Crosslist from Depop to TikTok Shop — What UK Pre-Loved Sellers Need to Know First

Move your Depop listings onto TikTok Shop UK. Second-hand fashion is application-gated and capped at £500 per listing — here is the eligibility test, the field mapping, and exactly what syncs back.

Key Takeaways — Depop to TikTok Shop Crosslisting

  • Check your approval before anything else. TikTok Shop UK permits second-hand fashion only for sellers onboarded through its category application process. Without that approval, a pre-loved listing has nowhere to land.
  • There is a hard price ceiling. TikTok Shop’s own policy states second-hand fashion products “must not exceed the value of £500 per listing” — so the top of a Depop archive rail simply cannot transfer.
  • The fee direction reverses. Depop charges UK sellers no selling fee; TikTok Shop takes 9% commission inclusive of VAT. The same jumper nets you materially less on TikTok Shop.
  • Titles must be rewritten, not copied. TikTok Shop requires the words “second-hand”, “pre-owned” or “pre-loved” in the title of every used fashion listing.
  • Sync runs one way only. Sold on Depop → TikTok Shop stock drops automatically. Sold on TikTok Shop → nothing happens elsewhere yet. Plan around it.
  • Cost: from £9/month. There is no free plan, but every new account gets a 7-day free trial.

First: are you actually allowed to list this?

Almost every guide to this pair skips the only question that decides whether the rest of it matters. TikTok Shop UK does not treat used clothing the way Depop does. Depop is a second-hand marketplace; TikTok Shop is a general retail marketplace that permits second-hand goods under a specific, restrictive policy.

The controlling document is TikTok Shop UK’s Restricted Products Policy, section 4.3, which states plainly that “all second-hand products can only be sold if a seller has been onboarded via a limited, ‘invite-only’ process.” In practice that phrase is slightly misleading — you are not waiting to be approached. You apply yourself, through Seller Center → My Account → Account Settings → Qualification Center → “Add category Authorization”, submit documentation, and wait for review. Sellers report the review taking considerably longer than the stated seven days.

Once approved, four further constraints apply specifically to second-hand fashion, and each one bites on a typical Depop catalogue:

Rule What TikTok Shop UK requires What it means for a Depop listing
Price ceiling Second-hand fashion “must not exceed the value of £500 per listing” Archive, grail and designer pieces above £500 have no destination. This is the single hardest limit.
Title wording Titles must “accurately reflect this and include ‘Second-hand’, ‘pre-owned’ or ‘pre-loved'” A copied Depop title fails. The title must be rewritten, not transferred.
Photography Minimum two images: at least one of the garment, and at least one “showing the scratches, stretch marks or imperfections” A flaw photo is mandatory. Depop sellers who shoot styled flat-lays only will need to add one.
Bundles “All second-hand products are prohibited from being sold as a mystery or surprise-based product listing” Mystery bundles — a Depop staple — are banned outright.

There are also category-level carve-outs worth knowing if your Depop shop is not purely clothing. Ungraded collectable trading cards are the one second-hand category that needs no application. Graded trading cards are gated and capped at £1,000 per listing. Refurbished phones, tablets and laptops, graded comic books and refurbished household appliances are all gated. Second-hand books, golf clubs and luxury watches appear in the policy without a stated application requirement.

One more scoping fact that has nothing to do with TikTok Shop’s own policy and everything to do with ours: FLUF Connect can only connect UK TikTok Shop accounts. TikTok Shop itself runs around twenty seller markets, but our Partner Center application is approved for the United Kingdom and nothing else, so a seller outside the UK cannot complete the authorisation. If your Depop shop is US or Australian, this pair is not open to you yet.

Why crosslist from Depop to TikTok Shop?

Two genuinely different buying motions

Depop is a search-and-browse marketplace with a shopping-intent audience: someone arrives looking for a Carhartt jacket and filters until they find one. TikTok Shop is discovery-led — the product finds the buyer mid-scroll. Neither replaces the other, which is precisely the argument for running both.

The scale is real and it is growing fast. TikTok reported passing 300,000 UK small-business sellers in July 2026, with new sellers joining at roughly triple the previous year’s rate, and LIVE shopping sales up 55% year on year. Depop, meanwhile, reported 7 million active buyers and more than 3 million active sellers as of the end of 2025, with roughly $1 billion in annual GMV.

The UK buyer on TikTok Shop spends more than you would guess

The stereotype is that TikTok Shop is where cheap impulse goods go. UK data contradicts it: 41% of UK TikTok Shop revenue comes from items over £100 — against a global average of 2.8%. The UK is an outlier market where higher-value purchases actually convert. For a Depop seller sitting on £100–£500 branded pieces, that band is squarely inside both TikTok Shop’s price ceiling and its strongest-converting range.

An honest counterweight

Not every category performs. A UK operator managing multiple TikTok Shops put it bluntly on r/AskUK in June 2026:

“I manage a couple of Tiktok shops as part of my role. One does really well selling American Candy, circa 150k p/a in their first year 2025. Another does terribly selling fashion stuff. I think its about purchase intent and pricing, people brain rotting on tiktok are more likely to drop £10 on a bag of sweets than £200 on a pair of shoes.”

