Index Browser & Re-indexing

Index Browser

The Index Browser at /connect/listings/index is FLUF's window into the local catalogue we keep of every listing on your connected channels. We use it to power duplicate detection, inventory sync, relisting safety checks, and the Listings Log.

What you see

  • Channel cards — one per connected channel, showing how many of your products FLUF currently has indexed plus the last sync time.
  • Channel tabs + search — filter to a single channel, search by title or SKU, and toggle "Show Duplicates Only" to find any items listed twice on the same channel.
  • Recent indexing activity — a collapsible panel below the cards showing each batch of products FLUF processed, when, and via which path. Auto-updates while indexing is in progress.

Refresh vs. Flush & Re-index

There are two ways to bring the index up to date — pick the one that matches your situation.

Refresh (the default)

The Refresh button on each channel card asks FLUF to resume indexing from where it left off. It's quick, non-destructive, and ideal for "I just listed something new on Vinted, please pick it up." Use this 95% of the time.

Flush & Re-index

If your index looks wrong — for example, sync starts behaving oddly, duplicate detection misses obvious copies, or counts have drifted — use the Flush & re-index link on the channel card to wipe the local index for that channel and rebuild it from scratch.

What it does:

  • Deletes FLUF's local copy of your listings on that channel
  • Queues a fresh re-fetch from page 1
  • For Vinted and Facebook, the rebuild runs through the Chrome extension — keep the dashboard tab open until it finishes
  • What it doesn't touch:

  • Your actual listings on the marketplace (nothing gets delisted, edited, or sold)
  • Other channels (unless you choose "all channels")
  • Confirmation required. You'll be asked to type a phrase like FLUSH AND REINDEX VINTED so it can't be triggered by accident.

    How long does it take?

Re-indexing speed depends on how many products you have. Plan for around two hours per 100 products as a worst case — large stores can take overnight. In practice it's usually much faster, but please don't start a flush unless you're prepared to wait.

While the rebuild is in progress, duplicate detection and inventory sync may show gaps for the affected channel.

    Email when done

Tick "Email me when re-indexing finishes" in the flush dialog and we'll send a one-off email to your account address the moment FLUF has finished rebuilding. This way you don't need to keep checking back.

    The activity panel

Open the Recent indexing activity panel under the channel cards to see exactly what FLUF is doing right now:

  • When — how long ago each batch was processed
  • Channel — which channel the batch was for
  • Sourcecron (server-side), extension (Vinted/Facebook), or flush (a wipe you triggered)
  • Indexed — how many products were added in that batch
  • Run total — running total since the last flush for that channel
  • The panel auto-refreshes every 5 seconds while indexing is active and pauses when your tab is in the background. If you ever wonder "is anything happening?", this is where to look.

    Removing index entries

The Actions column on each row lets you:

  • View the product detail page
  • Delist from channel — actually removes the listing on the marketplace
  • Remove from index — deletes only FLUF's local record without touching the marketplace listing (useful when FLUF still holds onto a product that no longer exists on the channel)
  • Merging duplicate rows manually

FLUF combines listings of the same item across channels automatically wherever the SKU or title is unambiguous. For the cases where it can't tell — usually subtly different titles per channel, or items where only one of the duplicates has a SKU — you can merge them yourself:

    1. Search the Index Browser for the item (e.g. by title or SKU).
    2. Tick the checkbox on every row that's the same physical product (the eBay copy, the Vinted copy, the Depop copy, etc.).
    3. Click Merge selected on the toolbar that appears at the top.
    4. A confirmation dialog shows each row you've selected with a "Primary" badge on the one that will be kept as the main record. Confirm.

    After merging:

  • The Listings page collapses them into a single row showing all the channel pills.
  • A sale on any of those channels will automatically mark sold across the others.
  • Editing the listing pushes the change to every channel.
  • You can merge up to 50 rows in one go. At least one selected row needs to already be linked to a FLUF product — if every row is brand new from a channel and FLUF hasn't created a record yet, the merge button stays disabled (you'll see a hint in the dialog).

When to use Flush & Re-index

Common signals that a flush is worthwhile:

  • Sync History shows repeated mismatches that don't resolve
  • "Show Duplicates Only" misses or invents duplicates you can verify another way
  • Your channel card's count is wildly different from what's on the marketplace
  • You've made big bulk changes on the marketplace itself (mass delete, store migration, etc.)
  • If none of those apply, Refresh is the right tool — it's lighter and faster.
