Check your categories before you connect anything. FLUF supports Whatnot and UK TikTok Shop sellers only, so if your TikTok Shop account is registered outside the UK, this pairing will not work for you.
Even for a UK account, TikTok Shop’s Restricted Products Policy blocks second-hand, used and open-box goods by default. A seller has to be approved into a specific second-hand category before listing anything pre-owned. That rules out most of a typical Whatnot catalogue: worn sneakers and general vintage clothing sit outside the approved list. Trading cards and collectibles are the exception here. The trading cards policy splits second-hand cards into two tiers: ungraded, raw singles, which any approved seller can list, and graded singles, which need separate invite-only approval. A card or collectibles seller has a real route onto this destination. A sneaker or vintage clothing seller mostly does not, short of listing new stock still in its original packaging.
How buyers find your stock on each channel
Whatnot is built around live shows. Sellers host a stream, present items one at a time, and buyers bid or buy as the show runs. FLUF lists your items on Whatnot; how you run the show itself is up to you.
TikTok Shop UK mixes several routes to the same purchase. TikTok’s own seller pages describe discovery starting from the Shop tab, a shoppable video, a LIVE session, search, or a recommendation feed, rather than a single format. A listing with no video or LIVE behind it still shows in the Shop tab and search, but it will not get the reach a video or LIVE gives it.
The two channels reward different effort. Whatnot rewards a good show, presented live to people already watching. TikTok Shop rewards a mix of listing quality and content, whether that content is your own video or a creator’s, spread across search, the Shop tab and LIVE.
Fees on each side, with a worked example
Whatnot’s UK fee schedule charges a 6.67% commission plus VAT, calculated on the item price only, not the shipping the buyer pays. On top of that sits a payment processing fee of 2.42% of the total order value (including shipping) plus £0.25, plus VAT.
TikTok Shop UK works differently. Its Commission Rate Policy sets a single commission of 9% before any incentive reductions, and that 9% is charged on the item price plus the shipping fee the buyer pays.
Take a card lot that sells for £50 with £5 postage on both channels. On Whatnot, the commission is 6.67% of £50 (£3.34), plus VAT, for about £4.00. The payment processing fee is 2.42% of £55 plus £0.25 (£1.58), plus VAT, for about £1.90. Total fees come to roughly £5.90. On TikTok Shop UK, the commission is 9% of £55, or £4.95, with no separate processing fee to add. The exact totals move with VAT treatment and any live promotion, so check both fee pages before you price a batch.
How to crosslist from Whatnot to TikTok Shop with FLUF Connect

Listing labels TikTok Shop checks for second-hand cards
TikTok Shop’s trading cards policy sets specific rules for the categories a Whatnot card seller is most likely to use. For ungraded, raw singles, the title and description must say “Second-hand” or “pre-owned”, state how many cards are in the listing, and describe the condition, such as mint or signs of use. Listings need at least two images showing the whole card. Graded singles follow the same labelling rules, and TikTok Shop only accepts named grading companies, including PSA, BGS and CGC. Review these against what FLUF has copied across before you publish, since FLUF does not add this labelling for you.
Other collectibles beyond cards
Cards are not the only collectible with an approved second-hand route. TikTok Shop’s Restricted Products Policy also names graded comic books, luxury watches and jewellery as approved second-hand categories, each with its own condition and image rules.
