direction. The first Mercari photo becomes the Covershot. |
| Price | Listing Price | Automatic | Consider the fee crossover above before copying prices straight across. |
| Brand | Brand | Smart mapped | Critical — see the warning below. Poshmark’s brand catalogue runs to roughly 30,000 entries and unmatched brands are treated as custom. |
| Condition (5 values) | NWT / Boutique / blank | Lossy | See the condition section below. |
| Size | Size | Smart mapped | Mercari sizes bake a range into the label, e.g. “M (38-40)”. Poshmark uses its own controlled sets with international size pickers. |
| Category (3 levels) | Department → Category → Sub-Category | Smart mapped | Both are three levels, so this is the cleanest mapping in the set. Department and Category are required; Sub-Category is optional. |
| Weight | — | Discarded | Poshmark’s flat rate means weight is never captured. Keep it for Mercari. |
| — | Colour | Manual or inferred | Mercari has no colour field at all. Poshmark takes up to two colours from a dropdown; the value has to be derived from your title and description. |
| — | Original Price | Manual | Poshmark requires an MSRP. Mercari has no equivalent. Poshmark’s own guidance: estimate it, or enter $0. |
| — | SKU | Generated | Mercari has no seller-facing SKU, and Poshmark’s bulk pathway is SKU-keyed with duplicates rejected. FLUF Connect mints and persists one. |
Poshmark states that custom brands and sizes may not share to Posh Parties. Parties are Poshmark’s primary discovery surface — four run every day. So a crosslisted listing whose brand does not exactly match a Poshmark catalogue entry is silently excluded from the main way Poshmark buyers find things. Nothing errors; the listing simply never surfaces.
The same applies to custom sizes, which also drop out of the “My Size” filter. Poshmark’s own advice is to use its standardised options and treat custom values as a last resort.
Condition mapping — a genuine information loss
| Mercari | What it means | Poshmark |
|---|---|---|
| New | Unused, tags attached | NWT |
| Like New | Mercari’s definition: used very lightly or not at all, without tags | blank |
| Good | Normal used condition | blank |
| Fair | Visible wear | blank |
| Poor | May only be usable for parts or repairs | blank |
| — | Purchased directly from a brand or distributor, sold for the first time | Boutique |
Poshmark has no used gradation at all. Four of Mercari’s five conditions collapse into a single blank value, which means a Poshmark buyer cannot distinguish a barely-worn item from a damaged one except by reading your description. That is not a mapping failure — it is how Poshmark is built.
The practical consequence: when you crosslist anything below Like New, put the condition detail in the description text, because the structured field will not carry it. This is also why the “not as described” claim rate is worth watching on Poshmark for crosslisted inventory.
Category mapping examples
| Mercari | Poshmark |
|---|---|
| Women → Sweats & hoodies → Hoodie | Women → Women Tops → Sweatshirts & Hoodies |
| Women → Shoes → Sneakers | Women → Women Shoes → Sneakers |
| Handbags → Shoulder bags | Women → Women Bags → Shoulder Bags |
| Home → Kitchen | Home → Kitchen & Dining |
| Electronics → Headphones | Electronics → Headphones |
Worth knowing that Poshmark is no longer fashion-only — its departments now include Home, Pets and Electronics alongside Women, Men and Kids, so more of a mixed Mercari catalogue has a destination than most guides assume.
What syncs, and what doesn’t
| Event | What happens | Timing |
|---|---|---|
| Item sells on Mercari | Removed from Poshmark automatically | Within minutes |
| Item sells on Poshmark | Not yet detected automatically | See below |
| Price changed in FLUF Connect | Updated on both | Within minutes |
| Sold on a third channel | Removed from both | Within minutes |
| Edits made directly in either app | Not synced | Edit in FLUF Connect |
Be clear about the gap, because it is the thing sellers care most about. Sale detection on Poshmark is not yet implemented. A sale on Mercari will remove the item from Poshmark automatically, and a sale on any other connected channel will remove it from both — but a sale on Poshmark will not currently pull the item down from Mercari on its own.
Until that lands, the practical approach is to treat Poshmark as the channel you reconcile manually when it sells. Given Poshmark’s 3% cancellation ceiling, that is worth building into your routine rather than leaving to memory.
