Crosslist from Trendyol to Etsy: the handmade rule, fees in lira and dollars, and one-way sync
Etsy takes what you made, designed, handpicked or sourced and refuses the rest, so a Trendyol catalogue splits before any tool touches it. What qualifies, what a Turkish seller pays, how ETGB customs work, and which sync direction is not live yet.
- Etsy’s first question is who made the thing. It accepts items you made, items you designed, vintage you handpicked and craft supplies you sourced. It refuses mass-produced stock bought to resell. Your own kilim cushions, hand-poured candles or silver filigree qualify; factory homeware from a wholesaler does not, however good the photographs.
- Türkiye is a direct Etsy Payments country. You link a Turkish bank account and are paid into it; the Payoneer route that sellers in the UAE, Egypt or Pakistan must use does not apply to you.
- Etsy’s take for a Turkish seller is roughly 15% of an order before advertising. A 6.5% transaction fee, 6.5% + 14 TRY payment processing, a 1.67% regulatory operating fee, USD 0.20 per listing, and 2.5% when a currency is converted.
- Trendyol’s commission on the same categories is higher, but it is a lira sale. Home textiles about 20%, jewellery about 22%, plus a per-parcel platform fee. The reason to add Etsy is the buyer paying in dollars or pounds, not a fee saving.
- Customs got easier in January 2026. The micro-export declaration (ETGB) now covers consignments up to 600 kg and EUR 30,000, double the old limits, so your courier files the export paperwork on almost any Etsy order.
- Sync runs one way for now. An Etsy sale zeroes the item on Trendyol automatically. A Trendyol sale is not yet detected, so mark it sold in FLUF Connect and the Etsy listing comes down.
- Through FLUF Connect: one catalogue, 51 marketplaces, Trendyol connected with the API key and secret from your partner panel. 7 days for £1, then from £9/month, then plans from £9/month.

Which of your Trendyol products Etsy will accept
Etsy accepts a Trendyol product only if you made it, designed it, handpicked it as vintage, or sourced it as a craft supply. Everything else is refused by policy, not by a tool. Etsy’s help page puts it in one line: “Reselling mass-produced items is not allowed on Etsy”, and reselling is not allowed in the Handmade category at all. Trendyol asks none of this; a pallet of imported mugs sits beside a hand-thrown one and the platform treats them identically. So sort your catalogue into Etsy’s four boxes before you connect anything.
Made by a seller. Physical items you produced yourself, by hand or with your own tools. This is the Turkish craft export in its natural form: hand-loomed peştemal towels, needle-lace oya, copper coffee pots hammered in Gaziantep, blown-glass evil-eye beads, cushions sewn from old kilims.
Designed by a seller. Your original design, produced or printed by a third party. This box saves many Trendyol businesses. If you draw the pattern and a mill in Denizli weaves the throw to your specification, it is yours to sell on Etsy, provided you disclose the production partner in the listing. If you bought the mill’s standard line from its catalogue, it is not.
Handpicked by a seller. Vintage, which Etsy defines as at least 20 years old, plus items from nature and curated collections. A dealer in old Anatolian rugs or Ottoman brass fits here without touching the handmade rules.
Sourced by a seller. Craft and party supplies that let the buyer make something: loose beads, undyed yarn, leather offcuts, mosaic tesserae. It is also the only box where Etsy tolerates drop shipping: drop shipping is not allowed, with the limited exception of Craft and Party Supplies.
The test is one question per product: can you truthfully answer Etsy’s “Who made it?” with “I did” or “a member of my shop”, or its “What is it?” with “vintage” or “a supply”? If the honest answer is “a factory I have no relationship with”, leave that product on Trendyol. Listing it anyway is the fastest route to a suspension, and the suspension takes the qualifying half of your catalogue down with it.
Why a Turkish maker should be on Etsy
Because Etsy’s buyer pays in dollars, pounds and euros for exactly the categories Türkiye already exports well. Etsy reported approximately 87 million active buyers for the twelve months to June 2026, on quarterly marketplace sales of USD 2.6 billion, and those buyers type “Turkish towel”, “kilim pillow” and “evil eye” as generic product names.
