FLUF's automatic inventory sync is the core feature that prevents overselling. Here's how it works:
The Problem: When you crosslist an item to 8 marketplaces, and it sells on Depop, you need to mark it sold on eBay, Shopify, Vinted, and all your other channels. Doing this manually is time-consuming and error-prone.
FLUF's Solution: Automatic sync happens in real-time when any sale occurs on any platform.
Step-by-Step Sync Process:
1. Sale Detection
FLUF monitors all your connected channels for new sales
Some channels notify FLUF instantly, others are checked periodically
You can also manually trigger sync at any time
2. Product Matching FLUF automatically identifies which listings are the same product across your channels. For best results, always use consistent SKUs across platforms.
3. Inventory Update For each matched listing on other platforms:
Quantity decreased by sold amount
If quantity reaches 0, listing is marked as sold/ended
Sync attempt logged in Sync History
4. Confirmation
Success/failure logged
Email notification (if enabled)
Visible in Sync History tab
Sync Timing:
Automatic syncs happen throughout the day
Some channels sync faster than others depending on the integration
Manual sync: Immediate
What Gets Synced: ✅ Inventory quantity ✅ Sold status ✅ Price updates (if you edit in FLUF) ✅ Title updates ❌ Description (too large, can cause issues) ❌ Images (marketplace limitations)
SKU Best Practices:
Always use SKUs for crosslisted items
Keep SKUs unique and consistent
Use alphanumeric codes (avoid special characters)
Example format: BRAND-TYPE-SIZE-001
Variants:
If you have variants (size/color), each variant can have its own SKU
FLUF syncs variants individually
Selling a size M on Depop only marks size M sold elsewhere