This is exactly the failure mode sellers describe: “the people who soured on crosslisters never complain about the listing side, it’s always the delist sync. A double sale from a slow sync means a cancellation, and the defect rate hit costs more than the listing time the tool ever saved.” We would rather say plainly where we are than let you find out from a cancellation.
What does not transfer at all
Likes, watchers, followers, share history and offer history are entirely platform-local. A crosslisted listing arrives on Poshmark with zero social capital — and on Poshmark specifically, that matters more than on any other marketplace, because visibility is a direct function of manual sharing you have not done.
| Mechanic | Mercari | Poshmark |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery driver | Search and feed | Sharing to followers and Posh Parties |
| Parties | None | 4 per day — 9am, 12pm, 4pm, 7pm PST |
| Offer to interested buyers | Offer to Likers, with auto-send | Offer to Likers, manual |
| Offer floor | Seller-set | At least 10% below the listing price, and below the buyer’s best offer in 90 days |
| Automated price drops | Smart Pricing | Not native |
One genuine Mercari advantage worth exploiting: its Offer to Likers can be armed once and left running — set a delay and Mercari sends your most recent offer automatically to each new liker. Poshmark’s equivalent is manual and time-boxed to 24 hours. If you are splitting attention between the two, automate Mercari and spend your manual time on Poshmark sharing.
A caution on Poshmark sharing volume: sellers report rate limiting — commonly described as “share jail” — at roughly six to eight thousand shares in a rolling 24 hours. Poshmark does not publish a threshold, so treat that as community estimate rather than fact, and space shares through the day.
Before and after — the real workflow
Without FLUF Connect
- Open the Mercari listing and copy the title
- Save all twelve photos to your device
- Start a Poshmark listing and re-upload every photo
- Trim the title to 80 characters
- Paste the description and strip anything Poshmark will reject
- Pick Department, Category and Sub-Category
- Find the brand in Poshmark’s catalogue — or accept the party exclusion
- Pick a size from Poshmark’s own set
- Choose up to two colours that Mercari never recorded
- Invent an Original Price
- Decide the condition, knowing four grades collapse to one
- Set the listing price
- Record which items are now live in two places
- When it sells, go back and remove the other listing
Community-reported timings put a first listing at 3 to 15 minutes depending on care, with the incremental cost of copying to a second platform at two to five minutes per item. The last two steps are the ones people miss.
With FLUF Connect
- Select items in your catalogue
- Choose Poshmark
- Confirm the pre-mapped fields
- Publish
Around 20 seconds per item once your defaults are set.
Manual: roughly 4 to 8 hours of pure duplication. With FLUF Connect: well under an hour. Sellers commonly put the break-even point for paying for a tool at around 100 to 150 active listings.
What each platform’s rules actually say
A persistent myth is that these platforms forbid listing the same item elsewhere. Reading the actual policy text: neither Mercari nor Poshmark prohibits multi-platform listing.
- Poshmark’s terms contain no exclusivity clause. Its automation restriction is scoped to data collection — scraping and harvesting — rather than to running your own closet. And Poshmark actively invites imports from competitors: “Already list your catalog on another marketplace? Export and map it to the Poshmark template for easy inventory import and upload.”
- Mercari’s marketplace guidelines list no exclusivity clause either. The rule that does bite is about duplicates within Mercari: “Each listing must represent an item that is available for purchase. Multiple listings for the same item will be removed.” The operative half for a crosslister is the first sentence — a listing left live after the item sold elsewhere stops representing something available.
Both platforms price overselling directly. Mercari charges a cancellation fee of 5% of the item price, capped at $25. Poshmark uses the 3% rolling cancellation rate described above. Neither penalty is avoidable by being careful at volume — which is the entire argument for inventory sync.
Automation for Mercari and Poshmark sellers
| Feature | Mercari | Poshmark |
|---|---|---|
| Crosslisting | Yes | Yes |
| Sale detection | Yes | Not yet |
| Sold elsewhere → delisted here | Yes | Yes |
| In-place price edits | Yes | Yes |
| Auto-relisting | Not yet | Not yet |
| Offer management | Not yet | Not yet |
| Bulk operations | Yes | Yes |
| Connection | Browser extension | Browser extension |
Both are extension-first channels, so the FLUF browser extension needs to be installed and signed in. Relisting and offer management are not yet available on either — on Mercari because its in-place edit surface currently covers price but not title, description or size, so a full relist cannot be automated safely. Price edits do work in place on Mercari, which means a price drop preserves a listing’s age, likes and views rather than resetting them.