The export figures say the demand is real and growing. Türkiye’s home textile exports reached USD 3.2 billion in 2025, first in Europe and fifth worldwide. Handmade carpet exports rose 53.9% year on year in the first half of 2025, with the United States the largest destination for Turkish carpets, then Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Etsy’s largest buyer base is American and its second is British, so the marketplace sits on your two best export markets.
Trendyol’s own leadership makes the price argument. Explaining its cross-border push, the chairman noted that the average basket in Türkiye is about USD 20, while in the Gulf it rises to USD 120. Etsy’s buyers are the same phenomenon in another currency: a hand-loomed throw that struggles at 900 TL in Istanbul is an ordinary USD 60 purchase in Portland.
Keep Trendyol’s cross-border programme too. It sells Turkish sellers’ stock through separate storefronts for Germany, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Greece, Slovakia, Romania, Czechia and Bulgaria, and Trendyol reports a target of USD 10 billion in seller exports in 2026. Etsy adds what those storefronts do not reach: North America, the United Kingdom, Australia and the craft-buying end of Western Europe, for the handmade segment specifically.
What each marketplace takes, in lira and in dollars
Etsy charges a Turkish seller about 15% of an order before any advertising fee; Trendyol charges 19% to 22% commission on the craft and home categories plus a per-parcel service fee, in lira. The two are built differently, so the table separates fixed and percentage parts.
| Charge | Trendyol (domestic, TRY) | Etsy (seller in Türkiye) |
|---|---|---|
| Listing | None | USD 0.20 per listing, renewed on each sale and every four months |
| Commission / transaction fee | By category: home textiles about 20.34%, kitchen and tableware about 19.32%, women’s clothing and bags about 21.36%, jewellery about 22.37% (Trendyol’s rate sheet; public transcription dated 27 July 2026), on the price excluding VAT | 6.5% of the order total, including postage and gift wrap |
| Payment processing | Included in commission | 6.5% + 14 TRY per order for Türkiye (US sellers pay 3% + USD 0.25; UK sellers 4% + GBP 0.20) |
| Regulatory operating fee | None | 1.67% of the order total for sellers in Türkiye |
| Per-parcel platform fee | 10.99 TL + VAT per shipment (4.99 TL + VAT for qualifying same-day dispatch) | None |
| Currency conversion | Not applicable | 2.5% whenever your listing currency differs from your payment currency |
| Advertising you cannot fully opt out of | None mandatory | Offsite Ads: 15% of an attributed order, 12% once the shop has passed USD 10,000 in a 365-day period, capped at USD 100 per order; compulsory above that threshold |
| One-off cost to open | None | A one-time, non-refundable shop set-up fee, shown to you before the shop opens |
Worked through on one order. A cotton peştemal at USD 28 with USD 12 postage to the United States is a USD 40 order. Etsy takes USD 0.20 listing, USD 2.60 transaction, USD 2.60 plus 14 TRY payment processing and USD 0.67 regulatory fee: about USD 6.07 plus 14 TRY, before any Offsite Ads attribution or conversion. The same towel on Trendyol at 1,100 TL including VAT pays roughly 20% of the VAT-exclusive price in commission, around 180 TL, then 10.99 TL plus VAT for the parcel, and a shipping charge that switches from flat under-threshold rates to desi-based pricing at 350 TL. The lira order nets less and comes from a buyer who compared you against a hundred factory towels at 300 TL.
Two cautions on the Trendyol column. Rates are set per leaf category and revised; the binding figure is in your partner panel’s agreement screen. And Trendyol’s Women Entrepreneur Programme and other schemes charge far below the standard sheet, so check what you actually pay before deciding a category is cheaper on Etsy.
Getting paid: Etsy Payments in Türkiye and currency choice
A seller in Türkiye enrols in Etsy Payments directly with a Turkish bank account. Türkiye is on Etsy’s list of eligible countries without the asterisk marking countries where Payoneer is mandatory; that Payoneer requirement covers sixteen countries including the UAE, Egypt, India and Pakistan, and pays them only in US dollars. PayPal does not operate in Türkiye, so it is not a checkout option in your shop, but Etsy Payments handles card, bank and wallet payments regardless.
