Promote Your eBay Listings (Promoted Listings)

Promote Your eBay Listings (Promoted Listings)

Promoting makes your eBay listings appear higher in eBay's search results, in front of more buyers. It uses eBay's pay-on-sale model — you only pay your chosen ad rate when a promoted item actually sells. There's no upfront cost and no daily budget to manage.

Where to set it up

On Channels → eBay, click Promote (next to Offer Management). Everything is in this one window.

The Promote button is visible even before you connect eBay, so you can see what's on offer. You'll need to connect eBay first to switch it on.

Setting your ad rate

Your ad rate is the percentage of the final sale price you pay when a promoted item sells.

  • eBay's minimum is 2%.
  • Most sellers use 5–15% to stay competitive.
  • A higher rate competes for more visibility, but costs more per sale.

Example: at a 2% ad rate, an item that sells for £20 costs you £0.40 in ad fees — and only because it sold. Items that don't sell cost you nothing.

Choosing what to promote

You have two options in the Promote window:

OptionWhat it does
Promote all eBay listingsPromotes your whole eBay inventory at your ad rate.
Promote by rulePromotes only listings matching a price range, brand, category, or title keyword. Add as many rules as you like.

Does turning it on promote my existing listings too?

Yes. When you turn on Promote all eBay listings (or add a rule), it applies to both your existing listings and any new ones you create from then on. Your existing listings are promoted automatically in the background — you don't need to do anything else.

Want to promote just a hand-picked set of items rather than everything? Use Bulk Jobs → eBay → Boost to select specific listings.

Turning it off

Switch Promote all eBay listings off (or remove a rule) in the Promote window and save. The affected listings stop being promoted on your next sync.

"Reconnect eBay to enable Promote"

If you see this message, your eBay connection was made before eBay added Promoted Listings access. Reconnect eBay from Channels → eBay → Reconnect to grant access — your listings and settings are unaffected.
