How to Sell on Wallapop — The Complete Guide for 2026
19 million users across Spain, Italy, Portugal — plus free local classifieds in the UK and France. Everything you need to know about Wallapop fees, listings, shipping, the algorithm, and crosslisting from one dashboard.
Key Takeaways
- 19 million monthly users across Spain, Italy, and Portugal — Wallapop is the biggest second-hand app in the Iberian Peninsula and is now backed entirely by Korean tech giant Naver after a €600 million acquisition in August 2025.
- Two completely different selling modes by country. In Spain, Italy, and Portugal Wallapop is a full marketplace with prepaid shipping, buyer protection, and Wallapop Pro subscriptions. In the UK and France it operates as free local classifieds — list items, chat with buyers, transactions happen offline.
- 0% seller commission on local “solo en mano” pickup sales. When buyers collect in person, you keep 100% of the price. When buyers use Wallapop Envíos (Spain/Italy/Portugal only), the platform deducts handling fees from the seller payout.
- Free to list, on every plan. No listing fees, no monthly subscription required for individual sellers. Wallapop Pro (€39–€229/month) is optional and currently Spain-only.
- DAC7 reporting kicks in at 30 transactions or €2,000 per year across the EU — Wallapop will report your sales data to your local tax authority once you cross either threshold.
- Cross-list with FLUF Connect — sync your Wallapop catalogue with Vinted, Depop, eBay, Shopify and six other marketplaces from one dashboard. Get started in minutes.

What Is Wallapop?
Wallapop is a peer-to-peer second-hand marketplace headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. It launched in 2013 as a hyperlocal classifieds app and has grown into the dominant consumer-to-consumer platform in Iberia and Italy, with around 19 million users visiting every month across its three core markets and roughly 100 million listings posted each year. In August 2025, South Korean internet group Naver took its stake from 29.5% to 100% in a deal that valued the company at €600 million. Wallapop joins the line-up of marketplaces FLUF Connect supports across all major resale channels.
Founded by Agustín Gómez, Miguel Vicente, and Gerard Olivé, Wallapop was built around the idea that most second-hand transactions happen between neighbours — buyers and sellers who live a few kilometres apart, meet up, and exchange cash for an item. That hyperlocal DNA still defines the product. Items are ranked partly by physical distance from the buyer, search results within a 5-kilometre radius can look completely different from results 30 kilometres away, and “solo en mano” (in-person only) listings remain a major share of total inventory.
Where Wallapop differs from Vinted, Depop, and eBay is breadth: this is not a fashion-first platform. The biggest categories are motors (cars and motorbikes), real estate, technology and electronics, fashion, baby and kids, sports, and home and garden. A single Wallapop seller might list a vintage Levi’s jacket, a used PlayStation 5, a flat for rent, and a 2014 Vespa side-by-side — and all of it is normal.
For resellers based in or selling to Spain, Italy, or Portugal, Wallapop is one of the most important channels in the region. For resellers in the UK or France, Wallapop is a complementary local-pickup channel — useful for items too bulky or too low-value to ship, but operating on a different model from the full marketplace.

Why Sell on Wallapop in 2026?
Wallapop’s draw is reach inside Iberia and Italy that no other second-hand marketplace can match. If your audience overlaps with Spain, Italy, or Portugal, this is the single biggest C2C channel in the region — and the marginal cost of adding Wallapop alongside Vinted, Depop, or eBay is close to zero, because Wallapop charges no listing fees and no monthly subscription for individual sellers.
Iberian and Italian Reach No Other C2C App Has
Wallapop captures roughly 82.8% of second-hand app penetration in Spain and is the most-visited classified ads platform in the country. Italy has been live since 2021 and Portugal since September 2022. None of the global comparators — Vinted, Depop, eBay, Facebook Marketplace — has the same combination of category breadth and local liquidity in these three markets. Sellers who ignore Wallapop are leaving 19 million pairs of eyes on the table.
Free to List, with No Subscription Lock-In
Individual sellers pay nothing to list. There is no insertion fee, no listing tier, no minimum activity requirement. Wallapop Pro is an optional subscription for high-volume sellers in Spain — and even there, the lowest tier sits at €39/month and the highest at €229/month, which is competitive with eBay business-store fees but with a much larger free baseline.
Beyond Fashion — Cars, Tech, Real Estate, Everything
Most second-hand C2C marketplaces specialise. Vinted is fashion-first. Depop is curated streetwear. eBay is everything but skews toward collectables and tech. Wallapop is genuinely everything — and its strongest non-fashion category is technology, where second-hand iPhones, PlayStations, and laptops move quickly. If you sell electronics, homeware, sports equipment, or anything bulky that does not ship economically through Vinted’s prepaid-label system, Wallapop is the better channel.