Choose your listing currency deliberately. Turkish lira is one of the currencies Etsy Payments supports, and deposits arrive in the currency of the country where your bank account is held. But most of your buyers browse in USD, GBP or EUR, and a lira price converted on the fly shows as USD 27.83 one week and USD 27.10 the next. The usual choice for Turkish shops is to list in USD, accept the 2.5% conversion on deposits, and hold the sticker price still. Set it once: FLUF Connect pushes the price you hold for the product, and the shop currency decides what Etsy does with it.
Payout rhythm differs. Trendyol pays on Mondays and Thursdays for items whose maturity period, counted from delivery, has elapsed, with cargo invoices deducted. Etsy releases funds to your payment account after the order, on the deposit schedule you choose, with new shops subject to a reserve. Plan on Etsy money arriving sooner and Trendyol money in a steadier, later drip.
Shipping from Türkiye and the micro-export declaration
Every Etsy order posted from Türkiye is an export, and since January 2026 almost all of them fit the simplified micro-export regime. Under the Electronic Commerce Customs Declaration, the ETGB, an authorised express carrier files the export declaration for you without a customs broker. The amendment to the postal and express cargo communiqué raised the ceiling from 300 kg and EUR 15,000 to 600 kg and EUR 30,000 per consignment, effective 3 January 2026. Unless you are shipping a room-sized carpet to a hotel, an Etsy parcel never approaches either number.
The regime needs an invoice per parcel, a GTIP tariff code and origin declaration per product, and a carrier operating under ETGB. You will recognise the list: Trendyol’s cross-border programme asks you to enter GTIP and origin data on each product before it can be sold abroad. If you prepared a catalogue for Trendyol’s German or Gulf storefronts, the customs data for Etsy is already done.
Carriers fall into three tiers. PTT’s international service, sold as Turpex, is the cheapest for light parcels and the usual starting point; tracked, slower. DHL eCommerce, which absorbed MNG Kargo’s network, is priced for European destinations and is already one of Trendyol’s contracted domestic carriers, so one account serves both channels. UPS, FedEx and DHL Express cost more and are what you use for carpets, copperware and anything a buyer will chase. Etsy does not sell postage labels to sellers in Türkiye, so you buy from the carrier and paste the tracking number into the order; FLUF Connect does not post parcels either.
Etsy also requires two things from your shop before any listing can go live, and FLUF Connect will not invent them: at least one shipping profile, with a processing time and a cross-border service, and a return policy. Create both in Shop Manager once. A shop with no shipping profile fails every crosslist, and the failure message says so.
What transfers, field by field
Trendyol’s model is a barcode-keyed product with variants, a brand, a leaf category and up to eight images; Etsy’s is a listing with a title, a story, up to twenty photographs and a set of “About this listing” answers. FLUF Connect carries the shared fields across and asks you for the ones only Etsy requires.
| Field | On Trendyol | On Etsy | On the way across |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product identity | The barcode; every variant is one barcode and FLUF Connect treats it as the product’s ID | Etsy assigns a listing number; no barcode needed | A Trendyol product without a barcode will not cross cleanly. Give every product one in your partner panel first |
| Title | Up to 100 characters | Up to 140 characters | Transfers intact, with 40 spare characters for the English terms Etsy buyers use |
| Description | Up to 30,000 characters, HTML allowed | Plain text; the first lines show in search | Transfers with formatting stripped. Put the maker’s story in English at the top |
| Images | Maximum eight per barcode | Up to 20 photos and two short videos | All eight transfer; add a lifestyle and a scale shot in FLUF Connect before you push |
| Brand | Mandatory; no product without a Trendyol brand | No brand field | Dropped; your shop name is the brand |
| Category | Leaf category with required attributes | Etsy taxonomy category | FLUF Connect proposes one; check the first few products in a new line, because Home and Living and Craft Supplies carry different rules |
| Who made it, what is it, when | Not asked | Required on every listing | You set these in FLUF Connect; they decide whether Etsy treats the item as handmade, vintage or a supply |
| Tags | Not asked | Up to 13 | Etsy search runs on tags; an untagged listing is invisible |
| Price | List and sale price in TRY, VAT included | One price in shop currency | Transfers as your FLUF Connect price; reprice for dollars rather than converting lira |
| Stock | Quantity per barcode | Quantity per listing | Transfers and stays in sync |
| Variants | Colour and size as separate barcodes | Variations inside one listing | Each barcode becomes its own product; group them on Etsy afterwards if you want one listing with a colour picker |
| Postage and returns | Trendyol’s cargo contract and return rules | Your shop’s shipping profile and return policy | Not transferred; Etsy applies the shop’s existing profile and policy |
The barcode row is the one that stops a batch. Trendyol identifies a product by its barcode, and so does FLUF Connect when it reads your catalogue. A product with no barcode, or a placeholder several variants share, has no stable identity to carry to Etsy or to sync against later. Fix barcodes in the partner panel before you import; a minute per product saves an afternoon.
