Key Takeaways

  • There is no amazon.pt. A Portuguese seller who wants Amazon reach sells on amazon.es and ships across the border.
  • Vinted has run a Portuguese site since 2021 and Wallapop since 2022. Both are live channels in FLUF Connect, and both are where most Portuguese resale volume sits.
  • Portugal’s IVA registration threshold is €15,000 a year, and the old allowance for a single untaxed transaction was withdrawn in 2025.
  • The marketplaces with the most Portuguese traffic, OLX and CustoJusto, are classifieds FLUF does not drive. Plan around that rather than assuming full coverage.
  • You can try it with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.

Who this is for

You live in Portugal, you have stock, and you want to know which marketplaces will actually take you and your parcels. This is that list. It is written for a seller with a Portuguese address and a Portuguese bank account, selling mostly to buyers in Portugal, Spain and the rest of the EU.

Portugal is well served by the pan-European resale platforms and thinly served by its own. The domestic sites with the deepest traffic are classifieds rather than marketplaces, which changes what crosslisting can do for you here.

The amazon.pt that does not exist

Portugal has no Amazon domain of its own. Amazon serves the country through amazon.es, with Spanish warehousing and delivery into Portugal, so a Portuguese seller who wants Amazon volume registers as a seller on the Spanish site. Everything downstream of that follows: Spanish-language listings, Spanish returns addresses, and buyers who mostly are not Portuguese.

That single fact reshapes the channel mix here compared with most EU countries. Where a German or Italian seller anchors on a domestic Amazon and adds resale platforms around it, a Portuguese seller usually does the reverse, anchoring on Vinted and treating Amazon as a cross-border extension. eBay works the same way: no ebay.pt, so you list on an international site and ship out.

What you can connect from Portugal

Four of the channels FLUF Connect drives run a Portuguese storefront: Vinted, Wallapop, Temu and La Redoute. The rest of the roster is international, so a Portuguese account works without a local site existing. That includes Depop, eBay, Etsy, Vestiaire Collective, Grailed, Shopify and WooCommerce, among the 53 channels FLUF drives in total.

Channel Portuguese site Sale detected automatically
Vinted vinted.pt Yes
Wallapop Yes, since 2022 Yes
Temu Yes Yes
La Redoute Yes Yes
eBay No, international only Yes
Amazon No, via amazon.es Yes
Vestiaire Collective International Yes
Grailed International No, you mark it sold

Wherever the sale is detected, FLUF ends the listing on every other channel it is on. Where it is not, marking the item sold in FLUF does the same job manually.

Vinted is the default, and its couriers are the reason

Vinted opened in Portugal in June 2021 with the same model it runs everywhere: listing is free, the seller keeps the sale price, and the buyer pays a Buyer Protection charge on top. In Portugal that is a percentage of the item plus a fixed amount, which means the platform’s cut never lands on your side of the ledger.

What makes it work here is delivery. Vinted’s Portuguese shipping runs through pickup-point networks rather than doorstep collection, with Mondial Relay’s InPost partnership and DPD carrying most volume. For a seller that means walking parcels to a point rather than waiting in for a courier, and it means the practical ceiling on how many items you can post in a day is a physical one.

Wallapop arrived a year later and grew fast, reporting a 130% rise in transactions in its second Portuguese year. It splits into two modes, local hand-to-hand sales where nobody takes a cut, and shipped sales through Wallapop Envios where the platform does. Crosslisting only makes sense for the shipped half.

The Portuguese sites FLUF does not drive

OLX Portugal and CustoJusto are the country’s biggest second-hand destinations, and neither is a FLUF channel. Both are classifieds in the older sense: free to list, no checkout, no protected payment, and a conversation that moves to phone or messaging. There is nothing for a crosslisting tool to synchronise, because there is no order to detect and no stock level to hold.

Worten and Fnac.pt run curated retail marketplaces with an application process and a monthly seller fee, aimed at traders with new stock rather than resellers. KuantoKusta sits somewhere between a price comparison site and a marketplace. If your business depends on those, plan to run them by hand alongside whatever you crosslist.

The gap is worth naming plainly because the Spanish picture is different. Spain has Wallapop as a genuine domestic giant and Milanuncios underneath it. Portugal’s equivalent layer is the one FLUF cannot reach, so a Portuguese seller gets more of their coverage from international platforms than a Spanish seller does.

What actually moves from a Portuguese account

Portugal’s second-hand retail sector was measured at around €169 million in 2025, growing faster than general retail but small beside the Spanish market next door. That size has a consequence: for anything beyond everyday clothing, your buyer is more likely to be outside Portugal than inside it.

Everyday womenswear, childrenswear and high-street brands sell domestically on Vinted at Portuguese prices, and the whole transaction stays inside the country. Designer and branded pieces behave differently. The domestic pool of buyers willing to pay several hundred euros is thin, so those items realise their price on Vestiaire Collective, Grailed or eBay, where the buyer could be anywhere in the EU and the parcel is an export.

Electronics, collectables and general household goods are the awkward middle. They sell well on the Portuguese classifieds that FLUF cannot drive, and less well on the fashion-led platforms it can. If that is most of your stock, the realistic plan is Wallapop and Temu through FLUF, with OLX run by hand.

Posting parcels out of Portugal

CTT carries the largest share of domestic parcels and is where anything going to a residential address usually ends up. DPD and GLS cover domestic and intra-EU with tracked services, and MRW specialises in the Iberian corridor, which matters more here than almost anywhere because Spain is both your nearest export market and your route to Amazon.

Two practical notes. First, any platform that issues its own label decides your carrier for you, so your CTT account is for the channels that do not. Second, if you are on Madeira or in the Azores, quote your delivery times from your own experience rather than a mainland default; buyers who get a surprise on delivery leave the feedback that follows you around.

IVA, abrir atividade, and what changed in 2025

Portugal’s standard IVA rate is 23%, with reduced bands at 13% and 6%. The registration threshold sits at €15,000 of annual turnover, below which you can operate under the exemption regime.

The change that catches casual sellers is the withdrawal of the old one-off transaction allowance in July 2025. It used to be possible to make a single isolated sale of significant value without opening an activity; that route closed. If you are trading regularly rather than clearing a wardrobe, the expected step is to open an activity through the Portal das Finanças, which is free and usually same-day once you have a NIF.

Separately, the EU reporting rules oblige the platforms themselves to report seller earnings to tax authorities once you pass modest thresholds, and the Autoridade Tributária receives that data. Your own return should agree with what the platforms filed. A Portuguese accountant is worth an hour of your time here; the rules on second-hand goods have their own regime and it was amended in 2025.