Local-First Selling for Bulky Items
Wallapop’s “solo en mano” model — in-person pickup, no shipping, cash or local bank transfer — solves the problem most marketplaces cannot. Selling a sofa, a fridge, an exercise bike, or a baby cot through Vinted or Depop is logistically painful. On Wallapop, it is the default flow. Buyers expect to come and collect.
0% Seller Commission on Local Sales
When a buyer collects in person, Wallapop takes nothing from the seller. The platform’s revenue model in those cases is purely buyer-side — the buyer pays no protection fee on local pickup either. This is genuinely free C2C selling, the kind of model that has all but disappeared from the rest of the market.
Naver Backing and Renewed Investment
Naver’s full acquisition in August 2025 means Wallapop is no longer scraping for venture funding — it is part of one of Asia’s biggest internet conglomerates, with a stated focus on “internationalisation and growing the circular economy business in Southern Europe.” For sellers, that translates into more product investment, faster shipping integrations, and a more stable platform than the previous decade of rolling fundraises.

How Much Does It Cost to Sell on Wallapop? — Fees Explained
Wallapop has the cleanest individual-seller fee structure in the market: zero listing fees, zero monthly subscription, and zero commission on local pickup sales. Costs only appear when you opt in to Wallapop Envíos (the shipping service) or one of the optional paid features — and even those are deducted in transparent ways. The complication is country: the full marketplace operates in Spain, Italy, and Portugal, and a separate, simpler classifieds-only mode operates in the UK and France.

Listing Fees — Free for Individuals
There is no fee to list an item on Wallapop, regardless of country, category, or price band. You can list as many items as you want without paying anything up front. This is true for individual sellers everywhere Wallapop operates. Professional sellers in Spain may opt into a Wallapop Pro subscription for higher allowances and additional analytics — but the underlying listing itself remains free.
Local Pickup Sales — 0% Seller Commission
When a buyer agrees to collect an item in person (“solo en mano“), Wallapop takes no commission from the seller. The transaction happens off-platform — buyer and seller meet, exchange cash or arrange a bank transfer, and the listing is closed. No protection fee is charged either. The downside is that there is no buyer protection or escrow — if the buyer never shows up, or pays in cash and disputes the item later, you have no platform recourse. This is the trade-off for zero fees.
Wallapop Envíos — Around 10% Handling on Shipped Sales (Spain, Italy, Portugal)
When a buyer chooses Wallapop’s prepaid shipping option, the platform deducts a handling fee from the seller’s payout. The exact percentage varies by category and item value, but for most everyday goods sellers see roughly 10% taken before the funds reach their Wallapop Wallet. Buyers separately pay the shipping label cost (paid by the buyer, not the seller) and a Wallapop Protection fee on top of the item price.
Wallapop Envíos is only available within Spain, Italy, and Portugal — including cross-border shipments between those three countries. It is not available in the UK or France, where listings are local-pickup only.
Wallapop Protection (Buyer Pays — but It Affects Your Pricing)
Wallapop Protection is the platform’s escrow and dispute system. The buyer pays the protection fee on top of the item price — it is not deducted from the seller’s earnings — but because the buyer sees the protection fee at checkout, your competitiveness on price is affected by it. The fee is charged on a stepped scale, per AndroidGuias’ detailed shipping rate breakdown:
| Item price | Wallapop Protection fee (paid by buyer) |
|---|---|
| €1.00 – €13.00 | Flat €1.69 |
| €13.01 – €657.00 | €0.69 + 7.5% of item price |
| €657.01 – €2,500.00 | Flat €50.00 |
The maximum insured value covered by Wallapop Protection is €2,500. Listings above that price still sell on the platform, but Protection does not cover the full value.
Shipping Label Costs (Paid by Buyer)
Wallapop Envíos uses Correos, SEUR, GLS, InPost, and the “Method” service for bulky items. Buyers see the shipping cost at checkout — sellers do not pay it. Mainland Spain rates per AndroidGuias (current at the time of their guide):
| Weight | Home delivery | Pickup point (Correos / GLS) |
|---|---|---|
| 0–2 kg | €3.49 | €2.39 – €2.99 |
| 2–5 kg | €3.49 – €4.49 | ~€3.50 |
| 5–10 kg | €5.49 – €7.49 | ~€5.50 |
| 10–20 kg | €9.49 – €11.49 | — |
| 20–30 kg | €14.49 – €16.49 | — |
Shipments to the Balearic Islands range from €5.50 to €42.95 depending on weight. International shipments between Spain, Italy, and Portugal are supported through Wallapop Envíos but excluded from certain regions (Ceuta, Melilla, Canary Islands, San Marino, the Vatican, Campione d’Italia, Livigno, Trepalle).