How to crosslist from Trendyol to Etsy with FLUF Connect
You connect both marketplaces, import your Trendyol catalogue, answer Etsy’s three provenance questions, and push the products you chose. Neither channel needs a browser extension.
- Connect Trendyol. In the partner panel, open integration settings and copy the seller ID, API key and API secret. Paste them into FLUF Connect’s Trendyol channel page and choose the storefront the catalogue lives on. FLUF Connect reads your approved products.
- Connect Etsy. Authorise FLUF Connect against your Etsy shop from its channel page. Etsy asks you to approve access once.
- Import and filter. Your Trendyol products appear in the listings view, one row per barcode. Filter to the products that pass the eligibility test. Nothing you did not select reaches Etsy.
- Answer the provenance questions. Who made it, what it is, when it was made. Name a production partner where one exists; be sure of the 20 years for vintage.
- Add tags and an English title. Use the 40 extra characters and the 13 tags; this decides whether the listing is found.
- Set the Etsy price in your shop currency for the buyer you want, not by dividing the lira price by the day’s rate.
- Crosslist. Select and push. FLUF Connect creates the listings, records each Etsy listing against its Trendyol barcode, and starts syncing stock.
The reverse direction works too. FLUF Connect crosslists to Trendyol as well as from it, so a maker who began on Etsy can take the same catalogue onto Trendyol and its cross-border storefronts, provided each product has a brand, a barcode, a VAT rate and at least one image.

What syncs between Trendyol and Etsy, and what does not
An Etsy sale zeroes the product on Trendyol automatically; a Trendyol sale does not yet come down to Etsy on its own. That asymmetry is the most important operational fact on this page.
| Event | What FLUF Connect does |
|---|---|
| Item sells on Etsy | Order sync records the sale, the Trendyol quantity is set to zero, and the product is ended on every other connected marketplace |
| Item sells on Trendyol | Not detected yet. Mark it sold in FLUF Connect and the Etsy listing, and any other channel’s, comes down |
| Item sells on a third connected marketplace | The Etsy listing is ended and the Trendyol quantity zeroed |
| Price or stock changed in FLUF Connect | Pushed to Trendyol and to Etsy |
| Title, description or photos edited | Pushed to both, within Trendyol’s eight-image limit |
| Relisting on Etsy | Available: FLUF Connect can end and recreate stale Etsy listings on a strategy you set. Relisting, offer management and smart pricing come with the plans above Starter |
| Relisting on Trendyol | Not offered; Trendyol listings do not age out the way Etsy listings do |
| Offer management | Not available on Etsy or on Trendyol |
Until Trendyol sales are detected, treat the partner panel as the screen you check daily and mark each Trendyol sale sold in FLUF Connect the same day. For one-of-a-kind pieces this matters most: a hand-knotted rug sold in Ankara on Monday is still live on Etsy on Tuesday unless you mark it, and an Etsy buyer paying USD 400 for a rug you no longer have is a refund, a cancellation on your record and, repeated, a bad review.
The Etsy direction covers the common case for a seller new to Etsy: the Trendyol catalogue is larger, the Etsy listings are a subset, and the risk is an Etsy sale of something Trendyol has meanwhile sold too. That is the case FLUF Connect closes automatically.