What it costs
| Plan | Price | Products | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | £19/month | 1,000 | All automation features |
| Seller | £99/month | 5,000 | All automation features |
| Super Seller | £299/month | Unlimited | Priority sync |
There is no free plan. Every plan covers crosslisting between all supported channels, so the same catalogue also reaches eBay, Depop, Vinted, Etsy and more. Full detail on the pricing page, and an honest comparison at FLUF Connect vs Vendoo.

Frequently Asked Questions
No — Poshmark retired the Excessive Listing Removal policy on 23 July 2026. In its own words: “Moving forward, you can delete listings freely and run your closet however works best for your business.” That policy, live since May 2025, was the single biggest structural argument against crosslisting to Poshmark, and almost every guide and forum thread you will find predates its removal. The Seller Cancellation Policy still applies: cancel more than 3% of orders in a rolling 90 days and you face restrictions.
Plans start at £19/month (Growth — 1,000 products). There is no free plan. Every plan includes crosslisting, inventory sync, relisting, offers and bulk operations across all supported channels — automation is not a paid add-on, and the same catalogue can also reach eBay, Depop, Vinted and Etsy.
It depends on price. Poshmark charges a flat $2.95 under $15 and 20% at $15 and above; Mercari charges a flat 10%. So Poshmark is cheaper below roughly $29.50 only for items under $15, and above $15 Poshmark's 20% is the most expensive fee among major US resale platforms. On a $30 item you keep about $26.25 on Mercari against $24.00 on Poshmark. Texas sellers also see an additional Texas Seller Fee Tax on Poshmark since October 2025.
It is genuinely lossy. Mercari has five conditions — New, Like New, Good, Fair and Poor. Poshmark has only NWT, Boutique and a blank value, with no used gradation at all, so four of Mercari's five collapse into blank. A Poshmark buyer cannot then distinguish a barely-worn item from a damaged one except by reading your description, so put condition detail in the description text when crosslisting anything below Like New.
Most often the brand. Poshmark states that custom brands and sizes may not share to Posh Parties — and parties, four a day, are Poshmark's main discovery surface. If your Mercari brand does not exactly match an entry in Poshmark's catalogue of roughly 30,000 brands, the listing is silently excluded from the main way buyers find things. Nothing errors. Custom sizes also drop out of the “My Size” filter.
Three things. Colour — Mercari has no colour field at all, so it has to be derived from your title and description. Original Price, an MSRP that Poshmark requires and Mercari has no equivalent for; Poshmark's own guidance is to estimate it or enter $0. And a SKU, which Mercari does not expose and Poshmark's bulk pathway is keyed on, so FLUF Connect mints and persists one for you.
Yes, automatically, within minutes — as will a sale on any other connected channel. The reverse does not yet work: sale detection on Poshmark is not implemented, so a sale on Poshmark will not currently pull the item down from Mercari on its own. Until it lands, treat Poshmark as the channel you reconcile by hand when it sells. Given Poshmark's 3% cancellation ceiling, that is worth building into your routine.
Neither does. Poshmark's terms contain no exclusivity clause — its automation restriction covers data scraping, not running your own closet — and Poshmark actively invites imports, telling sellers to export their catalogue from another marketplace and map it to the Poshmark template. Mercari's guidelines have no exclusivity clause either; its rule about duplicate listings governs duplicates within Mercari. What both do penalise is overselling: Mercari charges 5% of the item price capped at $25, and Poshmark enforces its 3% cancellation rate.
All of them. Mercari allows up to 12 photos and Poshmark allows 16 — one Covershot plus 15 alternates — so nothing is lost in this direction, and your first Mercari photo becomes the Poshmark Covershot. Going the other way would truncate. Poshmark also supports a single 15-second video, which Mercari has no equivalent for.
Sellers report 3 to 15 minutes to create a first listing depending on how carefully they work, with the incremental cost of copying it to a second platform running two to five minutes per item. With FLUF Connect it is around 20 seconds once your defaults are set. The commonly cited break-even for paying for a tool is roughly 100 to 150 active listings — though the real saving is usually avoiding cancellations rather than the typing.