Wallapop Pro Subscription Tiers (Spain Only)
Pro is aimed at professional sellers who run Wallapop as part of a registered business. It includes higher product allowances, performance analytics, a verified Pro badge, and access to additional visibility features. As reported by OleoShop’s Wallapop Pro pricing breakdown (VAT 21% included):
| Tier | Product limit | Monthly price (incl. 21% VAT) |
|---|---|---|
| Pro 200 | 200 products | €39 |
| Pro 400 | 400 products | €59 |
| Pro 800 | 800 products | €99 |
| Pro 1200 | 1,200 products | €159 |
| Pro 2000 | 2,000 products | €229 |
Pro is currently only available in Spain. Italy, Portugal, UK, and France individual or business sellers cannot subscribe to Pro tiers regardless of volume.
Visibility Services — Bumps and Spotlight
Optional paid promotion: a “Bump Up” pushes a single listing to the top of search results for a defined period; “Spotlight” gives a listing a featured slot in the discovery feed. Bumps typically start at a few euros, and Wallapop Club loyalty points (earned at 5 points per €1 spent on visibility) can be exchanged for discounts — 400 points = 10% off, 2,100 points = 100% off a visibility purchase. Visibility services are excluded for cars, motorbikes, jobs, services, and real estate categories.
Worked Example — €30 Sale via Wallapop Envíos in Spain
- Item price (set by seller): €30.00
- Wallapop Envíos handling fee (~10% deducted from seller payout): –€3.00
- Buyer pays separately: €30 item + €3.49 shipping + €2.94 Wallapop Protection (€0.69 + 7.5%) = ~€36.43 total at checkout
- Seller receives: ~€27.00
- Effective cost to seller: ~10%
Worked Example — €30 Local Pickup Sale
- Item price (set by seller): €30.00
- Wallapop seller commission: €0.00
- Buyer pays seller in cash or local bank transfer: €30.00
- Seller receives: €30.00

UK and France — Free Classifieds, No Platform Fees
Wallapop in the UK and France runs as free local classified ads. There are no listing fees, no commission on sales, no buyer protection mechanism, and no Wallapop Envíos shipping integration. Buyers and sellers connect through the in-app chat and arrange the transaction privately — usually a local pickup with cash on collection. The UK homepage’s own tagline summarises it: “Wallapop, local, free classified ads from all over UK.” For sellers, this means zero platform cost — but also zero platform-backed protection if a buyer disputes the item or never shows up.
How to Set Up Your Wallapop Seller Account
Setting up Wallapop takes minutes. The platform is designed for casual sellers, so the friction is intentionally low — phone number, photo, location, and you are listing within five minutes. The verification depth scales with what you do: pure local sellers can stay nearly anonymous; sellers using Wallapop Envíos and Wallet payouts complete a full KYC check.
Account Types
| Individual (Consumer) | Professional User | Wallapop Pro (Spain) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup time | 5 minutes | 10–15 minutes | 10–15 minutes + subscription |
| Listing limit | Generous fair-use limit | Higher | 200 / 400 / 800 / 1,200 / 2,000 products |
| Tax ID required | No | Yes (NIF / VAT) | Yes |
| Verified badge | No | Optional | Yes — Pro badge |
| Analytics | Basic | Standard | Advanced — sales, traffic, performance |
| Best for | Selling personal items occasionally | Regular reseller | Full-time reselling business |
Step-by-Step Setup
- Download the app — Wallapop is available on iOS, Android, and the web. The app gets feature priority; the web is fine for browsing and listing.
- Sign up with phone, email, Apple, or Google — phone verification by SMS is mandatory before you can sell.
- Set your location — Wallapop ranks listings by distance, so set this accurately. You can adjust the visible radius later.
- Add a profile photo and short bio — sellers with photos consistently see more buyer messages than blank profiles.
- Verify ID for Wallet payouts — if you plan to use Wallapop Envíos and receive payouts to a bank account, complete the Mangopay-managed KYC verification: passport, ID card, or driving licence, plus IBAN.
- List your first item — title, 4 to 8 photos, category, condition, description, price, location, and shipping option. Wallapop’s listing flow takes about 90 seconds once you have the photos ready.
Sellers in Spain, Italy, and Portugal who want to receive payouts to a bank account complete Wallapop Wallet KYC through Mangopay (the regulated EU payment service provider behind the Wallet). Bank transfers from the Wallet take 2–5 working days.
