Set a Different Title and Description Per Marketplace

Set a Different Title and Description Per Marketplace

Sometimes one marketplace needs different wording. Facebook might hold a listing for review over a brand name, you might want shorter wording for one site, or one buyer audience expects different words. FLUF lets you give any marketplace its own title and description while your main listing and every other marketplace stay exactly as they are.

Navigate to: Inventory → Crosslist → click the item → under Description, tick Different title & description per marketplace

How It Works

Your product has one main title and description. A marketplace with its own text uses that instead, and nothing else changes.

  • Marketplaces with no text of their own keep following your main title and description, including any later edits
  • A marketplace with its own text keeps it, even when you edit your main listing
  • Your footer, SKU line and any description settings for that marketplace are still added on top
  • Leave a box empty and that marketplace goes back to your main text

Setting It Up

  1. Go to Inventory → Crosslist and click the item. Its panel opens ready to edit
  2. Under Description, tick Different title & description per marketplace
  3. Pick the marketplace's tab
  4. Type its title, its description, or both
  5. Click anywhere else and it saves; the tab gets a \* so you can see which marketplaces have their own text

It is used the next time the item is listed, relisted or updated on that marketplace.

From the Review Page

If you use Review before listing, or a marketplace refuses a listing, the item waits on the review page. Editing its title or description there changes that marketplace only. Approve it and it goes out with your wording, while your main listing and your other marketplaces are left alone.

Troubleshooting

No marketplace tabs after ticking the box?

  • The tabs are your connected marketplaces. Connect one on the Channels page first, then come back to the item

Saved new text but the live listing hasn't changed?

  • It is used on the next listing, relist or update for that marketplace; edit the item or relist it to send it now

Title change not showing on Vestiaire Collective?

  • Vestiaire builds its own titles from the brand and model, so only the description applies there

Want to undo it?

  • Clear both boxes on that marketplace's tab, and it follows your main listing again
