Sell on the XXXLutz Marketplace: Fees, Requirements and Who It Suits
What the XXXLutz marketplace in Germany and Austria charges, the commission by category, what it asks of sellers, and how FLUF Connect fits once you are approved.
Key takeaways
- XXXLutz is a furniture and home retailer. Its marketplace sells partner products on its online shops in Germany and Austria.
- You pay €49 a month plus VAT and a commission of 9% to 19% by category, charged on the price and the shipping, both including VAT.
- You give customers a free 30-day return, provide customer service in the local language and hold at least €2 million of business liability cover.
- Every product needs a 13-digit EAN.
- Once approved, you can connect your seller account in FLUF Connect and list stock whose barcodes are already in the XXXLutz catalogue. FLUF does not create catalogue products or import orders.
This guide is for a furniture, home or garden business with branded, barcoded stock that already ships across Germany or Austria. If you sell second-hand furniture as a private person, XXXLutz will not take you; Kleinanzeigen or willhaben will suit you better.
What the XXXLutz marketplace is
XXXLutz is an Austrian furniture retailer with stores in both countries. Its online shops sell its own range and, through the marketplace, products from approved sellers. The marketplace terms (version 10/2025) cover the German and Austrian shops, and the commission tables differ between them.
Fees
The terms set a monthly basic fee of €49 plus VAT, taken from your account in advance. Commission runs from 9% to 19% of the selling price including VAT and of the shipping charge including VAT, and is reduced when you refund an order. These are the German rates, as of October 2025:
| Category | Commission, Germany |
|---|---|
| Furniture, mattresses and bed accessories | 19% |
| Lighting, kitchens, kitchen and household items, bathroom and wellness, home textiles | 16% |
| Decoration, DIY, baby and kids, sports and outdoor, garden accessories and BBQ, pet supplies | 14% |
| Small household appliances, electric tools and garden equipment | 12% |
| Large household appliances | 9% |
| All other categories | 16% |
Austria charges 19% on almost everything, apart from 12% on small appliances and electric tools and 9% on large appliances. On a €600 sofa sold in Germany with €49 delivery, the commission is 19% of €649, which is €123.31, before the monthly fee.
XXXLutz pays out your balance at set intervals, after commission and other deductions. If your sales in a month do not cover the deductions, you pay the difference within 30 days.
What XXXLutz asks of sellers
- A 13-digit EAN on every product. You may not change an EAN the manufacturer assigned.
- A free 30-day return for every customer, including assembled furniture that shows no more use than checking it requires. You send return labels and handle returns yourself.
- Cancellations handled within 24 hours on weekdays.
- Customer service in the local language of the shop you sell on.
- Business liability insurance of at least €2 million, with proof sent when you apply.
The returns rule is the one to price in. A sofa returned from the other end of Germany costs you the freight both ways, and the commission is only reduced, not waived, on refunded orders.
Is it right for you?
It suits a business that already sells bulky home goods in Germany or Austria, has EANs for its range, and can absorb freight on returns. It suits less well a seller outside the EU, anyone without German-speaking customer service, or a catalogue of unbranded items with no barcodes.
Other home and DIY retailers with marketplaces include home24, OBI and Bauhaus. For the wider picture, see selling in Germany and selling in Austria.
Using FLUF Connect with XXXLutz
XXXLutz approves its own sellers, so FLUF has no application link for it. On the Channels screen in FLUF Connect its card is marked “Invite only” and covers two countries. Once XXXLutz has accepted you and your products are in its catalogue, choose “Already approved? Connect” on the card.

FLUF can then list items from your inventory that already exist in the XXXLutz catalogue, matched by barcode. A business that keeps the same stock in FLUF for its own Shopify store or for Amazon can offer it here without typing it in again.
| Task | On XXXLutz through FLUF Connect |
|---|---|
| Apply and get accepted | You do this with XXXLutz |
| Connect your approved seller account | Yes, from the Channels screen |
| List stock that the catalogue already holds, by barcode | Yes |
| Create new catalogue products | No |
| Detect sales or import orders | No. Manage orders in your XXXLutz seller account. |
| Relisting or offer management | No |
FLUF does not see XXXLutz orders, so a sale there does not lower your stock elsewhere by itself. When an order takes your last unit, mark it sold in FLUF and it comes down from the other marketplaces you list it on.
What FLUF costs
Crosslisting and inventory sync are on every FLUF plan, from Starter upwards. Plans are on the pricing page, and you can start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month.