How to Create Wallapop Listings That Actually Sell
Wallapop’s algorithm favours completeness, freshness, and proximity. The fastest way to get views is to fill in every available field, post high-quality photos, set a competitive price based on similar live listings, and post when buyers are active. The slowest way is to post a one-line title with one photo, hope for the best, and never refresh.
Title Optimisation
Use the full character allowance. Lead with brand and product name, follow with size, colour, and condition. Wallapop’s search is keyword-based — words you do not include cannot rank. A bad title is “shoes for sale, hardly worn.” A good title is “Nike Air Force 1 ’07 white leather UK 9 — excellent condition, original box.”
| Bad title | Good title |
|---|---|
| “PlayStation” | “Sony PlayStation 5 disc edition 825GB + 2 controllers — excellent condition, boxed” |
| “Levi’s jacket” | “Levi’s Vintage Type III trucker jacket size M — dark wash, original buttons, very good condition” |
| “Stroller for sale” | “Bugaboo Donkey 3 Mono complete set 2022 — black/grey, all accessories, like new” |
Description
Write 4 to 8 short paragraphs covering: condition (be specific — list every flaw), measurements, age, what is included, why you are selling, and your shipping/pickup preference. Wallapop’s description box has no word limit but readers skim — keep it scannable. Mention any keywords you would expect a buyer to search for. Sellers in Spain, Italy, or Portugal should write the description in the local language; sellers in the UK should write in English.
Pricing Strategy
Search Wallapop for the same item before pricing yours. Take the median of the live listings, then list at +15–20% to leave negotiation room — Wallapop buyers expect to haggle through chat. Drop the price by 5–10% every 2–3 weeks if the item does not sell. Do not race to the bottom on day one; the algorithm rewards pricing changes (a price drop is a freshness signal), so use that to your advantage.
Category Selection
Pick the most specific category. Wallapop’s category structure is granular — “Fashion > Women > Coats > Trench Coats” is a real path, and listings in specific subcategories convert better than items dumped in “Other.” For motors and real estate, follow the platform’s required field structure exactly.
Condition Grading
Wallapop’s condition options are New, Like New, Very Good, Good, Acceptable, Has Defects. Be honest. Returns from Wallapop Protection disputes almost always trace back to over-graded condition — listing a “Like New” item with a visible scratch is the fastest way to get a refund forced on you and a negative review.
Item Specifics — Brand, Size, Colour
Always select brand and size where the field exists. These power Wallapop’s faceted search filters. A pair of Nike Air Max with no brand tag is invisible to buyers filtering by Nike — so even though the brand is in your title, the missing field hides you from the most common search path.
Location
Set the listing location accurately. Wallapop’s algorithm gives a strong ranking boost to listings within 5 kilometres of the buyer, so a Madrid seller selling to a Madrid buyer will outrank a Barcelona seller for the same item. If you live in a small town, consider setting your location to the nearest large city (within reason — buyers will travel to collect, but only so far).
Photography Tips for Wallapop Sellers
According to RUIT’s selling guide, identical products with quality photos sell roughly 2x faster than those with poor photos on Wallapop. The rules below apply across all categories, but they matter most for fashion (where colour and condition decide the sale) and electronics (where buyers need to verify the model and any wear).
- Use 4 to 8 photos minimum. Wallapop allows up to 10. Use them.
- Shoot in natural daylight. Window light is free and outperforms most home lighting setups. Avoid harsh midday sun and yellow indoor bulbs.
- Show every angle. Front, back, sides, close-up of any flaw, brand label or model number, and the item being held or worn for scale.
- Use a clean, neutral background. A wall, a wooden floor, or a plain bedsheet works. Cluttered backgrounds reduce perceived quality.
- Show flaws transparently. Photographing a stain, scratch, or worn area protects you from disputes far more than hiding it. Wallapop Protection sides with the buyer when condition is misrepresented.
- Match the platform aesthetic. Wallapop’s audience is general-purpose, not curated like Depop. Functional, clear, well-lit photography beats stylised flat-lay shots in most categories.
- For electronics, show the device powered on. Buyers want proof the screen, ports, and buttons all work. A photo of the home screen ends 80% of “is it working?” messages before they start.
Shipping and Returns on Wallapop
Wallapop’s shipping model is two-track: Wallapop Envíos for Spain, Italy, and Portugal sellers; local pickup only for UK and France. Sellers in the full marketplace countries can choose per listing whether to allow shipping, allow local only, or both.
Wallapop Envíos (Spain, Italy, Portugal)
When a buyer chooses shipping at checkout, Wallapop generates a prepaid label, the buyer pays the shipping cost, and the seller drops the parcel at the chosen carrier point or arranges a SEUR home pickup (additional €2.25 surcharge to the seller). Carriers include Correos, SEUR, GLS, InPost, and the Method service for bulky items.