What we could not verify, and therefore left out. The amount of Etsy’s shop set-up fee: Etsy confirms it exists and is non-refundable but publishes no figure, and the USD 15 to 29 range on third-party sites is not Etsy’s statement. Trendyol’s commission sheet sits behind a seller login; the percentages quoted are a public transcription and your agreement screen overrides them. Trendyol has no “handmade” rate, because it classifies craft goods by product category, not method of manufacture. The length of Etsy’s payment reserve for new shops in Türkiye is set per account. Carrier prices from Türkiye change monthly and are quoted per destination and desi, so none are given.

Frequently Asked Questions
Only the part you made, designed, handpicked as vintage or sourced as a craft supply. Etsy's help page states that “Reselling mass-produced items is not allowed on Etsy”, and Trendyol never asked you that question, so a Trendyol catalogue usually splits in two. Your own kilim cushions, hand-poured candles, needle lace or filigree qualify; factory homeware bought from a wholesaler does not. FLUF Connect lets you filter to the qualifying products and push only those, so the rest stay on Trendyol untouched.
Yes, under Etsy's “designed by a seller” category, as long as the design is your original work and you disclose the production partner in the listing. What is not allowed is buying a manufacturer's standard line and listing it as handmade. The distinction is whether the pattern, shape or artwork originated with you. If it did, name the mill in the listing and you are inside the rules.
Etsy Payments is available directly. Türkiye appears on Etsy's eligible-countries list without the asterisk that marks Payoneer-only countries, so you link a Turkish bank account and receive deposits into it. The Payoneer route applies to sixteen other countries, including the UAE, Egypt, India and Pakistan, and pays only in US dollars. PayPal does not operate in Türkiye, so it will not appear at your checkout, but Etsy Payments handles card, bank and wallet payments for you.
About 15% of an order before advertising: a 6.5% transaction fee on the order total including postage, a payment processing fee of 6.5% plus 14 TRY per order, a 1.67% regulatory operating fee, USD 0.20 per listing, and 2.5% whenever your listing currency is converted for deposit. On top sit Offsite Ads at 15% of any attributed order (12% once the shop passes USD 10,000 in a year, capped at USD 100 per order) and a one-time, non-refundable shop set-up fee whose amount Etsy shows you before the shop opens.
Turkish lira is a supported Etsy Payments currency, so you can price in TRY, but most of your buyers browse in USD, GBP or EUR and a lira price converted on the fly drifts week to week. The common choice for Turkish shops is to list in USD, accept the 2.5% conversion fee on deposits, and hold a steady sticker price. Decide once, because FLUF Connect pushes the price you hold for each product and your shop currency decides how Etsy displays it.
No. Etsy orders go under the micro-export regime, where an authorised express carrier files the Electronic Commerce Customs Declaration (ETGB) on your behalf. From 3 January 2026 the ceiling is 600 kg and EUR 30,000 per consignment, double the previous limits. You need an invoice per parcel, a GTIP tariff code and origin declaration per product, and a carrier such as PTT, DHL eCommerce, UPS or FedEx that operates under ETGB. If you already entered GTIP and origin data for Trendyol's cross-border storefronts, that work is done.
Not automatically yet. FLUF Connect does not currently detect Trendyol sales, so mark the product sold in FLUF Connect and the Etsy listing, and any other channel's, comes down. The other direction is automatic: an Etsy sale zeroes the Trendyol quantity and ends the product everywhere else it is listed. Until Trendyol detection ships, check your partner panel daily and mark sales the same day, especially for one-of-a-kind pieces.
Because the barcode is how Trendyol identifies each product and variant, and FLUF Connect reads your catalogue the same way. A product with no barcode, or a placeholder shared by several variants, has no stable identity to carry to Etsy or to sync against when stock changes. Add a unique barcode to each product in the Trendyol partner panel before you import; the products without one are the ones that will not cross cleanly.
The trial, then plans from £9 a month, and paying yearly saves 40%. Crosslisting, inventory sync, order sync and bulk operations are on every plan, with no cap on listings. Relisting, offer management and smart pricing come with the plans above Starter; on this route relisting applies to Etsy only, and neither channel has offer management. One subscription covers all 50+ marketplaces FLUF Connect supports, so the same filtered catalogue can go further than Etsy.
