Selling on Vinted as a business
Vinted describes Vinted Pro as a service for members who want to sell high volumes of second-hand items as part of their professional activity. To join you must be registered as a business, for example as a sole trader, and sell only from the categories Vinted allows for Pro sellers. You can convert your existing account or open a separate one for the business.
Vinted Pro is available to sellers registered in France, Italy, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Ireland, Germany and Austria. If your business is registered elsewhere, check whether Vinted has opened Pro in your country before you plan around it.
Some categories open to private sellers are closed to Pro sellers. Vinted’s catalogue rules list new cosmetics, beauty and care products among the items Pro sellers cannot list.
What it costs and who pays
Vinted’s UK price list charges the buyer, not the seller, for Buyer Protection. The fee “typically includes a percentage of the item’s or bundle’s price, as well as a fixed fee”, usually 3% to 8% plus £0.30 to £0.80, and it is shown in the price breakdown on every listing. Paid visibility, such as bumping an item, is optional and charged to the seller.
That changes how you price. A £45 pair of vintage Levi’s listed at £45 on Vinted reaches you as £45, while the buyer sees a higher total once the protection fee and postage are added. On your OpenCart store you pay your card processor’s fee and charge your own postage. Many vintage sellers keep the same ticket price on both and let the buyer compare totals.
Returns and shipping rules for Pro sellers
Buying from a Pro seller gives the buyer a legal right of withdrawal: 14 days from receiving the order to decide to return it, then another 14 days to send it back. Build that into your returns process, as you already do for distance sales from your own site.
On shipping, Vinted’s selling guide gives you 5 business days to send an order once it arrives, or it is cancelled automatically. The buyer pays for postage and chooses the carrier from the ones you enable, and you receive a prepaid label.
Setting it up
- Set up Vinted Pro on your Vinted account.
- In OpenCart, install the FLUF Connect extension from the OpenCart Marketplace and enable it under Extensions, then Modules.
- In FLUF Connect, open Channels and connect your OpenCart store, then connect Vinted with the FLUF browser extension or the FLUF mobile app.
- Choose the pieces that fit Vinted’s categories, add the size, brand and condition Vinted asks for, and list.