Standard delivery times: 2 to 4 business days. Bulky-item Method service: up to 8 business days. Hold periods at pickup points: 15 days for Correos, 10 days for SEUR and GLS — if the buyer does not collect within that window, the parcel is returned to the seller.
Local Pickup (“Solo en Mano”) — All Countries
The original Wallapop model. Buyer messages seller, they agree on a meeting place and time, and the exchange happens in person. There is no platform escrow on local pickup transactions — payment is whatever the parties agree on, usually cash or a Bizum/local bank transfer. Choose a public meeting place, count cash on the spot, and only release the item once payment is confirmed.
UK and France Sellers — Local Only
There is no Wallapop Envíos in the UK or France. All transactions are arranged in chat and completed in person. This makes Wallapop a complementary channel to Vinted in those markets — Vinted handles the shipped fashion sales; Wallapop handles the bulky local pickups.
Returns and Buyer Protection
Where Wallapop Envíos is used, the platform’s Wallapop Protection covers: items lost in transit, items significantly different from the listing, and items damaged in transit. The buyer has a 48-hour window after “Delivered” status to open a dispute. Sellers have 72 hours to respond before Wallapop mediates. Resolution can take up to 29 days; once a return is accepted, the buyer has 10 days to physically return the item.
Crucially, there is no general “right of withdrawal” on Wallapop — it is a C2C marketplace, so a buyer cannot return an item simply because they changed their mind. Returns require a substantive issue: damage, misrepresentation, or non-delivery.
How Does the Wallapop Algorithm Work? — Getting Your Listings Seen
Wallapop’s ranking is more transparent than most marketplace algorithms because the company has published several pieces about how it works. Per Wallapop’s own engineering team on Medium, the dominant signals are item-buyer distance, shippability, upload recency, and indexed fields (category, brand). Beyond the official factors, community-derived best practices fill in the rest.
Distance Is the Single Biggest Factor
Wallapop is hyperlocal by design. Search results within a 5 km radius of the buyer can look completely different from results 30 km away. If you live near a major city centre, your listings will outrank listings of the same item in suburbs and rural areas — for buyers in the city. There is no way to “fake” location, but you can adjust your registered location within the city you live in.
Freshness — Recently Posted or Recently Edited
New listings rank highest; freshness decays over weeks. Editing a listing (changing price, swapping a photo, adjusting the description) is a partial freshness signal — it does not reset the listing to “brand new” status, but it does mark the listing as recently active. The biggest freshness reset is reposting (deleting and recreating), but reposting too often can flag your account.
Shippability
Listings with Wallapop Envíos enabled rank higher in nationwide search than local-pickup-only listings, all else equal. If your item ships economically and you sell in Spain, Italy, or Portugal, enabling shipping is almost always the right call.
Indexed Fields — Category, Brand, Title Keywords
Wallapop’s search is keyword-based with faceted filters. Words in your title, fields you fill in (brand, size, condition), and the category you choose all feed the index. Generic titles with empty fields rank poorly. Specific titles with fully-completed fields rank well.
Engagement Signals — Favourites and Views
Listings that get favourited and viewed at high rates trend higher in feeds. There is no algorithmic boost for asking buyers to favourite, but there is for genuine engagement — which usually comes from good photos and a competitive price.
Seller Reputation
Reviews, response time, and successful sale history all factor in. Sellers who respond to buyer messages within 30 minutes outperform sellers who take days, both in conversion (buyers move on) and in algorithmic preference. A 4.8+ average review rating is the practical floor — below that, buyers hesitate.
Bumps and Spotlight (Paid Visibility)
The clearest way to short-circuit the freshness and distance algorithm is to pay for a Bump or Spotlight. A Bump pushes one listing to the top of search results for a defined period; Spotlight is a featured slot in the discovery feed. Bumps are most cost-effective for higher-priced items where the absolute uplift covers the bump cost — bumping a €5 item is rarely worth it.
