Translate Listings When Crosslisting
Sell internationally without retyping every title and description. FLUF can automatically translate your listings from your native language into another language at crosslisting time — so you can write once in your own language and reach buyers in other markets.
Navigate to: Settings → General to enable translation
How It Works
When translation is enabled, every time you crosslist a product to a selected marketplace, FLUF translates the title and description into your chosen destination language before sending them to the channel. Your original listing on FLUF stays in your native language — only the outbound crosslisted versions are translated.
This means:
- You write product descriptions in your own language (e.g. French)
- FLUF lists your items on the channels you select, such as Depop or eBay, in the destination language (e.g. English)
- Your FLUF store, dashboard, and original product data stay unchanged
Enabling Translation
- Go to Settings → General
- Turn on Translate listings when crosslisting
- Select your Source language — the language your product titles and descriptions are currently written in
- Select your Destination language — the language you want listings translated into
- Select the channels where translation should apply
Changes take effect on your next crosslist. Existing listings on channels are not retranslated — the new language is applied when you crosslist new products or relist existing ones.
Supported Languages
Translation supports:
Afrikaans, Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, German, Czech, Danish, Greek, Spanish, Finnish, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Latvian, Estonian, Lithuanian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Swedish, Urdu.
If you need a language not listed here, let us know — we can add more as sellers request them.
What Gets Translated
Translation is applied to:
- Product title
- Product description
Translation is not applied to:
- Brand names (kept exactly as written)
- Sizes (S, M, L, XL, 36, 38, 40, etc.)
- Measurements and material codes
- Hashtags, emoji, and formatting
Tips
Review your first few translated listings. Translation is very accurate for standard product descriptions, but it's worth checking your first few crosslists on each channel to make sure the tone and phrasing match what you want.
Mix languages in your source text carefully. If your descriptions already contain mixed languages (e.g. French with English brand slogans), translation still works but results may be less polished than single-language source text.
Your FLUF listings stay native. Only outbound crosslists are translated. If you sell directly on FLUF, your listing stays in your source language.
Troubleshooting
Translation didn't run on a listing?
- Confirm Translate listings when crosslisting is switched on in Settings → General
- Confirm both Source and Destination languages are selected and are different from each other
- Confirm the destination channel is selected under Apply translation to channels
- Translation only applies to new crosslists and relists — it does not retroactively update listings already live on a channel
Translated text looks off?
- Check that the Source language setting matches the actual language your titles and descriptions are written in
- For very short titles (a few words), context is limited and translations may be less accurate — longer titles translate more naturally