— r/AskUK, June 2026

Read that as a warning about effort, not about the channel. TikTok Shop rewards content. A listing with no video attached to it is a shop window on a quiet street.

Nobody else crosslists here

This is the unusual part. Every major resale crosslisting tool — Vendoo, List Perfectly, Crosslist and Zipsale — publishes a marketplace list, and TikTok Shop appears on none of them. The split is structural rather than accidental: TikTok Shop is an approval-gated API channel, so browser-extension-based resale tools cannot reach it at all. The tools that do connect are enterprise feed platforms priced for multichannel retailers, not resellers.

What it costs you — the fee reversal

Most crosslisting pages assume the destination is cheaper or comparable. Here it is not, and pretending otherwise would cost you money on every sale.

Depop (UK seller) TikTok Shop (UK seller)
Selling / commission fee 0% since 20 March 2024 9%, inclusive of applicable taxes including VAT
Payment processing 2.9% + £0.30 No separate processing fee documented
Shipping-related fee Evri label bought by seller or buyer £0.50 per delivered order when you ship yourself, since 15 July 2025
Charged to the buyer Marketplace fee, up to 5% + up to £1 Included in the displayed price
Optional promotion Boosted Listings 12% in the UK since 23 March 2026 Affiliate commission, seller-set

On a £50 jumper the arithmetic is roughly £1.75 to Depop against £4.50 plus £0.50 to TikTok Shop — about £3.25 more per sale. That is a fair price for reaching a different audience, but you should price with your eyes open rather than transfer a Depop price unchanged.

Two numbers circulate widely and are wrong. There is no separate “1.4% + £0.20” TikTok Shop payment-processing fee — that is generic UK card-acquiring pricing, and TikTok’s own fee documentation lists commission, shipping fees, affiliate commission and adjustments only. And the “1.8% for 90 days” new-seller rate quoted across the SEO blogs has no primary source; TikTok’s UK policy confirms a reduced new-seller rate exists but does not publish the figure.

How to crosslist from Depop to TikTok Shop with FLUF Connect

  1. Get your second-hand category approval first. Nothing below works without it. Apply in TikTok Seller Center’s Qualification Center and wait for the decision.
  2. Sign in to FLUF Connect and open the Channels page.
  3. Connect Depop. Standard authorisation — your catalogue imports and every action afterwards runs server-side.
  4. Connect TikTok Shop. This is an OAuth connection, not a browser-extension one: you authorise FLUF Connect in TikTok’s own consent screen and the connection persists. Nothing needs to stay open on your computer.
  5. Filter your catalogue to what is eligible. Under £500, at least two photos including a flaw shot, not a bundle.
  6. Review the title rewrite. The pre-loved wording is mandatory and this is where it gets added.
  7. Publish. TikTok Shop resolves the category from the title through its own recommendation endpoint, then falls back to FLUF’s category mapping.

Behind the scenes, category resolution is the part that most often needs a human eye. TikTok’s own category recommender is asked first, using the title alone — deliberately, because feeding it the full seller description reliably degrades the result and can return “no matching categories” for an item that resolves cleanly from its title. If TikTok cannot place the item, FLUF does not guess: the listing is reported as a failure rather than published into the wrong branch of the tree.

What transfers — field and category mapping

Depop field TikTok Shop field Transfer status Notes
Title / description Product name Rewritten, not copied Must contain “second-hand”, “pre-owned” or “pre-loved”. TikTok’s guidance elsewhere sets a 25–255 character range and bans marketing copy, clickbait, and references to other platforms.
Description Description Automatic TikTok Shop UK requires at least 30 words. The API accepts up to 10,000 characters, so Depop descriptions never truncate.
Photos (up to 4) Images (up to 9) Automatic TikTok Shop gives you more room. Minimum 800×800px, square, colour only — black-and-white images are rejected. Five or more images is the threshold for the “Good” listing-quality tier.
Flaw photo Manual Mandatory for second-hand fashion and has no Depop equivalent. Add it to the product before crosslisting.
Price Price Automatic, with a ceiling Anything over £500 is ineligible. Consider adjusting for the 9% commission.
Brand Brand Smart mapped TikTok Shop resolves brands against its own controlled list; unmatched names fall back rather than failing the listing.
Category Leaf category id Smart mapped Resolved from the title first, then from FLUF’s cached source-to-destination mapping. Never guessed.
Size / colour / material Category attributes Smart mapped Which attributes are mandatory depends on the leaf category. Fashion categories generally require size, colour and a size chart.
Condition Condition Smart mapped TikTok Shop expects Good, Very Good or Excellent for second-hand fashion.
Video Product video Not transferred TikTok Shop accepts one video per listing, up to 5MB. It is optional — but on this channel it is the whole point. Add it natively.

The category tree deserves a note of its own, because it is mirrored per region rather than globally. TikTok’s UK tree and its US tree are different shapes — different category versions, different depths, different mandatory attributes — so a category id is only meaningful alongside its region. That is invisible to you as a seller, but it is why a UK listing cannot be built from a US category mapping.