Best Posting Times
Per RUIT’s seller guide, Wallapop community consensus is that Sunday 8–10 PM and Monday or Tuesday evenings see the highest browsing volume in Spain. Time your listings (or use re-edits) around those windows where possible.
| Factor | Impact | What you can control |
|---|---|---|
| Distance from buyer | Very high | Set location accurately; use city-centre coordinates if rural |
| Listing freshness | High | Edit listings every 1–2 weeks; reposting strategically |
| Shippability | High (in ES/IT/PT) | Enable Wallapop Envíos where the item ships economically |
| Photo quality and count | High | 4–8 photos, daylight, multiple angles, show flaws |
| Title keywords | High | Include brand, model, size, colour, condition |
| Indexed fields complete | Medium-high | Always fill brand, size, condition, category |
| Seller rating | Medium | Respond within 30 min, ship promptly, accurate descriptions |
| Engagement (favourites, views) | Medium | Compelling first photo, competitive price |
| Paid Bumps / Spotlight | High but costs money | Use selectively for higher-margin items |
Getting Paid and Tax Obligations on Wallapop
Wallapop’s payment model splits cleanly along the country line. Spain, Italy, and Portugal sellers receive funds into a Wallapop Wallet (managed by Mangopay S.A., an EU-regulated payment service provider) and withdraw to a bank account in 2–5 working days. UK and France sellers are paid directly by the buyer, off-platform — usually cash on collection or a local bank transfer agreed in chat.
Wallapop Wallet (Spain, Italy, Portugal)
Buyers pay through Wallapop’s checkout (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or stored Wallet balance). Funds are held in escrow until either: (1) the buyer confirms receipt, or (2) the 48-hour dispute window after “Delivered” status elapses. After release, you can withdraw to your bank — withdrawal is free.
UK and France — Off-Platform Payment
Wallapop in the UK and France does not process payments. Buyers and sellers arrange payment in chat. Most transactions complete with cash on collection. For higher-value items, a bank transfer or PayPal “friends and family” is sometimes used — but neither offers any platform-backed protection. Treat UK Wallapop transactions like Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace local pickups: meet in public, count the cash, hand over the item.
DAC7 Reporting (EU Sellers)
Since 1 January 2024, all EU online platforms — including Wallapop in Spain, Italy, and Portugal — must report seller data to local tax authorities under the DAC7 directive. Reporting is triggered when a seller exceeds either of two thresholds in a calendar year:
- 30 transactions, OR
- €2,000 in total sales
Above either threshold, Wallapop reports your name, address, tax ID, account details, and total sales to the tax authority of the country where you are tax-resident. This is not a tax — it is data sharing — but it means tax authorities will know about your sales whether you declare them or not. Spain transposed DAC7 into national law in January 2024; Italy and Portugal followed.
Spain — Hobby vs Business
Selling personal items at or below their original purchase price is generally not taxable in Spain (no capital gain). Professional sellers — or anyone reselling for profit at scale — must register as autónomo, declare income, and apply VAT where appropriate. Wallapop’s own tax guidance page outlines the basics.
Italy and Portugal
Both countries follow EU VAT rules. Personal-item sales below purchase price are typically not taxable; professional resellers register for VAT in their country. Wallapop will block accounts that fail to provide tax obligations data once flagged through DAC7 reporting.
UK Sellers
The UK trading allowance gives you £1,000 per tax year of trading income before tax obligations begin. Below £1,000, you generally do not need to register with HMRC. Above £1,000, register for Self Assessment and declare. HMRC’s guidance on online platform income is the authoritative reference. Note: HMRC also receives data from UK platforms above the same DAC7-style thresholds as the EU.
This is general guidance, not tax advice. Consult a qualified accountant for your specific situation.
What Sells Best on Wallapop in 2026?
Wallapop’s category mix is wider than any other major C2C app, so “what sells best” depends on whether you are pricing for fast turnover or for margin. Two categories dominate the data: motors and technology. Two more — fashion and baby/kids — have enormous volume but lower price points. Below are the segments with the strongest sell-through across Spain, Italy, and Portugal, plus rough price ranges and competition notes.
| Category | Typical sale price | Competition | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|

Pro Tips from Experienced Wallapop Sellers
- Verify your phone and ID early. Verified profiles get more buyer messages and rank higher on close-call search results. The verification flow takes a few minutes — do it once, benefit forever.
- Reply within 30 minutes during peak hours. Wallapop buyers message multiple sellers simultaneously and buy from whoever responds first with a reasonable price. Speed beats polish in messages.
- Always price 15–20% above your floor. Buyers will offer below your listed price. If your minimum acceptable is €40, list at €48–€50. Never list at your floor — you have nowhere to negotiate down.
- Re-edit, don’t re-post. Wallapop penalises rapid delete-and-relist patterns. Editing the listing (price drop, photo swap, description tweak) is a partial freshness signal that doesn’t risk an account flag.
- Use the Wallapop Wallet for shipped sales. Even though you can withdraw immediately, leaving balance in the Wallet means buyers see your “verified seller” status and you avoid 2–5 day waits on smaller transactions.
- Respond to lowballers politely and stay firm. A counter-offer at your listed price (or only a small discount) ends the negotiation cleanly. Engaging in long negotiations rarely closes the sale.
