Key takeaways

  • Galeria’s marketplace sells to customers in Germany, next to the department store’s own range.
  • You need an EU VAT ID, proof that you hold the rights to the brands you sell, German product descriptions and an EU warehouse and returns address.
  • You ship and handle returns yourself. Commission depends on the category.
  • After Galeria accepts your application you sign a seller contract and go through identity checks.
  • Once approved, you can connect your seller account in FLUF Connect and list stock whose barcodes are already in Galeria’s catalogue. FLUF does not create catalogue products or import orders.

This guide is for a brand or an established retailer of fashion, beauty, home or electronics goods that wants a German department-store name on its products. If you sell second-hand clothes as a private person, Galeria will not take you, and Kleinanzeigen or Vinted will suit you better.

What the Galeria marketplace is

Galeria is the German department store group. On galeria.de it sells its own stock and, through its marketplace, products from approved partner sellers. A Galeria marketplace guide updated in October 2026 puts traffic at about 1.5 million visits a month and lists Germany as the only area served.

Some partners are large. In November 2024, TextilWirtschaft reported that MediaMarkt-Saturn had started selling through the Galeria marketplace. A department-store shop front is the draw, and you share it with retailers of that size, so a brand with a clear identity has the better chance of standing out.

Who can sell

The guide lists these requirements for sellers:

  • A valid EU tax number (VAT ID).
  • Proof of trademark rights for the EU or Germany for the brands you list.
  • Product descriptions in German.
  • A warehouse and returns address inside the EU, with delivery and returns handled by you.

The trademark proof matters most to a reseller. If you sell other people’s brands, check that you can document your right to do so before you apply, because a distributor letter or authorisation is likely to be asked for.

Fees

Commission depends on the category. Published figures for the monthly fee do not agree with each other, and Galeria has not put a rate card on a page we could read, so ask for both numbers in writing during onboarding. Work them out on your lowest-margin lines with delivery and an expected return rate included, since you pay for both.

How you apply

  1. Apply. Use the “Verkaufen auf Galeria Marktplatz” form on Galeria’s site with your company details and range.
  2. Approval. Galeria reviews whether your offer fits its marketplace.
  3. Contract and checks. An accepted seller signs a seller contract and completes identity (KYC) checks before going live.

Is it right for you?

It suits a business with branded, barcoded products, rights it can document, German product content and an EU dispatch point that already handles returns. It suits less well a seller outside the EU, a reseller who cannot show brand authorisation, or anyone whose catalogue is only in English.

For other German retailers with marketplaces, see the guides to MediaMarkt, home24 and OBI, or the overview of selling in Germany. Department stores elsewhere include Galeries Lafayette and Debenhams.

Using FLUF Connect with Galeria

Galeria approves its own sellers, so FLUF has no application link for it. On the Channels screen in FLUF Connect its card is marked “Invite only” and covers one country, Germany. Once Galeria has accepted you and your products are in its catalogue, choose “Already approved? Connect” on the card.

FLUF can then list items from your inventory that already exist in Galeria’s catalogue, matched by barcode. A brand that keeps the same stock in FLUF for Amazon or its own Shopify store can offer those units here without typing them in again.

Task On Galeria through FLUF Connect
Apply and get accepted You do this with Galeria
Connect your approved seller account Yes, from the Channels screen
List stock that the catalogue already holds, by barcode Yes
Write German content or prove brand rights No. You do this with Galeria.
Detect sales or import orders No. Manage orders in your Galeria seller account.
Relisting or offer management No

FLUF does not see Galeria orders, so a sale there will not lower your stock elsewhere on its own. When an order takes your last unit, mark it sold in FLUF and it comes down from the other marketplaces you list it on.

FLUF’s plans for businesses selling on several channels are on the pricing page. Start with 7 days for £1, then from £9/month to see the Channels screen with your own stock.
