Consignment

Consignment lets two FLUF sellers sell together. A supplier has the stock. An outlet sells the supplier's items on its own Shopify store and keeps a commission on each sale.

Anyone with a FLUF Connect account can set it up themselves. There's nothing to request.

The two roles

Supplier (consignor) You have the stock. Your items are listed on your partner's Shopify store. When one sells, you ship it and get paid your share.

Outlet (consignee) You run a Shopify store and sell a supplier's items on it. You keep your commission, and FLUF pays the supplier their share.

You can be both a supplier and an outlet.

Getting started

1. Pick your role

Open the Control Panel and choose one:

I supply stock: other shops sell your items.
I sell other people's stock: you list a supplier's items on your Shopify store.
Both

You can change this at any time.

2. Follow your checklist

The Control Panel then shows what's left to set up.

Suppliers

Set up payouts. Connect a Stripe account so you can be paid when your items sell.

Outlets

Connect your Shopify store on the Channels page. Consigned items are sold through it.
Set your terms in Settings: your default commission and shipping time.
Add a payment method in Settings. It's used to pay suppliers their share when their items sell on your store.

3. Invite a partner

On Counterparties, click Invite a partner and enter:

Field	What it means
Email or FLUF user ID	Who you're inviting. They don't need a FLUF account yet.
Your role	Whether you're the supplier or the outlet in this partnership
Commission rate (%)	The share of each sale price the outlet keeps
Expected shipping (days)	How quickly the supplier ships a sold item

Your partner gets an email with a personal link, valid for 30 days. They sign in (or create a free FLUF account) and accept. If they already have a FLUF account, the invite also appears on their Counterparties page.

How a sale works

The supplier's items are listed on the outlet's Shopify store. Supplier stock can come from: AbeBooks, Allegro, Amazon, ASOS Marketplace, Bidzzy, BigCommerce, Causee, Depop, Designer Wardrobe, Discogs, eBay, eMAG, Etsy, Gettit, Misellit, OnBuy, OpenCart, PrestaShop, Shopify, Square, Squarespace, StockX, TikTok Shop, Trendyol, Vakoop and Wix.
A customer buys an item on the outlet's store.
The order appears under Orders for both partners.
The supplier ships the item and clicks Mark as Shipped.
Two days after it's marked as shipped, the sale is settled. The outlet keeps its commission and the supplier's share is paid out to their Stripe account.

Fees

FLUF takes 2% of the sale price from the supplier and 2% from the outlet.

Example: an item sells for £100 at a 20% commission.

The outlet keeps £20 minus £2 = £18
The supplier gets £80 minus £2 = £78

Settings

For outlets

Expected shipping days and default commission rate
Prepend brand to title: adds the brand name to the start of each product title
Payment method: used to pay suppliers their share
Product filters: choose which of a supplier's items reach your store

Filter	What it does
Title includes / excludes	Only take items with (or without) these words in the title
SKU includes	Only take items whose SKUs match
Collections	Only take items from certain Shopify collections
Price min / max	Only take items within a price range

Filters can be set for each supplier separately.

For suppliers

Payouts: your Stripe account status, with a link to your Stripe dashboard

Ending a partnership

On Counterparties, click End Partnership on the partner's card and confirm. Either partner can do this.