- Bundle low-value items. Five €3 books listed individually take five times the work of one €15 bundle — and bundles often sell faster because buyers feel they are getting more value.
- For high-value items, prefer Wallapop Envíos with insurance. The Wallapop Protection mechanism covers up to €2,500 in transit. Local pickup with cash for a €1,500 item carries far more risk than a tracked, insured shipment.
- Crosslist to Vinted and Depop. A single piece of clothing listed on Wallapop, Vinted, and Depop can reach 30+ million additional buyers across Europe at zero extra cost. FLUF Connect’s inventory sync handles the deduplication so you never accidentally double-sell, and bulk operations let you push hundreds of listings at once.
Common Mistakes New Wallapop Sellers Make
- Vague titles like “shoes” or “phone”. The first three words of your title carry the most weight in Wallapop’s search index. Generic titles bury your listing under thousands of better-titled competitors.
- Posting a single dark photo. Listings with one photo convert at a fraction of the rate of listings with 4+ photos. Use the natural light from a window — no studio setup required.
- Ignoring the brand and size fields. A pair of Nike trainers without “Nike” selected in the brand field is invisible to buyers filtering by Nike. The title alone is not enough — the structured fields are what power Wallapop’s search filters.
- Pricing at the floor on day one. Wallapop buyers expect to negotiate. Listing at your minimum acceptable price means every offer that comes in is a loss. List at +15–20% and treat the listed price as a ceiling.
- Ignoring messages overnight. Buyers message multiple sellers and buy from whoever responds first with a reasonable price. Overnight gaps lose sales to faster competitors. Wallapop has push notifications — use them.
- Over-grading condition. Listing a “Like New” item with visible scratches is the fastest way to a forced refund through Wallapop Protection and a negative review. Be honest. “Good — minor wear, see photos” sells better than “Like New” with hidden flaws.
- Not enabling Wallapop Envíos in ES/IT/PT. Local-only listings reach a fraction of the audience of nationwide listings. Unless the item is genuinely too bulky to ship, enable shipping.
- Selling on Wallapop only. The single biggest leverage available to a Wallapop seller is crosslisting. The same inventory listed on Wallapop + Vinted + Depop reaches three audiences with no extra work — provided you have inventory sync to prevent double-sales.
Cross-List Your Wallapop Products with FLUF Connect
Wallapop reaches 19 million users in Iberia and Italy. Vinted reaches 100 million across 26 countries. Depop reaches Gen Z buyers in the UK, US, and Italy. eBay reaches everyone else. The same item listed on all four marketplaces sells faster than the same item listed on one — and the only thing standing in the way is the manual work of recreating each listing four times and tracking inventory across four dashboards.
FLUF Connect adds Wallapop to its line-up of supported marketplaces. Connect your Wallapop account once, and FLUF crosslists your existing products to Wallapop automatically — title, photos, description, price, category — and keeps inventory in sync across every connected channel. When a product sells on Wallapop, FLUF removes it from your other channels. When a product sells elsewhere, FLUF removes it from Wallapop. No double-sales, no manual relisting.
Honest Feature Scope on Wallapop
FLUF Connect supports a different feature mix on Wallapop than on Vinted, Depop, or eBay — partly because Wallapop’s own platform offers different capabilities. Here’s what works and what doesn’t, plainly:
| Feature | Wallapop in FLUF Connect | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Crosslisting (create listings) | Yes | Push products from FLUF, Shopify, Vinted, Depop, eBay, Etsy to Wallapop |
| Inventory sync (delisting on sale) | Yes | When an item sells on any connected channel, it is removed from Wallapop |
| Sold-item detection on Wallapop | Yes | FLUF detects when an item sells on Wallapop and syncs the rest of your channels |
| Listing edits (price, title, photos) | Yes | Edit once in FLUF, push the change to Wallapop |
| Bulk operations | Yes | Bulk crosslist, bulk edit, bulk delist across all channels including Wallapop |
| Auto-relisting | Not yet | FLUF’s auto-relisting is currently supported on Depop, eBay, and Vinted only |
| Offer management | Not yet | FLUF’s offer management is currently supported on Depop, eBay, and Vinted only |
| Real-time order import | Limited | Wallapop does not expose a public orders API; FLUF detects sales via inventory checks rather than instantaneous order webhooks |
For most sellers, the missing pieces are not a blocker. Wallapop’s own offer flow happens in the chat (so platform-side offer management would not improve it materially), and the “freshness boost” from auto-relisting is partially achievable on Wallapop through visibility services and price edits. The crosslisting and inventory sync — which is what 90% of resellers actually need — is fully supported.