What syncs, and the one direction that does not

This is the section to read twice, because the asymmetry is real and we would rather tell you than have you discover it.

Event What happens
Item sells on Depop TikTok Shop stock is dropped automatically. This direction works.
Item sells on TikTok Shop Nothing happens elsewhere. Order sync is not implemented for TikTok Shop yet, so the sale is not detected and your Depop listing stays live.
You edit the price in FLUF Pushed to TikTok Shop.
You edit stock in FLUF Pushed to TikTok Shop.
You delete in FLUF Removed from TikTok Shop.

We could have claimed order sync and quietly hoped. We have not, because a channel registry that lies makes every downstream decision wrong. Until TikTok Shop’s order feed is implemented against a real order body, the honest description is: sold elsewhere drops your TikTok Shop stock; sold on TikTok Shop does not yet drop anything.

Practically, that means one habit. When a TikTok Shop order comes in, mark the item sold in FLUF Connect and the fan-out to Depop and every other channel happens from there. It is one extra tap, and it closes the loop until the order feed lands.

Before and after — the real workflow

Manually

  1. Open TikTok Seller Center, start a new product
  2. Retype the title with the mandatory pre-loved wording
  3. Re-upload photos, cropped square to at least 800×800
  4. Shoot and add the flaw photo
  5. Find the leaf category by hand in a tree several levels deep
  6. Fill the category’s mandatory attributes and size chart
  7. Re-enter price and stock, then publish
  8. Watch both channels, and delist by hand the moment either sells

Sellers doing this across several platforms describe multi-hour listing sessions for twenty items — and that is before anything sells and the delisting scramble starts.

With FLUF Connect

  1. Filter your catalogue to items under £500 with a flaw photo
  2. Choose TikTok Shop
  3. Confirm the rewritten title and the inferred category
  4. Publish

Roughly half a minute per item once the defaults are set, and the Depop-side delist handles itself.

Sources and verification

Verified in August 2026. TikTok Shop does not publish a UK GMV figure or a UK active-buyer count, so none is quoted here. The reduced new-seller commission rate exists in policy but its UK value and duration are not published, so no figure is given. Fee arithmetic is illustrative and excludes promotion. Tax and eligibility information is general guidance, not advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, but only after approval. TikTok Shop UK's Restricted Products Policy states that all second-hand products can only be sold once a seller has been onboarded through a limited application process. You apply yourself in Seller Center under Qualification Center → Add category Authorization, submit documentation and wait for review. Until that approval lands, a pre-loved listing has nowhere to go, so it is the first thing to sort out.

Yes, and it is strict. TikTok Shop's policy states that second-hand fashion products must not exceed the value of £500 per listing. That is a hard ceiling, so archive and designer pieces priced above it cannot be crosslisted from Depop at all. Graded collectable trading cards sit under a separate £1,000 cap.

Yes. TikTok Shop requires the title of every used fashion listing to include the words “second-hand”, “pre-owned” or “pre-loved”. A title copied straight across from Depop will not comply, so FLUF Connect rewrites it at crosslist time rather than transferring it unchanged.

Not automatically, not yet. Order sync is not implemented for TikTok Shop, so a sale on TikTok Shop is not detected and will not stock out your Depop listing. The reverse direction does work: when an item sells on Depop, its TikTok Shop stock is dropped automatically. Until the order feed is built, mark TikTok Shop sales as sold in FLUF Connect and the fan-out to every other channel runs from there.

For a UK seller, yes. Depop charges no selling fee in the UK and takes 2.9% plus £0.30 in payment processing. TikTok Shop takes 9% commission inclusive of applicable taxes, plus £0.50 per delivered order if you ship yourself, and has no separate payment-processing fee. On a £50 item that is roughly £3.25 more per sale, so it is worth pricing deliberately rather than transferring a Depop price unchanged.

A video is not required to publish a listing — TikTok Shop accepts one optional video per product, up to 5MB. In practice video is how the channel actually sells, because discovery is content-led rather than search-led. Videos are not transferred from Depop; add them natively on TikTok Shop.

Not currently. FLUF Connect's TikTok Shop application is approved for the United Kingdom only, so a seller outside the UK cannot complete the authorisation. TikTok Shop itself operates in around twenty seller markets, and we will extend the list as each additional market is approved.

None of the resale-focused ones do. Vendoo, List Perfectly, Crosslist and Zipsale all publish their supported marketplace lists and TikTok Shop appears on none of them. The reason is structural: TikTok Shop is an approval-gated API channel, so browser-extension tools cannot reach it. The platforms that do connect are enterprise retail feed tools rather than reseller software.

No. TikTok Shop's policy states that all second-hand products are prohibited from being sold as a mystery or surprise-based product listing. Bundles that are fully described, with every included item listed and photographed, are a different matter — but the surprise format itself is not permitted.

Up to nine images are allowed, at a minimum of 800×800 pixels, square, and in colour — black-and-white images are rejected. For second-hand fashion specifically the floor is two: at least one of the garment and at least one showing the scratches, stretch marks or imperfections. That flaw photo has no Depop equivalent, so add it to the product before crosslisting.
