Rewrite Descriptions Per Channel with AI
Different marketplaces reward different writing. A punchy, hashtag-heavy description that works on Depop can feel out of place on eBay. FLUF can automatically rewrite each listing's description for a specific channel — in your own words, using a prompt you set once.

How It Works
Each channel has an AI: rewrite description for this channel box in its settings. You write instructions once — for example "translate to Italian and add three relevant hashtags" or "make it shorter and more casual" — and from then on, every time you crosslist an item to that channel, FLUF rewrites that listing's description according to your instructions before sending it.
This means:
- You keep one master description on your FLUF listing
- Each channel can receive its own tailored version automatically
- The original listing on FLUF stays exactly as you wrote it — only the outbound version for that channel is rewritten
Leave the box blank and nothing changes — your description is sent as-is.
Setting It Up
- Go to Channels
- Open the channel you want to tailor descriptions for
- Find AI: rewrite description for this channel in its settings
- Write your instructions in plain English
- Save
Your instructions take effect on your next crosslist or relist to that channel. Listings already live on a channel are not rewritten retroactively.
Example Prompts
- "Translate the description to French and keep it friendly."
- "Make it shorter and punchier — two sentences maximum."
- "Add a warm sign-off and basic care instructions."
- "Rewrite in a professional tone and end with three relevant hashtags."
- "Remove any mention of other marketplaces and tidy up the wording."
You can set a different prompt on each channel, so the same item reads naturally everywhere you list it.
What's Preserved
The rewrite is told to keep your factual details intact:
- Brand name
- Size
- Condition
- Measurements and materials
It rewrites the wording and tone — it won't invent details or drop the facts buyers rely on.
Tips
Review your first few rewrites. The rewrite is very accurate, but it's worth checking your first couple of crosslists on each channel to confirm the tone matches what you want, then adjust your prompt if needed.
Be specific. The clearer your instructions, the better the result. "Casual and short, end with hashtags" gives a more consistent outcome than "make it nice".
Combine with other channel settings. The rewrite runs alongside your other per-channel description settings, such as removing lines that start with certain text, so you can clean up and restyle in one pass.
Troubleshooting
Rewrite didn't run on a listing?
- Confirm the AI: rewrite description for this channel box has instructions saved for that channel — an empty box sends the description unchanged
- The rewrite only applies to new crosslists and relists, not to listings already live on a channel
- If a rewrite can't be produced for any reason, FLUF safely sends your original description rather than a blank one
Want the same wording everywhere?
- Leave the box blank on channels where you want your original description sent as-is