How It Works in Three Steps
- Connect your Wallapop account. Sign in to Wallapop in your browser, then connect through FLUF. The connection takes about 60 seconds.
- Select products to crosslist. Pick individual products, filter by category, or set up auto-crosslisting rules so every new product you import to FLUF is automatically pushed to Wallapop.
- Let FLUF handle the rest. When something sells, FLUF removes it from the rest of your channels. When you edit a listing in FLUF, the change syncs to Wallapop.
Pricing
FLUF Connect starts at GBP 19/month on the Growth plan, which includes 500 free crosslistings, full inventory sync across 10+ marketplaces (including Wallapop), bulk operations, and dedicated support. The full pricing breakdown is on the FLUF Connect pricing page. Comparing FLUF to other crosslisting tools? Frequently Asked Questions
Wallapop operates as a full marketplace — with Wallapop Envíos shipping, payment processing, and buyer protection — in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. In the UK and France, Wallapop runs as free local classifieds: you can list items and chat with buyers, but transactions are arranged off-platform (usually local pickup with cash). Other countries are not currently supported as separate marketplaces.
Listing is free for individuals everywhere Wallapop operates. On local pickup ('solo en mano') sales, sellers pay 0% commission. On shipped sales via Wallapop Envíos in Spain, Italy, or Portugal, the platform deducts roughly 10% as a handling fee from the seller payout. Wallapop Pro is an optional subscription in Spain only, ranging from €39 to €229 per month based on product volume.
Wallapop Envíos is the platform's prepaid shipping service. It generates a label, the buyer pays the shipping cost, and the seller drops the parcel at a Correos, SEUR, GLS, or InPost pickup point (or arranges a SEUR home pickup for an extra €2.25). Wallapop Envíos is available within and between Spain, Italy, and Portugal only. It is not available in the UK or France, where transactions are local-pickup only.
Wallapop Protection covers shipped transactions in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. The buyer pays a protection fee on top of the item price (€1.69 flat under €13, then €0.69 + 7.5%, capped at €50 for items up to €2,500). Protection covers items lost in transit, items significantly different from the listing, and items damaged in transit. Buyers have a 48-hour dispute window after delivery. Local pickup transactions and UK/France transactions have no buyer protection.
The strongest categories are smartphones, gaming consoles, fashion, used cars, baby and kids equipment, bikes and e-bikes, furniture, trainers, and designer handbags. Smartphones (especially iPhones), PlayStations, and Nintendo Switches move fastest in tech. In fashion, branded items at 30–50% of retail (Zara, Bershka, Mango, Levi's, Nike) sell consistently. Used cars are a major Wallapop category, particularly in Spain.
Set your location accurately (distance is the single biggest ranking factor), use 4–8 photos in natural daylight, fill in every structured field (brand, size, condition, category), write specific titles with brand and model, price 15–20% above your floor to leave room for negotiation, respond to messages within 30 minutes, and edit listings every 1–2 weeks to keep the freshness signal active. Crosslist to Vinted and Depop for additional reach.
Selling personal items at or below their original purchase price is generally not taxable in Spain, Italy, or Portugal. UK sellers have a £1,000 trading allowance from HMRC. Above these thresholds, you must register with your local tax authority. Since January 2024, Wallapop reports sellers who exceed 30 transactions or €2,000 per year to EU tax authorities under the DAC7 directive. This is general guidance — consult a qualified accountant for your situation.
Yes — and most experienced resellers in Spain, Italy, Portugal, the UK, and France do exactly that. Wallapop and Vinted reach largely different audiences: Wallapop dominates Iberia and Italy, while Vinted leads in fashion across 26 European countries. FLUF Connect crosslists between them and syncs your inventory automatically, so when an item sells on one, it is removed from the other. This prevents double-sales without manual tracking.
Wallapop's payment processing, escrow, and buyer protection mechanisms only apply to shipped transactions in Spain, Italy, and Portugal. Local pickup transactions and all UK/France transactions are off-platform — meet in a public place, count cash on the spot, and only release the item once payment is confirmed. For higher-value items in markets where Wallapop Envíos is available, prefer shipping with Wallapop Protection over cash on collection — the platform-backed protection covers up to €2,500 per transaction.
Yes. FLUF Connect supports Wallapop alongside Vinted, Depop, eBay, Shopify, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, Whatnot, Vestiaire Collective, Temu, and Yaga. From one dashboard you can crosslist your products to Wallapop, sync inventory across all connected channels, edit listings in bulk, and detect when items sell. Auto-relisting and offer management are not yet available specifically for Wallapop, but they are supported on Depop, eBay, and Vinted. Crosslisting starts at GBP 19/month with 500 free crosslistings on the Growth plan.
