AI Authenticity Check
Marketplaces take counterfeits seriously — some, like Vinted, can permanently suspend a seller's account when their systems flag a listing as potentially inauthentic, even when the item is genuine but the listing lacks proof. The AI Authenticity Check helps you catch risky listings before they go live.
Important: This is an advisory tool, not a guarantee. No automated check is 100% accurate, and authenticity always remains the seller's responsibility.
What It Does
The check reviews an item's photos and listing details for common authenticity red flags, such as:
- Branding, logos, or labels that look inconsistent with the claimed brand
- High-counterfeit-risk brands (luxury and hype labels) listed with no visible proof of authenticity — receipts, serial numbers, date codes, or authenticity cards
- Prices implausibly low for the claimed brand and condition
It then gives a short, plain-English verdict explaining its reasoning — and, when something looks risky, what proof photo would help.
Two Ways to Use It
1. On-demand check from any product
- Open any product from Listings
- Find the Authenticity check row in the product settings
- Click Check — you'll get a verdict in a few seconds
- Updated your photos or title? Click Re-check for a fresh verdict
2. Automatic screening before crosslisting (optional)
Turn on AI authenticity check before crosslisting in Settings → General. With this enabled:
- Every item is screened automatically before it's published to any channel
- If the check flags an item, the crosslist is paused and you'll see the verdict explaining why
- Add proof to your photos (a receipt, serial number, or authenticity card), then re-check and crosslist again
This setting is off by default — turn it on if you sell branded or luxury items and want a safety net.
When an Item Is Flagged
A flag doesn't mean your item is fake — it usually means the listing doesn't show enough proof. To clear a flag:
- Add close-up photos of inside labels, serial numbers, date codes, receipts, or authenticity cards
- Open the product and click Re-check
- Once it passes, crosslist as normal
If you're confident in the item and prefer to list anyway, you can turn the setting off in Settings → General at any time — the on-demand check stays available either way.
FAQs
Does each check cost anything? No — checks are included with your plan.
Will the check slow down my crosslisting? Barely. Each product is checked once and the verdict is remembered, so relists and repeat pushes aren't re-checked unless the photos or title change.
Does this apply to auto-relisting? No — relisting of items that are already live is never blocked by the check.
Can the check guarantee my account won't be suspended? No. It reduces risk by catching common red flags before publication, but each marketplace makes its own decisions.
